I’m in nursing school currently, I’ve had about 50 breakdowns,I’ve quite over a million times in my head, sleep I don’t even know what that is, Time I don’t have any, a man? Barely 😂 but I’m so excited and ready!!!!!! It’s scary because I’m so use to quitting when things get rough, but I’m going to be a darn nurse no matter what!!!!

YAS girl 👏🏼 I know it’s not the same but I recently went through classes to become an STNA and started working full-time right away. I have this amazing man who I’ve been with for 2 years. I just saw him yesterday for the first time in 5 days to celebrate our 2 years of being together. I was like “woah, I have a man? Who would’ve thought!” 😆 But luckily he understands. But it’s moments like that, that you have to sacrifice time to provide your patient’s the care they deserve and the care you’d want to receive if you were in their shoes. I have all the faith you’ll get there yourself when it comes to nursing by the sound of your passion and drive 💕💕

My grandma was a nurse and she told me the other day that everyone always thinks the doctors are the ones healing you but it's the nurses that do all the work like changing IV's and cleaning them up and making sure they take their medicine. She also told me she got out of a ticket because the officer saw that she was a nurse and didn't want to give her a ticket.
@piscesbaby101
@piscesbaby101 5 жыл бұрын
Amen to that. Thank God nursing is such a diverse career option! You don’t have to deal with the typical blood and guts of this profession. You can work from home doing insurance/billing, triage, etc, just do strictly flu shots during flu shot season, case management, and so much more! So it’s not the end of the world if you dont enjoy personal care, you definitely got a bunch of other options.

It's crap in every job except the ones that don't pay (school nursing, teaching). Insurance is the worst and most unethical of all of them next to home health. 13 years. Have yet to find one that didn't suck. Back in school to change to another career. Good luck. Paid the bills but will cut away at your soul year by year.

Second year ABSN student. For everyone who’s doubting their intelligence or potential to do well in school, don’t. If you were a good student for undergrad you will do just fine in nursing school. It is not as tough as how everyone hypes it up to be. Just study, manage your time well and you will be fine. I am working too and I have time to enjoy myself as well... it is hard but not hell.

JoshieEats I have a question ☝🏾 are you in nursing school know and if so have you already started working in a hospital I’m asking because I really don’t know if I should go down this route because I feel like if I do nursing I’ll never have time for myself and will spend majority (80%)of my life in a hospital setting and I’m just not really that kind of person.

Hurricane 878 I don’t want to confuse you by my initial post, if you’re are doubtful and don’t want to be in the hospital setting, then perhaps nursing is not the best career choice for you. I am currently in a nursing program and working at a hospital. Nursing is a passion to me, and that is probably also why I don’t find it too difficult, because I actually enjoy the content and material. If you have the opportunity, you can always shadow a nurse, or figure out why you are interested in the field. Nursing in itself is very versatile, and there are many paths you can take with your degree, however, most new grads will end up working at bedside for experience. If you are disciplined, if you can prioritize, and if you can sacrifice short term pleasure for long term goals, you will be fine.

It’s basically herbal medicine and acupuncture you do write herbal prescriptions You do have the course work load such as A&P, pathology pathophysiology toxicology pharmacology bio chem gynecology internal medicine the list goes on trust me lol and you do have to go through clinicals in the teaching clinic (yes the works) while also learning the eastern side of medicine most courses you’re learning a diff language which is tough in itself so we learn Both sides of medicine and you can ultimately pursue many diff careers with it... its more of a holistic approach to health and I didn’t realize how hard it could be but baaaaby it is hard AF

I love seeing crazy stuff.i am currently certified as a medical assistant/HHA but with that title i have been working as a phlebotomist in a hospital setting for 2 years. I love everything I see, hear, and do. Something I love about working at the hospital I am employed at, I get to go to the rapid response and code blues and those are my absolute favorites situations to go into. It has taught me to remain calm and just listen to all the nurses, doctors, RTs talk, and while doing all that still have to do my job and go in, and take blood of whatever they need for labs. Like troponins, cmp, CBC, type and screen etc...thank you for all your positivity ❤🙌

Loved your part about compassion fatigue! I’ve been an official STNA for going on 3 weeks now in a LTCF and there have been a few times where I want to cry on my shift seeing what my residents go through, but I always keep a smile to ease their pain and to comfort them as much as I can. It’s crazy to think that I never realized how fast I’d start to grow a respect for STNAs and nurse’s. The next step in my journey will definitely be to become a nurse, but I also want to stay as an STNA, specifically, to gain a respect for the profession and to learn basic care before I move on to nursing school.

I'm graduating in may 2019 and my last semester as a senior is BRUTAL. You would think senior year is easy sailing...Lord I've never cried so hard in my life. I think too when you're in the middle of the nursing program like sophomore junior it hits you too. I've had no sleep, lost weight cause I never had time for breakfast, long hours in clinical plus way too many exams lol it can be torture. However if you have a good support system in the nursing school it makes it way easier. But it's worth it though it's my version of military school Healthcare style. My friend is in medical school and he tells me it's much much worse than nursing school though. But if you really are passionate about nursing hard work shouldnt stop you

I love how you didn't just say "if this is you don't become a nurse". I've seen too many of those videos and it is so unmotivating. I appreciate how you came at this with a growth mindset. Because I agree, perhaps someone isn't so good at a certain thing but they can grow to be better! I'm currently doing my prerequisites for nursing school and often I am worried that I won't make it as a nurse, but I absolutely know that I'm meant to be one. Helping others is my biggest passion. I love your positivity because it reassures me that whatever I struggle with now can be improved!

I hope everyone realizes that despite having less schooling than a doctor, nursing is still really intense and hard. It’s not going to be a walk in the park where you can study the night before and call it good. Just because you got an A in anatomy and physiology, it does not mean nursing school will be a breeze for you. If you decide becoming a nurse is really what you want, then also realize your job will be consisting of charting, giving medication, charting, calling to transfer patients, and charting (it does vary for specialty obviously), but don’t expect some fresh out-of-Med-school doctor to whisk you away on a chariot with Derek Shepard hair, all the doctors are old and type A personality. Also, if you didn’t get into nursing school, try becoming a CNA for a year or two! It’s a small step to becoming a nurse and I knew a CNA who was in nursing school and after she graduated, she was able to go from CNA to RN on her floor. It was nice for her to have that connection and inside advantage.

Thanks for sharing. For years I’ve been more serious with wanting to go into health. And want to go full in I realized I always had that dream but never been open on it because I only seen me be more in creative aspects in career. But as a child I had my own medical books my parents get for me. And now I’ve changed my perspective after a horrible breakup. And that it’s been my calling this entire time. I’m 32 turning 33 next month and been working since 16 and big part was temping as receptionist in my community on and off. My fave has always been at the clinic. Second teaching k/1. Thanks for helping us prepare what we’re getting into. I started on the On-Call list first time since I started almost 14 years ago and this second week has been chaotic and stressful BUT really I still want to start pursuing a career in healthcare. Sorry if my comment is a bit everywhere. I’ve been slipping in my writing skills. ❤

Ignore the ignorant comment. A nurse is more than a “doctors assistant”. If you want to learn more about the nursing lifestyle you should check out a youtuber named Mizzvaine. She is an avid gamer but is also a nurse practitioner. I promise you you will not have to give up your love of art. You can be a nurse and be an artist on the side with no problem and being confident of your financial stability. The best thing about nursing is that you can discover any field you want, whether you like newborns or want to work in dermatology or want to do ER or women’s health or LITERALLY ANYTHING. There is something for everyone

Thank you for your videos. They are so upbeat and encouraging. I've been an RN since 1982 working mostly in Home Health. I've working in the hospital when first graduated from nurse's training. Working in the hospital is essential before going into the Home Health field. You've mentioned in another video how many different fields of nursing are possible. That is the beauty of the nursing. There is a job for anyone. I would not care to work with sick children or babies. Just not my thing. I love geriatrics. If you like procedures, surgery or clinics might be a good place. If psych is of interest, there are jobs for you too. So many areas to choose from. Nursing is the place to be!

Paula O. There are TONS of different videos on YT about study tips & tricks for nursing school. Just know that you may have to tweak your study techniques to fit what’s best for YOU! Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing. Sure you can use their tips but you’ll have to figure out what works for YOU! Me personally I wrote things out time & time again & watched videos. My good friend could look at something twice & have it memorized so obviously we did NOT have the same study techniques however her technique worked for her & mine worked for me. Good luck! It’s all worth it in the end ❤️
