(There are several theories of colors that I studied in internet. All of them made sense. Some said the primary colors are MAGENTA, blue and yellow. For video-projector they use blue, red and GREEN. In printers they use MAGENTA, CYAN and yellow. So I tried loads of them, played with them in photoshop and I found it the easiest and the most useful to understand colors in cosmetics, skin, hair and fashion - just 3 neutral colors - blue, yellow and red and mixing them I can get any color. And I can also make them cooler and warmer. (Magenta is already cool. It's red plus some blue in it)

Knowing skin tone, hair color, undertones, clothes colors, makeup colors, you should understand the basics of color theory.
Here you will find out:
-What is primary/basic colors?
-What is secondary colors?
-What is the anatomy of different colors?
-What do colors consist of?
-Cool and warm colors
-Dark and light/pastel colors
-What is dusty colors
We will train our eyes to see the differences between different colors.
🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: Hi guys! My name is Alyona. I was born in Russia. I'm a musician. And I love art, makeup, fashion, style and beautiful environments. I love playing with makeup and fashion, but at the same time, I’m quite a minimalistic person. I don't like the idea of being fixated on the body too much. I have an alternative and unconventional viewpoint on beauty, the body types and face shapes. I love helping other women find their "it" and finally discover their beauty and boost their confidence.
I have several series on my channel that you might be interested in such as: Body Types, Contouring, Makeup History and Makeup Transformations. Also some random beauty hacks about skin care, hair, nails and beauty in general.

Aly Art In art (drawing and painting) the red, blue, and yellow are the key primary colors. I wonder why printers and projectors are different?
@Clara-kj7ew
@Clara-kj7ew 7 жыл бұрын
In light, the primary colors are red, blue and green, since when you mix these together they become white light. Since you can create any color of light using those three colors, projectors and TVs use those colors. In printers, they use cyan, magenta, and yellow (and also black) because in ink or paint instead of emitting light the colors reflect light. Basically, in ink and paint (pigments), they absorb colors they aren't and reflect colors they are. So while you could use RYB for printers, CMYK (the "K" is for the black) is generally seen as better because each of those colors is a combination of two primary colors and can combine to make better colors. It's kind of complicated but if you want to learn more you can check out these: replicaprinting.com/2016/10/24/why-do-printers-use-cmyk-instead-of-rgb/ shutha.org/node/815 www.maketecheasier.com/why-printer-use-cmyk/

Clara Yeah, its weird how green and red make yellow with light but not in pigment.
@debiia
@debiia 7 жыл бұрын
Nikki O I believe it's because technology has improved so that we can have more accurate and pure pigments. Even tho they are not perfect yet. In theory, adding cyan, magenta and yellow would form perfect black, but pigments are not so pure to do that. That's why we also have black ink/toner in printers. Hope that makes sense. CMYK color system was mind blowing when I got into design school. Aly, great video as always. It's the only makeup channel I've seen with real and useful content!

Hi Ali, fantastically helpful video. I went to art school a long time ago in the mid eighties and we were taught that to darken or lighten colours you would add its direct opposite colour e.g. to darken red you would add green and vice versa, purple you would add yellow and vice versa and Orange you would add blue etc etc. When you add white or black you are changing the shade and tone rather than the colour. That was a long time ago of course and computers and such technology were not accessible in those days. I love each and every one of your videos and can't wait for the next one , take lots of care x

Thank you! Yes i know that! But I studied loads of the theories, all of them made sense but were not useful enough in seeing the colors in skin, fashion and stuff. SO I just decided to make it simpler for those who don't know anything about the colors. Why not - bordo is just red plus some black. We have loads of lipsticks that is dark red color. ))) x x

can you also make a video about what colour compliments different skin types (like olive skin) and when to stick to warm and when rather to cool colours?
@khadijabey7964
@khadijabey7964 2 жыл бұрын
For warmer skin undertones, colors like red, red orange, or yellow, yellow-orange, and yellow-green, and other colors like these. For cooler skin undertones, blue, blue-green, green, blue-purple, and purple. Now, know too that are also warmer versions of cooler colors. For olive skins, which are neutral/neutral-warm in undertone, neutral-cool too. For instance, green tinged olive skins can wear warmer tones like red-violet(which is a warmer toned purple), orange, red- orange, and red, just stay away from greens because you'll become apart of them instead of standing out against them.
