Denton County has a program wherein a person may be eligible to have their charge Dismissed through a program called Pre-Trial Diversion. Pre-Trial Diversion (or “PTD” as it commonly referred) is the specific name of a probation-like diversionary program offered by the Denton County District Attorneys Office for certain individuals, and certain cases.

To be eligible, a person must not have criminal history of any kind (most Class C offenses and Juvenile matters will not affect the person’s eligibility), and must never have participated in a diversion-type program in any county before. Additionally, the alleged offense must be a “lower-level offense.” Generally, felonies and more serious misdemeanor charges will not be considered for the Pre-Trial Diversion program.

Am I eligible in Cooke county Texas where Gainesville is, if it’s my 2nd offense if both are misdemeanors for different crimes?

Blessings, sir. A landlord had his police friends falsely arrested me and physically abused me by choking me with a sit belt, put a bag over my head until I fainted & dragged me. I ended up in the hospital with a blood pressure of 210. They then falsified medical report and said that I was drunk when I was never interviewed, never evaluated & no exam was performed on me. What saved me is the fact that I went to a different hospital right away and they document that I was abused, " TRAUMA." I had an attorney, but he was trying to have me sign Medical Authorization form to get that false report... And he told me to sign a Stipulations of Probable Cause, & he wants me to plea guilty to municipal ordinance because I vomited & urinated when the police abused me. Because I didn't want to sign he relieved as counsel. Can you help me to represent myself, please ? I'm willing to pay for your advice. Oh, did I mention how the police had a complete video DO- OVER to convict me & they ask me to waive all my rights to sue them or file against them ? Yes. Help me, please.

Wow that is so messed up! I was trapped in my hospital room and abused and beat by a nurse in the hospital and then I was falsely arrested by the cops because they took her side and said I hit her. They refused to take my husbands witness statement and refused ti take pictures of my injuries. They nurse gave me a concussion and bruises all over my body. Now my lawyer wants me to get a diversion but I’m not guilty of anything and don’t want to accept responsibility

I've got a nephew that got caught with a small amount of weed here in Louisiana. When he went to court for arraignment and they put him in this 8 week program along with 6 months probation and for the diversion program they told him he has to cut all his hair off. Doesn't that go against constitutional rights? They may be there policy but when does policy trump constitutional rights? Can you give me guidance on this because he doesn't want to cut his hair and I don't blame him.

It's their policies and procedures for this program. When you enter a prison, It's to not able to hide weapons and drugs in their hair. No lice either. Get with the program. Sounds like you and your nephew are selfish.

Pay attention to what you read before you give your idiotic answer for a question that was not directed to you in first place.. my nephew did not go to a prison he was given a ticket and released the program he had to go into was a drug core program which they made him take before he even saw a judge in which by doing so pretty much made him guilty before due process was even established. So before you comment on something be smart enough to understand what your commenting on so get with the program dummy

Not sure what race has to do with anything andyour right what does cutting off anyone's hair have to do with anything and that's one of the questions I was asking in my comment. At least for me it was cheaper using the public defender and doing diversion compared to paying a lawyer I saved a lot more but pleading guilty makes you feel powerless ngl I just hate that part but trying to fight the case would have been more time consuming only had to do 50 hrs community service and 1250 restitution

No they only offer it to misdemeanor offenders man I’d hire Tim Powers if your near the DFW area he specializes in those man del cases

@@thedemon9110they do programs with low felony’s like theft too over 1000 but a f 1 is way too high of a degree you’ll have to fight that one that’s the worst felony you can have

They certainly do NOT offer this for felony charges. Only misdemeanors

Not true it's a simple application done here in South Carolina for PTI you do not need a lawyer

U have to file a motion with the court that’s why it’s easier to have a lawyer plus if ur lawyer knows the people he can have some kind of pull

Yes you file with the court but you do not need a lawyer at all it is so simple and easy that's just lawyers do.. put in a scare into people thinking they need it. Just trying to make money off of people's fear.
