My version of ‘What Your Favourite AC Game Says About You’ list is: AC1: “You like to blend in with crowds white hooded monks & likes to beat on mentally ill peasants & beggars.” AC2: You loved playing the parkour races with the most terrible ‘stop & start’ Counterintuitive Parkour controls & stabbing the street minstrels every time they got in your way.” AC Brotherhood: “You spend most of your time hanging around the Courtesans just staring at them & enjoying yourself & love to spam Arrow Storm instant kill button.” AC Revelations: “You’re addicted to Hook Blades & Bad Tower Defence Mini-games.” AC3: “You spend more time trying to trigger multi kill animations & ‘Air Assassinating’ Animals.” AC4: “You love listening to them Sea Shanties & sailing across the Seven Seas just to awkwardly tail yet another NPC.” AC Rogue: “You’re happy to finally let loose killing everything in sight as soon as you become a Templar & also love to kill Narwals in your Spare Time.” AC Unity: “You & your friends will become the masters of the ancient art of ‘Loud Stealth’ while parkouring in style to flee the scene.” AC Syndicate: “You love to Zip line & Grappling Hook yourself around London just like a Victorian Batman & YOUR ROOKS!” AC Movie: “You’re just grateful that the movie got made at all.” AC Origins: “You’re in denial of not wanting to play anymore Assassin’s Creed games but you’re too lazy to quit so you instead just nagged Ubisoft nonstop until they turned the game into something else entirely while still Slapping that big fat AC brand onto it instead of just playing a different game.” AC Odyssey: You’re relishing in debauchery of seducing everyone in Ancient Greece while also being an honorary QA play tester for Ubisoft’s upcoming Immortal Phenix Rising RPG & other upcoming games that Ubisoft’s executives are too afraid to release as their own standalone IP’s.” AC Valhalla: “You’re going through some hard times right now & looking to torcher yourselves more.” AC Mirage: “Wilfully inhaling Ubisoft’s Nostalgia Copium hoping you’ll be rewarded with a true AC Sequel.” This list took forever! 😂🥲

Yes, definately. I've got a theory for you, if you don't mind... In AC IV, if you hack the Abstergo computers, you will discover a set of videos explaining that Abstergo is looking for a suitable assassin character to narrate and "alter their memories" to make the Templar order look like the good guys (eventually they chose Aveline from Liberation for this). I like to think, that they did the same with Shay from Rogue, meaning they adjusted his memories to make the Assassins look evil, when in fact there may be a hidden and untold truth to the AC Rogue story. So to sum it up, I think AC Rogue story was intentionally cut out of context by Abstergo. Sorry for the lenght of this comment😆

Odyssey was kind of a dream for me. Being able to have my own Greek demigod when God of War was the only other option. I liked having choices to make the game feel like my own while getting to stealth around and kill people. I didn't like that I couldn't knock people out but I got the Isu staff that does that so it worked out

Definitely hit the nail one the head with Edward and Bayek for me lol. Edward was the perfect untraditional AC protagonist to me, with how his personal issues and the pirate life reflected and intertwined with the Assassin/Templar war. I already consider him better than Ezio, as I found him funnier, wittier, performed better, and his story a bit more intriguing. This made it sting even more with how he was killed off before the game even came out and he got NO SEQUEL as a full on master Assassin in London. Bayek was possibly even better imo, as not only he’s even better performed, but you see every side of him throughout the game and DLCs. The fatherly and tender moments he has with kids, the sense of humor he has with more lifelong and new friends (or just general goofy people), the sense of Justice he has when helping random strangers. The straight up petrifying anger when met with his sworn enemies and overall evil people. You see all of that and feels so real and human. You can see the a lot of what the Creed would become later through his behavior, which makes sense considering he started it all. He deserved not only a sequel in my opinion, but a full on trilogy. Have him essentially be the Ezio of the RPG era of Assassin’s Creed, especially with how well loved he is compared to what came before and definitely after. Seeing him further develop as a person, assassin, along with having the creed grow into what we know them as would’ve been a joy to see. Imagining Bayek develop social stealth and even get eagle vision as we knew it from older games is something I wish we got instead of Odyssey and Valhalla.

Not really. Plenty enough people say this to the point he couldn’t be. I’ve seen many people hold him to the level of ezio yet he has nowhere near equal development. Of course ezio had 3 mainline games dedicated to him but if you only consider his first game he still has way more dimensions than beyek. Beyek is just kind of a charismatic dude out for revenge for his kid. It’s decent enough motivation but like I said he doesn’t have the character development of ezio so I just view him as kind of boring.

Aaight I think imma say something everyone can agree on about Valhalla: It has the effect FALLOUT 4 had in its franchise, meaning it brought some great gameplay, lovely scenery, "dumb" comedy but it misses the point of its own franchise, the moment eivor gets his revenge at start of the game, he made ac3 haters think they were harsh on Connor. Great RPG with viking theme, but for some reason the assassin's and templars feel like a damn cameo. Also much like Fallout 4 great dlcs (minus dawn of Ragnarok in my opinion which was a tasteless copy paste of the base game) and a nice roguelike mode (F**K NIDHOG THOUGH.)

I think you hit the nail perfectly with Odyssey. It was a gamble and I think it worked mostly seeing as Odyssey is one of the best rated games in the series. I alsk think way too many people want the games to be the same thing over and over again. I like how different Alexios is from Bayek and I appreciate both characters as much as Altair or Ezio. Origins is my favorite game though and Bayek has the best voice actor in the series. His voice actor is up there with Master Chief and Kratos (the two newer games).

Three things: 1: Black Flag and Rogue are my favorites in the series, and I think that calling Rogue a B-Team Black Flag discredits so much of it, because other than gameplay they’re really not similar at all. 2. What about Liberation and Freedom Cry? 3. I saw a Reddit post recently saying that Ubisoft didn’t care about Assassin’s Creed, which I think is just really stupid.

I've played the ezio trilogy, 3, and black flag and only played a little of unity, origins and odyssey over a year ago. Somehow, I still don't have an AC game that captured my heart. If it weren't for the big open world of origins, I might say that it's the closest one thus far due to the music and opening cutscene.

the part about origins is solely about Bayek and it makes perfect sense. a wonderfully crafted world, set in the time period most people can admire, plus a solid story, would be enough for a decent AC game. but it's Bayek, his motives and determination, that pushes it over the edge and that's why Origins is my favorite

For me the combat system in the first game is unmatched by the others. I love how simple yet complex it was in how enemies interact with the player making each big encounter very effective in the feeling of tension that you can be taken down by enemies who are just as skilled as you are by them using the same tricks on you as you can onto them. Every game afterwards never does this and rely more on health bars or levels of enemies to intimidate players. Even in the way they respond to bleeding out from their injuries is very disturbing if you don't land a counter attack that immediately puts them out of their misery and really sets in the dark tone of that original game along with its atmosphere. It also makes me feel good at the same time when a group of guards have pissed me off. I also love the parkour system it introduced and the way it worked even more than Ezio's games that came afterwards because of its realism in climbing as well as vaults. When it comes to stealth however Mirage is my favorite for the many options it provides that has been built upon by all the games in the series with the return of classic elements combined with the new. It also has a great blend of beautiful city environments and a decent parkour system that I will say I find to be more fun than any game since Unity when I've tampered with the controls. I also love how intense the bounty hunter encounters are, but other enemies still come off a little slow even on high difficulty like the guards you'd encounter in Black Flag hitting you in slow motion. The finishers make up for it at least.

Origins and Odyssey were decent games, a bit disappointed they were released as AC games though cause that's not really what they are. Origins just barely fits into the assassin genre, it felt more in line with Black Flag, how neither is solely an assassin game. They're both are like half assassin and half pirate/warrior RPGs. While I liked Odyssey and thought the Greek mythology aspect was cool, it was far from an assassin game. Valhalla was a cool concept but it wasn't executed nearly as good as it could've been. It felt more like a fan-made version of Witcher 3 with sprinklings of AC game mechanics/storylines, and the Norse concept was only there to avoid possible copyright issues from both franchises. Whether or not you liked the story in Origins or Odyssey they were still pretty alright gameplay wise, the same unfortunately can't be said for Valhalla imo. It's too late for Ubi to relabel them, but I really wish Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla were labeled spin-offs rather than main games in the series. They more or less felt like Ubi was attempting to keep the assassin genre from getting too stale before making Mirage. While I think the RPG attempts were pretty alright (besides Valhalla ofc it's the only main game in the series I'd label as disappointing), I still wouldn't include any of them in my top AC games or anywhere near that list, it just wouldn't feel right.
@desprometido
@desprometido 2 ай бұрын
What you said about Odyssey and Valhalla is ok, but Origins not fitting into the "assassin genre" is a crazy thing to say, what they wanted to represent was the creed's ideals before the creed itself, Bayek is the perfect character for that, "work in the shadows and kill only those who deserved it". About being "half assassin/half warrior" it is totally possible to play full stealth in Origins if you know how to do it, apart from some really SPECIFIC situations, like Elephants, Animals and the big ahh guys in forts that are strong af. You are probably just playing it wrong, if you want a challenge crank up the difficulty to nightmare and you will ABSOLUTELY think 4x before engaging in open combat instead of stealth.

The ship combat is fun but if they wan't to go back to what people like about AC 1 and 2, ubi can't keep putting it in every game. @@raduadochitei2728They haven't gotten significantly worse. If you think about it, most people that liked Origins loved Odyssey because it took the RPG elements of it and cranked them up. Odyssey also brought back a bigger emphasis on naval combat, another upgrade from Origins and its stealth animations are the most unique in the series thanks to the Spear of Leonidas. Before Origins, animations in the first four games were almost the exact same, same goes with the Colonial games with Black Flag and Rogue being near identical in gameplay. Unity and Syndicate may have less of a case since there is only two of them and the combat is vastly different but the parkour and feel of both games is definitely there with reused animations in every title that comes after another. The newer games are larger but the older games are extremely repetitive if you play them. I've played 1, 2, and now Brotherhood the last few months and anyone arguing the newer games are repetitive or feel to much alike, they really need to revisit the older games because your argument can be used for the older games some people cherish and meat ride so hard. I love those older games to but it's bias, not a fair critique.

AC Valhalla is the only one I got bored of and couldn't make myself finish it. AC Odyssey is NOT an AC game but I still enjoyed it right until the end, albeit to a lesser extent than every AC that came before it.
@Fck_the_atf

Odyssey was far worse imo. At least in Valhalla you could turn on insta kill for the hidden blade making stealth a viable option again. Also the gear mechanics had a huge overhaul. You can actually play the game now instead of having to murder 60 farms full of sheep before going on to the next main mission because you need leather to make your knife stab better. Otherwise you’ll fall asleep in the snooze fest that the game claims is a “combat system” Edit: however, with all that being said i loved the story, the atmosphere, kassandra as a character i think she is well written, the plot is actually good, like good, good. Honestly I would argue that strictly from a story point of view odyssey beats origins. And none of that even covers how surreal the ancient Greece setting is. If we ignore the abnormally large elephant in the room then odyssey would be among one of my favorites in the franchise.

I don't think I have a favorite AC game yet, I still have to play AC3, Rogue and Syndicate (I didn't play the RPG saga because I personally didn't like the new gameplay, sorry AC RPG saga fans, I tried but it wasn't for me :/), but at this moment I'm playing Unity and the gameplay is very good and addictive. The stealth is really fun and so is the combat, and without a doubt the best parkour of the franchise, but the story is pretty mid (the french assassin order is cool), and in my opinion Arno is a (unfortunetly) underdeveloped Ezio. The game had a lot of potential for a better story. Just a quick note, playing Unity multiplayer in call with your friends is a lotta fun because the gameplay is poggers

I feel you. Black Flag is my favorite. But I do really like Odyssey and Mirage. But I hate Origins and Valhalla. The combat is the same. The style is the same. But I think the setting for Odyssey and Mirage make the combat tolerable for me. I still prefer the older AC combat and gameplay though

In my opinion Black Flag and Rogue are two of the better AC games before they got more complicated, so they could be a good place to start if you just want a well rounded game. However, if you don't care as much about graphics and you would like to play a game that is connected to the original games story wise, try Brotherhood. It's graphics still hold up while being a a good addition the the Ezio Trilogy.

If you're ok with old graphics and repetive missions Go with chronology ,if you want to have the best storyline try ezio trilogy, if you want a balance in graphics and story try kenway trilogy(ac 3,blackflag,rogue),if you want the best graphics(in my opinion)and story with amazing game mechanics ac unity,If youre a victorian fanboy and you want to see how it looked try syndicate,if want rpg and stealth balanced but prioritize rpg origins,if you do want stealth and want a big open world rpg go with odyssey ans valhalla(I know I will get hate but these two are not assassins creed game there are just a part of ac universe)and If you like ac 1 Or revalations try ac mirage

Ezio trilogy or black flag are a great start. Our boy 1 is a bit outdated, AC3 is good if you have the attention span and patience for it, DEFINETLY NONE of the post unity games though. They are fun but bad to begin with the franchise imo. If you start with rogue which is a short game although really good you might feel a weird disconnect from the franchise at start. Highly suggest Ezio trilogy, then 1 or black flag then, and maybe 3 after (NOT THE BLOODY REMASTER IF POSSIBLE)

I replayed most of the AC games last year, with the exception of Black Flag, Rogue and the RPG games. The RPG games was still fairly fresh in my memory after last I played them. And I didn't really like Black Flag & Rogue personally, so I did not want to replay them. AC 1 surprised me by how fun it could still be, although being repetitive. And I like most games in the franchise with the exception of Black Flag, Rogue and the 3 big RPG games. I just don't like the RPG games, for me they are too long and doesn't do a good enough job of providing me with the "assassin fantasy". Which is why I like Mirage more, even though it isn't a perfect game by any means either.

So my first AC was brotherhood, so the Ezio games are OBJECTIVLY the best, in my opinion AC 1 was very Janky and i struggled with jumping correctly alot of the time, great story and location, 2 to Revelations are the best games, i got the Ezio Edition TWICE for a reason, 3 had one big issue and its the historical aspect for me, it realy feels like "the Patriot the videogame" when it shows how sterotypically evil the british are sometimes, Black Flag is the BEST naval AC game, but its only a good to decent Assassin game, Unity had some really confusing combat sometimes and i took the joy out of having big fights for me, Rouge is the Better AC3 in my eyes almost Equal to Black Flags Naval Combat but better "Assassin" gameplay, NOW Syndicate was fun becuse it proves having modern firearms in an AC doesnt destory the game so i'm still hoping for an WW1 or Pre-WW2 Shanghai AC game, Origins had the first RPG mechanics but my god i really didnt like the story, Odessy was "but wait there is more!" the game, i actually enjoyed it in that game, Valhalla however cranked that up to 200% making it the slowest burn in history, i've only played a bit of Mirage and sofar i beg ubisoft to bring back some of the Classic Combat since the new fighting is really bothersome to me, anyways, i'm exited for Project Jade, Red and Hexe!

I can't belive it. My favourite is AC Unity and you described it PERFECTLY. It was so sad because you see Arno grew up and his relationship with Élise was pretty Unique. If they gave him more time he could have become the Next Ezio of the AC franchise, it is such a shame. Also Unity is where the combat and Parkour really peaked, the two things that define the most the franchise and still looks way better than Mirage and it is a 2014 game.

Assassin creed 3 people don’t really look at the other characters. People say “Conner is underrated” and now y’all are starting to overrate him. Charles Lee is underrated and the speech he gave to Conner nearly at the end of the game when Conner cut his hair and had the markings on his face was really amazing. Altair is not really liked as much anymore so he’s fairly rated to be honest. The 2d fighters while they are short I think deserve attention too especially Shao Jun who in my opinion is one of the coolest assassins from her outfit to her hidden foot blade. Jacob, Arno and Ezio are the funniest assassins. More Templar games are needed because I think it can be a way to revive the franchise a little bit.
