The mirage one is so real dude, I swear some people really are just angry at the franchise and the fact that Ubisoft decided to call it the “back to the roots” game, really upsets them, because they raised their expectations so high that they were impossible to meet.

another possibility for disliking ac1 (mostly applied to non english speakers) is the game not having subtitles. i'm not a native english speaker and back then my english was really bad. i had a hard time trying to understand what i had to do or what was going on with the story, so the overall experience was confusing

I honestly don't get the immense hate regarding Syndicate. The setting to me was perfect: 1868 London with large open areas but also compact areas that can include stealth sections as well. Jacob never felt cringe to me. He could be a gentleman at times but also a loose cannon, a good contrast to Evie's seriousness. Arno was a great character for an AC game and could have been much better, but just the tome and overall setting of the game made more sense to me in Syndicate. There was a set villain, Crawford Starrick who you were trying to beat in order to take back control over London. The assassination characters had difference in how much they were expanded upon: some of them were generic NPCs, and some had great personalities like Maxwell Roth. The controls scheme was much better than Unity. Throwing objects was simple in Syndicate: just select item with D-Pad, aim with L2 and throw with R2. Use L2 to aim guns, darts and knives and R2 to shoot. Use Triangle to quick throw throwables. In Unity I still get confused over how to use the weapons sometimes. L2 is stealth for some reason. Even though you don't have to hold L2 to remain crouched, why do you relegate a trigger to crouch?! X button to crouch makes so much more sense in Syndicate. Only things I will criticize Syndicate on is the combat and parkour. Parkour is based on Unity's animations but severely scaled down in ways you approach. Free Jumping is removed for some reason, maybe cause you are on taller buildings in Syndicate, and so casuals don't fall off of them. But it could have been funny to see them fall off if you didn't pay attention to when you were jumping. Combat is more button mashing and animation tied, with less control over how you attack enemies. Fighting groups is terrible in Syndicate as you simply button mash and counter at specific times only. Group assassinations is pretty cool, but I much rather prefer Unity's combat system. Also weapon variety is terrible in Syndicate as there are only 3 weapon types which all have the same animations within each type. No special poison blades or flame blades to make the weapons unique, just better stats when using better weapons in that type. Cosmetics are also extremely basic compared to Unity. You can't change individual parts of your outfit, only the overall outfit, the belt/cape which is basically nothing, and the colour in some outfits. Unity offers much more depth in customization. Overall, if Syndicate had the parkour and combat from Unity, it would probably have been the best Assassin's Creed game because of its world setting, music, story (kinda, very subjective and its alright in Syndicate), and graphics / art style, especially compared to the last 4 games in the series (the ones after Syndicate).

You called me out. Mind you, I do enjoy all of the games for different reasons, Vahalla really takes the fun out of everything. The raiding is the only fun part. The land traversal and exploration is just… disappointing, despite the pretty atmosphere. Pile that with how they handled the RPG aspects, and it’s truly a disappointment. Not to mention the story was lackluster. It didn’t even have that going for it. The only good parts were a fraction of the story, and a tinier fraction of the playthrough (prior to 100% completion, if you focused solely on the story.) The only good things to come from the game, in my opinion, are the founding of the Templar Order (mirroring the founding of the Hidden Ones/Assassins in Origins) and Basim. I want to replay Valhalla to experience Basim again, especially after completing Mirage, but I don’t want to go through the SLOG that is building alliances for the Raven Clan again.

My biggest problems with Valhalla are the abundance of historical inaccuracies that could have been easily fixed and repetitive combat.

I hated AC1 the most before Valhalla came along but I started the series when Brotherhood came out, the awful mechanics and the copy-paste story still irritates me.

What I love most about Mirage is not the game itself, it's the effort and the lengths to which Ubisoft Bordeaux went to to give the fans what they wanted while working with the limits of the Anvil engine and the impossibly high expectations. Fans wanted to be able to switch off chromatic aberration, they patched it. Fans wanted more skins, they were added. Fans wanted height-increasing back and side ejects, they were fixed. Fans wanted New Game +, it was added. Seriously, regardless of the quality of the game (which honestly wasn't terrible, and Baghdad was so beautifully recreated), all the praise in the world for Ubi Bordeaux for the effort and willingness to listen to the players. Hats off to them.

This is gonna sound really petty, but my least favorite is Odyssey mainly because there is no hidden blade. I liked the story, but as a stealth gamer, I enjoy the hidden blade and stealth gameplay more in the other games 🤷‍♂️

Having only played Unity years later after all the patches, I have to say it is still a pretty frustrating letdown. I didn't experience that many glitches, maybe just the standard amount for this series, but the story, combat, stealth, parkour and mission design needed a lot more work. Everything is just so unresponsive and sluggish, you're always fighting the game to make things work. So much unrealised potential. I still wish we kept the ideas from the parkour for the later entries but refined, as well as the customisation.

Since I'm (or at least used to be) an AC diehard, I've naturally played every single one of them throughout the years and of course "the worst one" changed a few times. But every single time you were spot on regarding what I disliked about them and what was the thing that made the game not step up in my eyes. Impressive, great video!^^

Another thing for AC 3 is that you don't like parcore as alot of early and every present day missions focus on parcore little bit of combat and no stealth you most likely defend if a stealth system is hated online

I didn't expect to love Mirage as much as I did. I'm so glad I gave it a shot anyway because it's up there for me. I think, due to my complicated feelings about Valhalla (mostly that I was overwhelmed), I didn't much care to see Basim again, but I'm glad I gave it a shot because I did enjoy it.

My least favorite is Valhalla by a long shot, I still don't hate it, but it's definitely my least favorite AC game. I went into Mirage fully expecting to hate the game or at least dislike it, but I actually really love it.

I enjoyed all of them (cant say anything about Oddysey or Vahella because i never played them). All of them had things i loved and things i hated, but i do have a least favorite in Unity. Its the one i struggle the most to stay invested enough in to finish and while many people say the game is fixed it still has a lot of issues, at least on ps4.

I do hate templars. I've literally blocked people for saying the templars are right. I disagree with but will tolerate people both sides-ing the conflict but Vittoria Agli Assassini until the day I die. Valhalla is still worse though. And I hate Odyssey more for claiming to be an assassin's creed game while having zero assassins in it.

I like all of the Assassin's Creed games I've played so far, but I lean more to the vertical cities of Baghdad and Paris compared to the less cramped cities and landscapes of odyssey and Valhalla. HOWEVER when I want to play more mythologically driven games my go to is Odyssey then Valhalla if I'm feeling spicy.

I personally think that Black Flag is the best Assasin's Creed game, it has good lore, character improvement, ship's, a ton of enemie's, upgrade's and the guy you play as is actually a assasin unlike Assasin's Creed Oddysey. (Question, is the guy you play as in Valhalla even a Assasin?)

Almost spot on with the Odyssey part. I dont like that its not an actual AC game and I never enjoyed Ubisoft's incorporation of RPG mechanics. I typically hear "its not a good Assassins Creed game but its a good RPG" and I will argue any day of the week that it just isnt a good RPG game either. Its also the pinnacle of predatory MTX in the AC series.

The only ones I’m not a fan of are the side scrollers. AC is meant to be third person and the fact that guards can’t see you when another guard is standing in front of them ruins it for me

As a fan of Valhalla, I agree with your statement. The game is very lacklustre, despite the stunning environment. The games strongest points, being the beginning of the story and the combat, including the skill tree and abilities, are severely outnumbered by the negatives. A vast yet empty world with little to no reward for exploration. While I personally like Eivor, they still lack the original charm and charisma of Ezio or Arno. It had the potential to be an amazing game as the Viking setting is rooted into a lot of culture and history, but Ubisoft once again underdelivered. Despite all that, it IS an enjoyable experience as a Viking game, but not an Assassin game. As long as you play in moderation or stray away from the story and explore at your own pace, I think it's still fun. I personally enjoy collecting all the wealth, artifacts, and mysteries. I have played most AC titles, and I'm still a huge fan of them. I love AC2, Revelations, AC3, and Unity the most. Brotherhood is good, but I honestly don't remember much about it.

No, in fact AC 1 is my least favorite is because I gave it 2 shots and it failed to get me into it. I started playing ac games in 2014 and my first game was AC Bloodlines followed by black flag. Quite the coincidence is that I actually downloaded AC 1 again a few minutes before finding this video. Let's give it another shot because I really want to like it!

i played unity years after it launched and i hated pretty much everything about it. All I really liked is the suits but there were like 10 that i liked but there was only 2 i would wear.

I havent played mirage yet but I probably would still like it, I mean I liked every AC game up until odyssey. But thats just because it dint feel like an AC game it felt like a spin off title and Ill forever see it that way just as you said in the video. Basically i belive Odessy and Valhalla should be their own franchise of games and we should veiw them as such instead of comparing them to the original AC.

Your analysis of why people dislike AC: Black Flag is spot on. I hated the naval combat so much. It was my least favorite part of AC3 and then I found out most of the combat in Black Flag was naval. I tried to like the game, I really did. But the sea battles were so frustrating that I've ended up quitting mid-game every time.

Odyssey and Unity are my least favorites, and Valhalla is my favorite. Unity was challenging for me to actively enjoy and Odyssey i just didint enjoy at all, but Valhalla was the viking fantasy i've always wanted so it just clicked with me.

nobody asked but here's my list of pros and cons of each game AC1 Pro: set up to an iconic series that i've fallen in love with Con: Bland repetitive story gameplay AC2: Pro: great story with great character development Con: can't really think of one (not to say it's flawless i just haven't played in a while) AC Bro: Pro: Continues the great story with a now matured Ezio Con: Takes away the oppurtunity to explore a new historical setting by using the same character AC Rev: Pro: Nicely wraps up ezio's story and ties it to altair's Con: if i remember correctly the size of the map was not properly exploited, felt like the story ended before I had proper time ot explore each part AC3 (my personal fav): Pro: in my opinion it has great combat and story, especially tying it into recognizable moments in american history Con: haven't played in a while but i remember the stealth not being great AC4: Pro: Refreshing story by waiting a few sequences to truly make edward an assassin. incredible setting and map. Con: Tailing missions i guess🤣 although i don't hate them as much as some people AC Rogue: Pro: another refreshing story with an interesting POV on character from AC3 and AC4 (adewale) Con: I didn't really like shay AC Unity: Pro: INCREDIBLE PARKOUR, and interesting story with the romeo and juliet esque love story Con: i like Arno but there was little character development, he did not grow up at all. AC Mirage: Pro: fun stealth gameplay and decent parkour Con: Doesn't address modern day and leaves questions about basim being loki and how that affects current day unanswered. also does not properly use the size of the map, 60% of it isn't used at all P.S these were all off the top of my head. the last time i played most of these were 2 or 3 years ago, some of them closer to 4 or 5 so i may be making things up.

AC: I is my least favorite but mostly because it wasn't my the first game in the franchise that I played. That honor belongs to AC: III and AC: Black Flag. So this video came close to begging me just right.

😅now i am torn apart for from all the ACs which one can buy nowadays for PC i have only skipped Chronicles trilogy for its 2D aspect (which i say does not fit the franchise imho) and Mirage for i played every single bit of Valhalla and already familiar looking "arab" setting and fact Mirage covered so little of Basim´s life to make me care to experience it. Then there is the matter that from those i did played i found Unity the weakest-Arno seemingly developed so little throughout the gamke i even cannot recall happening and happening in a familiar places,which i visited (in which case Unity also failed the "travel agency" aspect...pretty much like AC2 and Brotherhood did...i love AC for so much)

My least favorite AC game was Odyssey. Not because it's a good or bad game, but because it's not an AC game. And I never played Valhalla but I hold it in the same regard. Even Origins barely qualified but at least had a good protagonist. I do like Mirage is at least a AC game again, gotta give Ubisoft credit for kidna trying, but it's too bad Mirage is basically built on glorified DLC and the Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla engine which is not at all suited for parkour.

Valhalla is my least favorite. Not a fan as to me it is a massive step back from what they did with Origins and Odyssey. Mostly Odyssey. You still had tons to do after beating the game. Plus the lack of new game plus turned me off from picking Valhalla again.

My favorite assassin’s creed is AC3 but not because Connor is a bad character (though in my opinion he is a bit boring) but because I am a completionist and this has easily the hardest fucking optional objectives in any AC game I’ve ever played

Haven't played all yet but so far it's Unity for me, though not for the reasons you mentioned. Played it for the first time last year so I basically had no bugs. I just hate the setting/color palette, the story and characters were subpar at best, stealth was boring and the combat was annoyingly slow paced for my taste. It honestly also has the most cluttered mess of a map I've ever seen in a game in my entire life. I'm the kind of person who likes to 100% games like Odyssey, so it takes allot for me to say 'yeah...how about no' to collecting everything, doing side quests etc. in a game like this. And yet that's exactly the effect Unity had on me with just one look at the map. I know this is all an unpopular opinion but Unity really is the only AC game so far that made me want to rush through the main story just so I could say I've played it, and then never look at it again (and that's exactly what I did). I really don't get what people like so much about it or why it's being hyped up a bit in recent years, but to each their own I guess.

7 months late but I feel attacked by the AC Odyssey and then Valhalla points I didnt dislike Odyssey because it was an RPG, I love me some good RPGs. The problem is that it wasnt a good RPG. Valhalla just made it worse

I stopped playing new ac titles after Odyssey, origins was fun, and i did genuinely enjoy it as an ac game, but with odyssey it just ruined it for me. The griding, the micro transactions, all of it left a sour taste in my mouth.

AC1 is my least favourite. My Play order is AC3, AC Black Flag, AC Rogue, AC2, AC Brotherhood, AC Revelations, AC1, AC Syndicate, AC Unity, AC Origins, AC Odyssey, AC Valhalla. Havent played Mirage.

To be honest it’s kind of true with Unity, I didn’t pre order the bugs and glitches was just that bad after release even. But I was close to not buying more AC games and became my worst AC game at that time. Then i decided to give AC one more chance and bought Syndicate which was right after Unity. Turns out it was shit and was even worse, with it becoming my least favorite AC game to date and have not bought anything AC ever since no joking XD

I have nothing against naval combat what makes AC4 my least favorite is Edward, I don't dislike him as a character but I'm invested in the assassin vs templar conflict and for me 90% of the game feels like a pirate game not an assassin's creed game, the game also felt very boring and slow paced

Odyssey and valhalla are my least favourite. I like them in a way. They were big, so much to do, so much to explore. My problem was that they were hardly assassin's creed at all because of the stories, the characters not being assassins, main bad guys in odyssey being a random cult and the order of the ancients in valhalla hardly being the most important threat, and the stealth in valhalla was terrible. If ever there was a new rpg game, just make it a proper assassin's creed rpg game like origins or even better.

Yeah AC 1 is my least favourite. No I'm not young and yes I started playing 2 years ago. But I'd say my favourite would be 1 of the Ezio trilogy or Unity( purely in terms of gameplay) The RPG games however are decent, even good RPG games but not really Assassin's creed

What I dislike about the original trilogy is the combat. It is so freaking boring. It's just 2 buttons and holding one button for the parkour.

I'm honestly just *tired* of them trying to shoe-horn assassin's creed everywhere. It's obvious they're stretching the setting to its limits. I would see nothing wrong with a mystical pseudo-historical video game about some famous viking chief or infamous greek mercenary and them both having unique powers. Where it pisses me off is the insistence that those really GOOD games are smushed into Assassin's Creed. And for Mirage...I just dislike characters whose "Ends" are already determined. We killed Basim. Why would I care about playing a game I already know the eventual ending to?

I like odyssey, But i hate valhalla, Im fine with the rpg aspect but, 1 Game play and parkour is mid,2 Story usn mid,3 main character is Half decent but they are nothing compared to my boy jacob, Yes i said it, Gotta respect eizo the og but Jacob is definitely my favorite ac character, And I hate that people call syndicates story "Underwhelming" Thank you for your time, This is just a personal perspective feel free to disagree

LMAO so wrong. I played them in release order and I was out of high school when 1 came out. Odyssey and Valhalla are the best games in history and I wish we had more of them like Rogue and Freedom Cry to Black Flag. Unity and Black Flag are close after them. 1 is a glitchy mess that didn't age well. Same with Ezio saga and 3. Its very hard to go back before Black Flag. I hate naval combat but Black Flag perfected the combat of the PS3 era.
