I discovered MD when Mustain’s frustration of being kicked out of Metallica was still excusable, now I mostly listen to banfs that IMHO should be more prog rock than the metal label that is put on them (Delain, Nightwish...) or 70s classical music. I guess going to 11 is mostly a young guy’s thing.

The last time I bonded with someone over Death, I started to get the feeling they thought I was a creep because they were probably wondering why someone almost 20 years older was taking to them (btw they were in their early 20s). It's also the point I realised I'm too old for rock night clubs because it's all metal core and emo trash these days and I don't recognise half the music.

Actually a fan of: - Death (Progenitors of Death Metal. Chuck is my favorite guitarist I've heard so far. The man played with his soul, and his work with Control Denied was every bit as epic.) I like some of their music, but if I called myself a fan I'd be a poser: - Metallica (Legends who paved the way for Thrash. Talk crap all you want, but your favorite drummer will probably never be heard half as much as Lars.) - Slipknot (I can recognize and appreciate the immense level of love and dedication from the Maggots. You don't earn that from sucking and selling out. Much respect.) - BABYMETAL (Honest to God rock stars. These girls put on an amazing show, and you'll almost never find this level of crowd control from many other bands.) - Limp Bizkit (Okay, hear me out. They've got like _four_ absolute bangers, and that cover of Behind Blue Eyes wasn't bad either.) - Deftones (Discovered through a collaboration with the vocalist from Tool. Not really into them, but I've enjoyed everything I've heard so far.) - Avenged Sevenfold (Learned about them after a collaboration with Hed PE. Many of their tracks stayed in my playlist for the better part of a decade.) - Megadeth (Mostly the same reasoning as for Metallica.) Have probably heard at least some of a song or two at some point but wasn't very impressed: - Polyphia - Falling in Reverse - The Black Dahlia Murder - Cattle Decapitation - Bring Me the Horizon Their names ring a bell, but I have no idea who they are: - Lorna Shore - Slaughter to Prevail - Sleep Token - Electric Callboy Never even heard of the rest of them. [I just scrubbed through the video to find these names before actually watching, and how _f#$%ing_ *dare* you say something so utterly inaccurate about fans of Death!? Loved the Megadeth one but i knew damn near every other band mentioned regardless of if i actually listen to em or not but i did know them lol. I also grew up on the horror movies that Ice Nine Kills write, perks of having parents that are big fans of the old horror movies like Jaws, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Friday The Thirteenth, Psycho, American Psycho, IT, Childs Play, Alien, The Crow, Texas Chainsaw, House of 1000 Corpses, etc. Turned out to be a big horror fan myself, not that stupid horror comedy stuff tho since horror is meant to be terrifying and make you wanna shit yourself not shit yourself due to laughing at something thats not all that scary lol.
