Hi fam! So I'm old, both as a woman in her 50's and as ARMY. I found Bangtan at the end of 2013 when a friend who was stationed in ROK while I was there showed me this new Idol group who was "not like other idols, they area real verses always pretty and produced." At first I listened and thought "not bad" but it was when I first saw/heard this very song that I became ARMY and ApoBangpo for life. This song makes me feel so old yet so young. Silly huh? As an American, once I was sent back to America after working in ROK, I had to work hard at keeping up with BTS because there were not ARMY around like there is now (Thank you ARMY for being so vibrant and global!!!!) I did hear this song before and I love it. I agree with you about the break part even though it doesn't seem like they are on a break lol. I remember one of the biggest bands in the world back in the 80s and 90s one member said it got to the point they were so exhausted where they would walk down a hotel hallway and not even acknowledge each other then go on stage and perform. Im not saying bts got to that point but they definitely needed time to grow as individuals and whats happening with each member is amazing. The growth from back then till now is just exciting to see. I am very excited for their journey into a new chapter of their loves .

I don't use profanity...but DAMN this is like they predicted what their future would be. I cried because they knew it wasn't gonna be easy but they held on to who they are even at times when 😮they weren't sure. Well. That was a banger. I’ve heard OF it before but I’d never actually heard it. The longer i go with these boys the more i am blown away by the sheer volume of their output and how consistently GOOD it is, even at such a young age. That’s talent right there, and so much passion in it. And that is why they are still around ten years on

I see this and I think to myself… they were destined to be great! At such a young age they were already so deep in their thoughts and lyricism. Then add in all their other talents, humility, drive to work hard etc. No young “boy band” ever wrote music like this, far from it.

I thank you too Nico for sharing this. It makes me love these boys so much more. I’m waiting for my book. Can’t wait to read it. They are truly one of a kin no matter what others think. Everyone has gone through their own hardships being a K-pop. To see these guys go from almost literally nothing to who they are now. They did work their asses off. And they did with truth and honor and love. Their is almost nothing that would cause me to leave them.

A lot of rap is about social commentary and about life. Maybe you just haven’t found rappers you like but there is a reason why it is called rhythm and poetry. It can really be very beautiful and hit you hard

BTS Rap is Rap. So, you like Rap (when BTS is doing the rapping). It's a good genre to like.. Much rap (probably a majority of rap) tells a story about life's struggles. From its earliest days, life's struggles was a central theme in this genre of music. There is a LOT of good rap out there across the world, and the BTS rappers themselves were big fans of many great groups and artists. A good place to start hearing some rap you may not have heard before, is with some of the groups and artists mentioned in BTS' song Hip Hop Lover/Hip Hop Phile. I knew a lot of the American artists they mentioned but I got turned on to the Korean group Epic High from that song and some other groups I'd never really listened to as well. I understand liking BTS the most though. They're my fave too, but there is lots of other great rap out there in the world. 🎤✨

Stuff like this reminds me of why my love for BTS will always be different from my love for the few other groups that I am also a fan of. Overall BTS are just built different and no one will ever surpass them in my book or my eyes. They've got that special something man. Nico you have open up a flashback that I myself forget it even existed. The tears and the memories from when I became ARMY back in 2015 and looking to all their videos and concepts and looking at my daughter who at the time was already ARMY from 2012 and her explaining to me their story and struggles from the beginning. And to see how far they’ve become still against all those who wish for them to disband. But BTS will forever rise to the top no matter how hard the way might be.
