people think George will make beer Star Wars and save it but he can sill take he series in an odd direction. People could still hate his ideas. IMO he books had a good rout and we should have follower that. Jason and Jaina solo instead of Ben and Ray the whole "3 moves was the whole store, there was no more I never had sequels planed" line is BS Luccas said in old interviews that he had ideas for 7,8,9 . He changed his mind in later interviews but he did say that.

Lucas seems like a youngster confined within a grown-up's body - Star Wars has perpetually emitted the vibe of being written by a nine-year-old, yet that's precisely why it's flawless - for kids lol That's why Star Trek reigns as the superior futuristic tale. It's a shame that the greatest concept in science fiction, The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester, was never adapted into a film.

The prequels were not hated upon release. It took a few years for the hate to fester until it broke out _years_ after their initial release. But since all the forums and platforms on the internet that facilitated all the hate did not yet _exist_ when the prequels came out, _of course_ the trolls on these platforms don't remember the before times. Professionals, however, should know better!

Honestly I would like to see George back in a creative management type of position. Ideally as president instead of Kathleen Kennedy but that's probably a pipe dream. George is a great idea man and his vision is unparalleled. I think he would be a great fit for overseeing the franchise as whole. He's also a fantastic businessman. However, his writing and directing... Well let's just say it leaves a bit to be desired as is evidenced by the prequels. He himself acknowledges his own deficits in that department, he tried very hard to find someone else to direct the prequels. So the idea of George returning is cool, the franchise needs his genius, but please don't let him direct anything lol

If he does, considering his age, I think it would only be as a sort of creative consultant. Although, we do have to remember that his first and foremost goal in life was to become a filmmaker, not a franchise creator. It could be that he wants to get back into making films and figures Star Wars is the best way back in.

Disney didn’t care Lucas’ opinion and story treatments before, why would they care now? They own it so they’ll abuse him as much as they did the OT fans.

I"m pretty sure Scorsese has not one but two films greenlit, Francis has a new one coming out this year and spielberg is always busy. That clique is busy in their 80's, why should lucas be different? Also having lucas around won't be any sort of unifying force. There's large swatches of star wars fans who will stream/buy tickets for/buy the merch even though they hate star wars.

Given that Lucas is a terrible director, I hope they have him as a consultant. He's an excellent idea man and visual effects guy. Just let better writers and directors that understand people do that work.

Ennh... Lucas has had an idea for a TV (and/or) small screen show (Star Wars: Underworld) for years. I'd be unsurprised if Disney lured Lucas back by offering to fund that.

I’ll tell you what will happen. People will hate him again. If he does one tiny thing that rubs the fans the wrong way, people will treat him like the devil. They did when he made the prequels, and they did again when he defended Bob Iger. Even if he makes the best thing ever, if he stays with Disney (which he will) and stays with the current canon and doesn’t recanonized the EU, nothing will change.

George Lucas had total control over the prequels, and I find them completely unwatchable. So I don't hold much hope that they will be great films with him back in charge. This is the man who made the downfall of Anakin Skywalker - something that should have been epic - into a pedestrian, boring, inconsistent mess. He called all the shots on those films; and it highlights the fact that the original trilogy was very much more a collaborative thing. Filmmakers with too much power and money tend to make poor films. I still remember one of the behind the scenes videos where an obviously fed up CGI artist was told to make Yoda look sadder, and went really over the top in a passive aggressive display. It was clear that everyone was scared to say or suggest anything to Lucas, and this was the only way of reining him in. I knew then that any subtleties would go out if the window.

Not that big of a deal. Everybody craps on the sequel trilogy. But I was a senior in high school, when episode one came out. Outside of the end light saber fight, the whole movie was crap. So were the next two. except for when they finally burned, Anakin Skywalker. And the clone wars, movie, and television show, was horrible. Or have we forgotten the brilliant line, sky guy? But I have nothing against, the phantom, menace babies, the grew up with the prequel‘s. Because that is your trilogy, and it’s stupid movies. my original trilogy, had its problems too.

I don't know how many times Star Wars Theory has reported that Kathleen Kennedy is being fired but it should be more than plenty for no one to take that dude REMOTELY seriously. And you are and for what? George Lucas sold Star Wars not because he wanted a "break". He owned the company and hadn't made a movie in years and didn't NEED to. Moreover, this is STAR WARS. His life's passion. He's not just to come back to give someone else suggestions on what to do in HIS project. That was DEFINITELY not his role in either the OT or PT. He sold it to retire. Like any one else would do approaching the age of 70. Why in God's name would an 80 year old man come back to work. That's just bonkers. I'm not sure Lucas' return is the solution, I mean the prequels were a mess and tbh even the game developer of Force Unleashed said he was more of an impediment then a help.

So, the guy who came up with the original concept, but was saved in the editing room from releasing a total disaster is returning. The guy who gave us the dreadful prequel trilogy, introduced midochlorians and Ewoks, and wrote some of the most cringe-worthy dialogue in movie history is coming back. I'd rejoice, but this is also the guy who sold the property for a bit over $4 billion, and then made sure Kathleen Kennedy would be the creative force in the series. His name might get the old fans back into the theaters one last time, but unless he has a new vision about moving this franchise ahead, it will be more of the same crap they've been pushing for years. Another overly expensive CGI fest with no heart or soul.

I would take anything that comes from Star Wars Theory with a grain of salt large enough to house a space slug. I used to love his channel and watched his videos religiously, until his increasing anti-Disney bias caused the negativity on his channel to skyrocket. He's not a Star Wars content creator, he's a virulent Disney hater who makes millions of dollars complaining about how modern Star Wars isn't what he thinks it should be instead of what his channel used to be, which was a celebration of this universe that we all love. When, in one of his Bad Batch episode breakdown videos, he ignored story development completely to instead body shame and make fat jokes about Shep Hazard (the mayor of Pabu), I unsubbed from his channel without even finishing the video.

Sorry, I’m gonna call BS on one non-major-topic thing: Disney claiming they have yet to turn a profit from Star Wars. Despite “fan backlash”, all three sequel movies made over $500 million at the box office. So did Rogue One… while I don’t have the exact numbers in front of me, that’s at least 2 billion before the “50% theater cut” (which, btw, is not accurate. It’s more like 35-38%)- so let’s call it one billion from box office. Then consider they have been selling STAR WARS ON EVERYTHING for the last 12 years… I would bet the merch alone is 3-5 billion. Jesus H, I am so sick of hearing Disney cry poor.
