The seats were very comfy, the winged head rest was very good for resting your head when asleep, however it’s was all very 1990’s, Cool Britannia Esk and It was not very classy. Those multi coloured head rests and pillows I thought always looked cheap

I think that was the whole point, making it look less informal and in return making passengers feel more comfortable.

It belonged to a friend of mine who was BA cabin crew and was going to throw it away so I kept it for posterity.

Just did BA WT long haul - the product has gone backwards - less legroom, no footrest, no headset (just earplugs) and intrusive IFE box on the floor,

I have to say that world traveller on long haul is NOT a pleasant experience, especially when the bozo sitting directly in front of you decides to recline their seat leaving you shoehorned into a very small area.

BA was squandering money like crazy those days... (around 1998) I knew this WT product well. It was an excess in both expenditure as well as stupidity... very impractical and it was not an enjoyable experience for customers either. In the end its costs were off the roof and was part of the business failure Bob Ailing was steering BA towards and that ultimately cost him his job.

V R I worked for BA in the late 90s. It was a big spend I agree but at least he airline was trying to acknowledge the importance of economy class passengers as well . From what world traveller was like before this intervention , I thought it was an improvement though some elements were not practical .
