What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go awry. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.

I feel sorry for the kids that have to go through this situation as well. I was only five years old when my parents divorced and I knew that something was going wrong in their relationship, but at the same time I didn't really understand what was going on at the time. You know what I think that it hurts the kids when they are young and around the ages of 5 to 12, but this situation can also hurt the teenagers as well. It might only hurt the teenagers a little bit, but it definitely hurts the kids more than it does with the teenagers. My parents divorce still hurts me to this day and I am 22 years old. You would think that once you get to be an adult it won't affect you anymore, but believe me when I say this, but it still hurts your heart even when you are an adult. It hurts the kids, teenagers, and adults in a variety of ways it can hurt them emotionally and verbally and also sometimes even physically, but that is only, if and when the parents hurt each other physically or even hurt the child physically. I also almost forgot this, but it hurts them mentally as well. I am done ranting on about divorce, but I am trying to write my own songs about divorce and how it affected me and still affects me to this day. Once I have written a few songs I will upload them to my KZfaq channel for other people to see and maybe even relate to in a way.

It is so hard . Especially when one parent dosen't want anything to do with the children and the other parent has to fight for the other to see the kids. It is really hard when you don't understand why that one perant is pushing you away. To every child from a divorce patents you are doing amazing and i hope you know it isn't your fault.

I was lucky enough to be older (18) when my parents split. My father (deceased) wouldn't say a single bad word about her unless we were absolutely trashed. My mother... Don't bring up my dad around that woman. Holy shit. He was a drunk (sleepy, not angry), and wasn't home much. He just couldn't stand her nagging. I can relate. He spent an insane amount of time at work, like 12 hour days, then decompress at the bar for an hour or two, then have to put on the happy family man mask til he went to bed. To hear my mother tell it, he was controlling, abusive loser, angry all the time, and consistently falling down drunk. Bullshit. The man hated his life, but had one of the gentlest personalities I've ever known. He was a hippy til the day he died, but he worked his ass off. Some people just have toxic personalities, and when someone they've feuded with has left the room, they're going to get shit on.

its NEVER the kids fault. I remember after my dad died, my mom would say it's your fault dad died (um excuse me?! lol). at the end of the day, kids trust their parents (obviously) so be careful what you say. I'm not against divorce. it's better to be divorced than be miserable in a marriage that doesnt benefit anybody but of course that's after every option has been used like therapy for one. couples therapy might be an option before divorce.

This can be very toxic for the child involved and they might even feel like its their fault. My parents aren’t divorced, but my cousin’s parents are and she told me about how she felt in this situation. It took her time (years) to understand that it was her parent’s problem/fault not her own. It hurt her so much emotionally that it even affected her academically/socially, she was just 8 years old. Even if the partner was bad, the other parent can still talk in a less negative and toxic way. The kids can be hurt emotionally too and both parents need to realize this, they aren’t the only ones suffering.

I remember my “father” telling me specifically when I was younger.. “your mom gets whatever she can get. From anybody. She screws people over and you’ll see that one day boy.” And for years I questioned what my Mother done wrong. She’s the only person that ever took care of me and raised me. He walked out when I was 2 years old and my mom never received any child support until he was locked up when I was 19. Talk is talk. Actions are actions..

This made me cry. Brings back horrible memorys of all the horrible fights my parents had all my childhood, all the things my dad would say is nothing a child should hear. Not having a parent, or your parents not getting along, is heartbreaking. It can put so much on the child, depression, paranoia, self harm, ext. You should never fight in front of your children, and do not ever take your anger out of your kid. It's not a joke, and it's heartbreaking knowing how many kids have lost a parent or even both parents, due to these harmful actions. It can be hard, but as a parent your job is to make sure your child is safe from the world, so you cannot give up on them. They are to young to handle that kind of emotion and heartbreak.

My dad lost his job and parents had a lot of fight . Mom used to spend much more time with me , and used to take care of me , but also used to say wrong thing bout dad . One day I was with my dad and he was drunk, it was the first time I saw him crying , such a brave good lookin face cry . He said he loved me and said that after divorce I should stay with mom , and he called himself a loser for not earning enough money to buy me new stuffs , but he said after divorce he will make sure I am safe , and it felt like a blessing . Coz he was crying . And real men only show there emotions and start crying in front of there loved ones , he loves me and I love him too . Now it's 3 years since divorce . And both are having different partners :/ . But the thing is both are happy . And I'm sad . Tho I'm money sufficient coz dad and his gf make a huge money . But still I feel empty .

My mother divorced my father when I and my brother were very young. My father had cheated on my mother with another woman, he was (is) an alcoholic, and he went to prison for some time. Through all of that, they NEVER spoke a bad word of each other. That meant that the time we actually got to spend with our parents wasn't focused on negative energy, we could just be kids. My mother told us the truth about our father when we were both in our late teens, old enough to understand the complexity of their history. The person who said "they will find out eventually for themselves" is so right.

If your parents are going through a divorce, I know how hard it is. I used to go to separate my parents when they would fight, I was about 3-4 years old. But now, a long time later, my parents are happier, this may not be in ever divorce, but no matter when your going through, its for the best, its not just a saying, but imagine having deathly fights around you. Your happiness is important but happiness spreads. So stay strong, and remember its for the best, and your parents both care about you, maybe they left your or something happened, but its not your problem its theirs, and parenting is hard, people make mistakes. Stay strong, you are loved, and its for the best.

Have cried tons of time after. Hey, I'm sorry. You have got to tell them how this makes you feel. Not in the heat of the moment or when emotions are running high. This is upsetting you and they should know it but bring it to the table in a calm and collected manner. Don't suffer in silence any longer. That's not good for you. And tell him that if he doesn't stop that you're going to shut him out anytime he starts on it. Not because you don't love him but for your own well-being. He should be venting his frustrations/issues with someone else - if not a therapist then a good friend - who won't be affected in the same way as it does to you. Take care of yourself.

I can relate to this very well. My parents got divorced. I was 14 when they first separated. During the divorce, my dad would always bad mouth my mom in front of me and my brother. My mom, on the other hand did not do the same thing. I was young at the time, so I kind of just went with what my dad said at the time and lashed out my mom. In the final custody decision, my mom won full custody and moved out of state. After the divorce, my mom eventually chose to remarry, and my dad convinced me not to go to her wedding. I followed through with it and refused to go to their wedding which is a decision I regret now as an adult. Also, my dad refused his visitations for the first two years after I moved out of state with my mom. I feel like my dad made the divorce way harder than it needed to be for me, and I feel that if he just moved on past the divorce and still did what he needed to do to give his kids the best life possible, my life would be a lot better right now. I am 25 now, and it can be hard sometimes looking back at all of this terrible stuff I went through with my parents' divorce.
