What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go ary. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. Research before claiming anything. When a mother is drunk, the breastmilk has less alcohol than D-vitamin drops. Only risk to the baby is the mother being too drunk to safely take care of the baby.

The info in this video is so ridiculous. My ob, pediatrician, and lactation consultant all told me it was fine to have a few drinks while actively breastfeeding. My pediatrician actually said I’d have to be on the verge of black out drunk for it to effect my milk.

Im 38 weeks today and I have consulted 3 different doctors. I love to have a glass of wine with dinner or have one drink once in a while (when I’m not pregnant). I'm due any day now to give birth to my first baby... I sincerely believe that moms shouldn't drink and breastfeed. If a mom wants to kick back with a few drinks, have somebody that can care for the child just in case mom tips those scales and have some pre-pumped bottles of alcohol-free breast milk that can be used to feed the baby while the alcohol leaves momma's system.

Regarding the amount of alcohol that is transferred to the child, the milk will inherit the alcohol level of the mothers blood, e.g. if the mother have an alcohol level of 0,1 % (high level of drunkenness) the child will drink milk that contains 0,1% alcohol. This is like drinking wine with an alcohol level of 10% that have been diluted 100 times, this is less what is usually found in orange juice, milk etc. A beverage is considered to alcohol free up to 0,5% alcohol content. At 0,4% blood alcohol level the mother is most likely dead but the child would still be able to drink "alcohol free" milk.

I like wine occasionally. I have a baby that I did breastfeed. They sell alcohol breastmilk strips at Walmart that check the milk to see if there’s still alcohol in your milk or nah. I would use those a few hours after a glass to test it. Easy solution

It's amazing to me how ignorant people are about plain old bodily science and breastfeeding in general so I'll lay it out for you.... First off doctors know diddly squat about breastfeeding, they know the bare minimum. 4 of my lactation consultants go by the golden rule "If you're sober enough to drive (not promoting drinking and driving) you're sober enough to nurse." If you're throwing back drinks and getting wasted and shitfaced, yes you can intoxicate your baby. But just like anything else, waiting a few hours before nursing again is safe. Finally a voice of reason! And I've been told the best time to drink is in fact WHILE breastfeeding. That way the alcohol hasn't reached your milk yet, and will be gone by the time baby wants to eat again. Granted, this actress was portraying someone totally over doing it, but in general, having a drink while breastfeeding is A-ok

Medical research has shown no adverse effects of breast feeding while drinking (moderately). The amount of alcohol in the milk is really small and moderate amounts of alcohol consumed by the mother won't adversely affect the baby.

If you can find your baby you’re capable of feeding your baby. It’s fine, the amount of alcohol that gets transferred into milk is so minuscule. People are always mad.
