My brother has that 10mm glock i haven’t shot it though because it’s too big for my hand to hold comfortably I was anticipating the recoil to be absurd haha but since you say it’s not that bad I might give it a try!

@@ftf100gang 10mm is extremely fun to shoot. I've got the G20 gen5 which has a longer recoil spring than the previous generations, so it has even less recoil than the older G20s. The G40 gen4 also has mild recoil. With a tight grip, 10mm is very manageable. A .357 magnum revolver is much more difficult to control, but has the same power as 10mm. I can shoot 150 rounds at a time with 10mm and it doesn't hurt my hands afterwards. The same can't be said for magnum revolvers. 357 and larger, in my experience, just not very pleasant to shoot after a few rounds

Lol I went target practicing 2 times and everytime I shot my g19 gen 5 I felt like I needed a bigger round because the 9mm feels just about the same as a 22lr. I also have to get a 50 round mag or higher because when at the range 30 rounds goes fast and feels like I havent shot anything. I plan to get a higher caliber. Might try the 40. I've heard the 10mm is just about the same as the 9mm

Glock is alright. Reliable and durable. With the Gen 5 9mms being released with the Glock Marksman Barrel, they're a bit more consistent with a Timny adjustable trigger and night sights

Sig Sauer is still superior in consistency and out of the box accuracy. Glock will hit a car 30 meters out. Sig will hit a beer can 30 meter out lol

@@GregoryGrone-vb7qe - The Glocks are safe to carry, can't say the same about the Sig P320. I'll stick with my P226, never had an issue with it, I've had many issues with the P320 lineup. I can hit a beer can at 50 yards pretty easily with a Glock, but I can do the same with any pistol because I don't rely on a specific brand to shoot well.

What 😂😂 mine ain’t bad at all. I’ve got a Springfield xdm 45 3.8 so it’s definitely not a full size pistol. It doesn’t kick that bad at all and the slide isn’t that bad. I’ll tell you a shitty pulling slide. A Ruger lc9s. For a 9mm that slide is like pulling a concrete block out of 3 feet of mud

Truly. Went shooting with someone a few months back and they had a Shield and a 1911. Hadn't fired a 1911 since i was about 13/14 (25 now) and had never fired a Shield. I was amazed how easy the 1911 was to control compared to what i remembered. The Shield, however, i absolutely hated. I could fire the .45 more accurately 1 handed than that 9mm with 2 hands. It's crazy how much of a difference it makes.

Had a cz 75 SP01 in .40 all steel and my God that was the best shooting .40 cal I every owned and I regret selling it now 😂

The .40 was designed to be shot out of full size or midsized pistols

Underwood makes gold dot loads for with the 165 and 180 gr bullets for .40 s&w. The load I prefer to run, the 165gr, is rated at 1200 fps. Most 147 gr loads are flying at about 1000 fps. Less bullet, less velocity, less energy delivered to the target, with identical bullet designs available for each cartridge? To keep it brief, I'll be sticking with the 165 gr load. You can do the math if you want. Gel tests and chrono are good enough for me. Caliber choice is really user specific, but for the vast majority of people 9mm is just generally the most available caliber on the market and it's not very difficult to become proficient with. But we're not gonna pretend to deliver the same energy as a .40 lmao... Statistics show it takes the same shooters less time to become proficient with 9mm firearms compared to the same gun chambered in .40. So gun shops just recommend what's popular and everyone tries to push 9mm as this Magic pill but it's really not that special in terms of modern handgun ballistics and there are some wildcat cartridges out there like 40 super that is basically a big 357 sig, so a 45 case and a 10mm pill. You get the idea. The one argument to be made for 9mm over 40 is really, capacity, and that's a fuckin stretch. 40 is ballistically superior. But not by so much that it really makes a huge difference, and if you're looking for more penetration, coated hardcast lead loadings will solve that shit real quick. My mom carries a Lil 38 special double action with soft points. Those get the job done just fine for what she has a gun for, which is mainly as a visual deterrent. Let's be honest. Statistics show that's how must defensive uses of firearms end up anyway. Zero shots fired. So really you can have a fuckin 22 as long as it's big enough that it's very clearly a fuckin gun and can fire projectiles on the off chance your attacker really wants to fuck around and find out. And don't forget. No matter what caliber you shoot. Always go woth bubbas pissin hot parkin lot loads for superior tactical function in your bullets.

This is the funny thing about 9mm guys … Standard 9mm is 124gr is 350ft-lbs. The +P is like 396 or so ft-lbs. 165gr .40 is around 470ft-lbs. if 50 ft lbs over standard 9mm “hits like a train”, then what does 70+ft-lbs over that train hit like with a bigger bullet going faster ? 😂

I love .40 carried a Glock 23 for 20+ years. I have carried 9mm with 124+P+, talk about snappy. I still like the heavier .40.

yeah fr. 40 cal is jus a weird middle where, if you want more stopping power , go .45 or 10mm, but if you want capacity and controllability, and don’t need all the power, mine aswell just get a 9mm.

Yes, I've heard the .40 has a snappy recoil with a muzzle flip that rises at an angle. The other two calibers you mentioned have a more vertical up and down recoil. So, getting the sights realigned for a follow-up shot may be easier with 9mm or .45.

There’s a KZfaq channel that did testing on the recoil of each caliber called “legally armed America” or something along those lines. He used glocks also and the same ammo I believe for consistency amongst the guns and ammo
