there was never a doubt about the outcome. magnus was toying with her. he is more than 800 points higher than her. she had no chance. when magnus says nice things it means it is over. in the game she says that move is not a good one about her own move, and magnus says all the other moves are not good either.
@Elthenar
@Elthenar Жыл бұрын
@@louiscyfer6944 That doesn't mean her game was weak. She did have game. Magnus is like Ali or Tyson in their prime. You can lose handily to one of those two men and still be an elite boxer. You don't suck, they were just that good. Magnus is just that good.
@louiscyfer6944

@@Elthenar 800 plus elo rating difference is a high school boxer going against tyson. no chance. anna is a good player, but not elite. far from it. her mom is excellent, still not elite. she has game, certainly beats me. magnus knew who she was when she sat down. i don't remember saying anywhere her game was weak.
@Elthenar

@@louiscyfer6944 I'll admit, I am not expert on the relative difference in elo amount a that high a level. The only point I was making is that she was no rando wandering the park. She is a well versed and skill player. She wasn't going to win but he presented a competent game. Anna would certainly beat the tar out of me and everyone I know. I wouldn't even sit down with Magnus any more than I'd try to play Lebron one on one. It would be sad for all involved, although he least there is little danger of Magnus putting me in the hospital.

I've thought for a couple years now that with just a couple more dynamic personalities chess could go full on WWE style with color and play-by-play commentators. It's a great game and, contrary to all the memes, can be a great watch on TV. It's ripe for a real modern explosion like poker got in the early 2000's.

I have had a passing familiarity with chess from a young age, it's never been a pursuit of mine, I find it too complicated and cannot drive myself to dedicate the kind of time it would take for me to become competent at it, as such many game commentaries are filled with terminology that goes way over my head. Yours do not. Clear, concise and entertaining, I can absolutely see myself enjoying your breakdowns for quite a while yet.

4:32 Can someone explain why not: black Ne2+ ( K and R fork)... white Rxe2, black Rxc1+ and then on black's next move Rc2 anyway !? 😯 After that, it would be difficult for Carlsen to make his Rd2 and control his pawn later. At the same time, the black rook would control the 3(c) open column and the game could continue possibly differently. I'm not a great chess player, just asking.
