I was holding a superworm using tongs so my gecko would eat it and stopped paying attention, so the mealworm smacked the gecko in the nose and now he won't eat superworms : |

My gecko if she doesn't eat her crickets right away and goes into her hide they jump on her then she eats them

Sometimes my male gecko just bites into the cricket, suddenly realizes he's not hungry and leaves it. Like ordering food and then remembering you're on a diet.

I’m so envious of your relationship with your lizards. They come when you are going to feed them and don’t seem to mind your handling them. I wish I was like this with my geckos. I have a leopard and crested, and they don’t seem to like me handling them. Love your content 💜🦎

Id suggest crushing the heads before feeding because of what you see in the video. It removes any chance of the worm biting the gecko while its being eaten or in the stomach. I say this from losing one of my beloved gecko boys because the worm caused internal bleeding, AFTER he swallowed it :(

Aw that's scary, i'm so sorry to hear that. I used to chop the heads off and then I read that I didn't need to and they got on really well eating them with heads on, but tbh I'll probably do that from now on.

Hi! So I got a 20 gallon for my leopard gecko and I was wondering what kind of light I should use? Are there any you recommend for a 20 gallon tank, Rebecca? Lights are so confusing for me lol. Anyway love your videos! Thanks! I just hope I’m not using anything to harm him...

I use 75 to 100 watt lights. It gets the tank between low to mid 80s. You could probably go a little higher in watts though.

I didn’t use a light; just a heat mat. Just depends, I suppose.

Hattie Roy id use a heat mat on a thermostat instead. The belly heat will be better for digestion.

VintageStealth he shed around 2 weeks ago and he is a juvie, he has not eaten since the shed... I do have a few crickets in his cadge because that’s what he was previously fed, I will hand feed crickets, meal worms, and or wax worms...

I’m sooo relieved you said they usually don’t eat as much at this time of year. Ive had my boy Bruce just over a year and he isn’t a big eater as it is, he can be so picky and he’s refusing food atm. just managed to order morioworms to try him on so fab timing for this video :D

Leopard geckos are so cute aswell 🥺 but unfortunately I am not too keen on the heating or all live insects. I do feed live insects to my crested gecko but not too much. I hate crickets 😫. They are so horrible and disgusting. They jump so much too. When I had frogs I had ten on my floor each night..... I don't want to repeat that 😨
