Impressive Finished 06 with 1,976 yds, averaging 6.6 ypc, and 157 pg. Drafted by Chicago 3rd round, blew a hammy 08 amassing 15 carries for 69 yds professionally

That OL did so much of the dirty work for him. Outstanding performance.

If the Transfer portal was around back then, he would’ve left NIU his senior year.

Nah, dude was tiny Doubt any team would've given him playing time Reason I liked watching schools like this then and why CFB was more fun then, you had players stay 4 years who were great in high school but something was missing (supposedly) so the big schools in the state didn't recruit or offer them Then you see guys show up and break records because they could develop and just overall become a fun player to watch To many players go to the big name with no business being there, reason you see so much fluctuation in teams being good to being bad because players need to develop (and can't because the competition prevents that) or just aren't good enough (even though the stars don't say so)

@@troylee4196thats why he wasn’t heavily recruited but if the transfer portal existed back then he would have definitely been recruited. His junior year he put up big number including against Michigan as the commentators mentioned. I agree with everything else you said though

I remember watching this guy his entire career!!! He's from my hometown Chicago, Illinois!!!! He went to Holy Cross Catholic High School... it's nnnnnnooooooo longer A Holy Cross but it's modern day name is Gueren Prep.... he's a naturally talented running back and undersized at that...he was a pocket rocket for real!!!! And could do it all!!! Run, catch, pass block, etc.... this guy was a real stud until he went pro to the bears..and got in some trouble with the law....I ain't here to judge but I fucks with Garrett Wolfe the long way...Representing for the Chicago Natives

Amazing how poor of a state that field was in for literally the first game of the season.
