I agree $500 in a year is a good measure for success. I am not there yet, but I hope to reach the goal next year. The quality of a website's content should be in consideration for success. One website outranks me on the first page, but nobody in my niche considers the website as a good site. In fact, KZfaqrs made fun of the website for horrible content.
