I teach using just one of many accents in the world. Please only learn it if you like it and if you are interested in learning it. I do not believe there is one “correct” accent or manner of pronunciation and I fully encourage EFL/ESL learners to expose themselves to as many varieties of English around the world to become accustomed to the beautiful variations of this world language. I focus mostly on teaching “Modern RP” (I may just say “RP” in my older videos, but to clarify, I do specifically mean “Modern RP”), however, you will hear a lovely little Yorkshire twang to my accent from time to time too. Please LOVE and BE PROUD of your accent. After all, it is part of your identity and makes you unique. 💚

Only just found this website (looking for something else needless to say) and I shall look at it again more specifically; Very interesting and even entertaining if you love the English language and pronunciation as so many of us do. (I'm getting on a bit and retain an old COD purely for its original simpler(?) pronunciation rules; Didn't even get on too well with their relatively more recent alternative/ update. What on earth is that pronunciation guide YOU use??!! It literally looks all Greek to me but I presume it's an industry standard. Can you point me in its direction please? It looks incredibly complicated but I speak out of complete ignorance. Love the way you acknowledge/embrace all of the incredible variety of our language. Many thanks. Will "Speak" again.

It looks like Greek because a lot of symbols are used in Greek. Search online for the International Phonemic Alphabet for more information.
