Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield met for the second time on November 13th 1999, in Nevada, USA. The bout would decide the WBA, WBC, IBF and vacant IBO championships.
The first bout, which had taken place 8 months prior, saw the men tie up in a judge's majority draw decision. Lennox and Evander gave their all in this explosive rematch of the ages.

@@Dante-vf4sd yeah possibly.. i dont know the actual punch tallies etc.of the second fight. I'll take your word for it. But you know you just know about a fight you've watched - especially a 2nd fight where you have something to compare it to. Whatever the size of Lennox victory in the 2nd fight, it was deserved and just and he was robbed in the 1st fight. Lennox is the best heavyweight I've ever seen. I started watching as a kid with my Dad from about 1990 onwards. He says maybe only Muhammad Ali was a better heavyweight. Great champion Lennox Lewis

@@alfredotacus8233 Holyfield was about as good as it got at this point in his career, he was the complete package and really lived up to his tag as the real deal and he was really smart and learned from his losses, he just came up against a fighter who was for me an all time top 3, when Lennox was on his game at his peak I don't see anyone getting close to him.

Lewis is one of the greatest ever ,and he is also a very humble person ,who learned from his defeats and never forgot where he was from , he could have fought in any decade against the best and he would have worked out a way to beat them . I was at the fight, my mom had moved to the u.s 4 years prior and Lewis did school him most of the fight. Lewis was robbed in the 1st fight with the draw decision and in this, the 2nd fight he beat him up with the jab n stayed away from the headbutts. Remember evander Holyfield was head butting him non stop in both fights like he did in all of his fights. Do u know evander had a tyre over the heavy bag in his gym at head height to practice his headbutt technique that was seen on his training video. If u think I’m lying look up where Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson spoke about it on a podcast, they were talking about Lewis vs tyson and they got discussing evander. That’s why tyson bit evanders ear, because he was butted non stop, he got cut by evander because of a butt too but mills lane who loved evander kept letting it go. Mills lane said he hated what tyson stood for and loved that evander was a religious man years later. Lewis said he has scars from the repeated headbutts from evander. He was a cheating wanker. Prime tyson would have fucked evander up and remember evander suddenly jumped in weight massively within 7 months, he was definitely on steroids. There is so much evidence to support this.

You must be joking. Holyfield was 5yrs older than Lewis, fought 24 consecutive rounds with him and stood on his feet in the end. Lewis didn't school Evander, he won fair and square, but there wasn't any "schooling". Lewis was a great champion, one of the best ever and was in much better shape by that time. What Holyfield did there was one great display of endurance and skill. Look to Tyson (who was 4yrs younger than Evander) vs Lewis in comparison. Age comes for everyone. Any old champion from any era would lose to a fit Lennox Lewis, and many for a larger difference.

Holyfield was past it... he would of beaten Lewis if they had fought 4-5 years earlier... Lewis got to both holyfield and tyson at the right time..

Judges knew they couldn’t steal for Holyfield again by calling another draw so they hard to give it to Lennox with the slightest advantage. How the first fight was a draw is pure robbery in sports. Lewis won that hands down. I am a fan of Holyfield too but they cheated for him.

@@philthompson7318 He didnt give Lewis all he could handle. Not even close. He was dominated in both fights, and won a max of 4 or 5 rounds out of 24. Evander is only 4 years older than Lennox. Evander looks washed in these fights because he got dominated and spent all night eating jabs from Lennox. Nobody shut down Evander's offence like Lennox did. You clearly dont appreciate the sweet science

Someone mentioned the key thing below - Holyfield's match with Bean. What people don't know is that it was in 1998 when Holyfield started to lose his skills. I'm not the one saying that, it was written by a man whom everyone loved to read on an American forum; the guy sparred with a lot of champions at that time and he says that it was in the preparations for the Bean fight that people began to notice that Holyfield is losing his skills. And then you go and watch that match and in round 5 amoung other things he is tired, there is no longer real Holyfield that we know from before, and it is clear how right this man was. Holyfield no longer had the energy he had in his best days, there's was no speed and the ability to deliver a large number of blows so these ramblings that he was at his peak in 1999., had the experience, power, are simply not true and are coming from the people who score this match as the last subjective scoundrels saying Lewis won the rematch convincingly, which is by no means true and since we are talking about boxing and unification of titles, you have to give more and leave a mark in the match, and not just win half of the rounds barely and then add up those rounds and then you're like a winner. It is very miserable to score pawing jabs and punches that were not strong and noticeable and then write that Lewis hit many more punches, yes in the first match, but not here.

I don't see any schooling LOL what I do see is a fix I'm sure Evander had all his money on Lennox Lewis LMAO Evander Holyfield and Tommy Hitman Hearns we're two of my very favorite Fighters I even write Roberto Duran anybody that went toe-to-toe with Roberto would end up on the canvas! But one of the greatest by SIA ever saw was with George Foreman and Evander Holyfield because just to get grazed by a punch from George Foreman could knock you in the next week I used to love boxing

I'd have reversed the scores for the respective fights. And like so much else in Boxing, this fight should have occurred 7 years earlier when both men were in their primes. Holy looks slow AF and even the younger LL wasn't at his sharpest.
