So, Mom's experience is exactly what my Sister experienced while attending same community college as my Niece- her daughter. My Niece said my Sister was more popular than her. I loved hearing that!

I remember my freshman orientation. My mom came with and I was 17! Lots of parents came along. They were all so proud and bragging about is. It was mortifying.

It’s the simple moments like these in this series make me happy. Still holding the core of the issue but it gets sorted out very nicely. Well executed series , and very good casting.

This was a fun episode. It was nice seeing Mary having a good time and not being a mother or wife - just being herself.

This is exactly how it feels when my dad drives me to my college campus. He works remotely so he'll do his work at the study area in one of the science buildings while I'm in class. While I'm crying over due dates and exams my dad is getting to know the custodians, some professors, and even helping students find their classrooms. He's literally having more fun in college than me 😆😭

I love Mary. Everyone can accept Missy,Georgie, Connie's and George Sr flaws . But not Mary's flaw. She can work and break her bone for her family whole day. But ppl will judge her coz she is religious .

One of this show's greatest Strength's and Weaknesses is it's tie to TBBT. So much of these characters is already written, and they're having to basically fill in the blanks in such a way that doesn't conflict with where these characters ended. And that's so sad to me. I'd love to have seen a version where Mary sees the joys of college and actually attends herself, and learns more about the world. It would've helped her so much, and been fantastic for her growth as a person. Sadly, her tale is already written.

I found myself hoping these guys will show up at their house at some point.

Sheldon once described using Leonard & Howard as "tools" to drive him around (Otters & rocks). I hope he didn't think of his mother that way. May be a genius, but can be a real jerk sometimes.

My parents and brother walked me around campus at orientation. And I was not the only one there with their whole family in tow. Sam is awesome. ❤️

Mary will always try to strike a connection with people, she's never closed off. Even in TBBT she made efforts to help the gang with their problems, even if she would turn preachy real quick. She's a giving soul.

I started my university career in 1988. So, the same time period of this show. I was always told university is for those that are young. However, women around Mary Cooper's age that are moms made up a large majority of the student population. It maybe like that a state university, but it might be different at a private university. So, if someone like Mary Cooper was in one of my university classes, no one would find it unusual. As a matter of fact. they would be very welcome and the university would take the extra steps to get this type of students enrolled in classes. ex. more financial aid and easier admission requirements. Again, it might be because my state university was very liberal when it came to student diversity. So, it maybe different at a private university.

Marry spoiled him. Sam, although she was just a teenager, did have a lot impact on Marry just in a day, and also gave her a nice day, and more than that, she unconciously help Marry saw that that school is a nice place with nice people, and it's good for Sheldon to learn in safe, at the same time gradually introduce Sheldon with independence and some basics about growing up. The unrealistic thing is that the college kids were so full of empathy, they was very grateful to things, like ads I saw from schools. I think, just for me, some parents would love to have their girl grow to be like Sam, she brings joys to other, makes impact naturally, not pushing. Now, would the way Marry raised Sheldon would help him be 1/10 of Sam in term of social life? For god sake, he negletted of the human part of himself: his feeling, his boo boo. His decisions were all heavily affected by his ignorerance, and he belived that he was logical; deep down the choice to make logicaly decisions (yeah, too people's face!) are linked to his ignorance. Like Amy said in the last episode of TBBT: his friends tolerated him because he was not intended to hurt them.
