For the second volleyball video any thing that is only connected to the ceiling is considered playable as long as the ball stays on the same side of the court that the ball was originally hit into the ceiling from. If something is connected to the ceiling and wall or connected to the wall it is considered out. In this situation the ref considered the rafters a part of the ceiling but I imagine the air vents were considered out. This should be communicated to the teams before the game tho.
