I'm surprised that the quiet delivery with everyone giving timid "um"s could hold up so much tension. If anything I think it helped because everyone seemed so nice at first

I had to help clean up my business partner's record shop after the river Lee flooded, his shop is in one of the basements, and every record he had in boxes under the shelves got ruined. he lost THOUSANDS in records. The worst parts were that A) The worst of the flooding was because of blocked drains since the county council hadn't cleaned the drains properly, and B) that the flood happened in the morning while he was there. He was running around trying to save things as he watched the water come up around him. It happened too fast to really do anything except save his newer mixers. We had a vintage board that had been given to him by a friend that we had to send away for extensive repairs and still wasn't able to be fully recovered.😅😅

Records are made of vinyl. Water can't damage them.

@@TheAnantaSesa yes it can. They warp with damp. And also when the paper sleeves get wet they get into the grooves. When you have 1000+ records getting wet paper into the micro-grooves they're fucked whether the vinyl warps or not. It would take a RIDICULOUS amount of time to clean them all, given they didn't warp. (And they do absolutely warp with a few hours of being fully covered in water.)

Wow, I'm feeling like I've just watched a kind of mexican soap opera (you know, the villain trying so hard to mess up with the protagonist life in a especif way and being caught up in the final) and I did love it ! I also like the format of this video, because it seems like those short vertical videos on tik tok or KZfaq, with one person playing all characters, but it's even better cause it's a long developted story (for social media standards) and that's awesome !!!❤

I mean, he said that in a four eyes conversation and she has no way to prove his involvement (unless some camera footage from the bakery survived and shows him cutting the wires), so immediately firing him would be a dumb move. He is the grandson of a Karen after all, he'd sue her and win. "Guy has a crazy grandma" alone is not a reason for instant dismissal. I'd give him his regular notice, though.

I thought the USA was the country where you could fire your low wage employees willy nilly because they think employee protection laws and worker's unions are the creation of the devil. ;-) I don't know how it's in Ireland, but it's part of the EU and there are minimum standards for employee protection, so I'm pretty sure instant dismissal without being able to prove any offense wouldn't fly there either.

@@chrisrudolf9839 I feel there should be an asterisk there sadly. Don't forget that in a sudden downsizing, German employment law rounds off to: "last in = first out". Found that out the hard way when I moved to Hamburg to work for a studio that revealed a drastic downsizing a week and a half after I started, before they'd even finished the paperwork to get me a tax ID or a legal address. (They advised everyone incoming to AirBnB for the first month and onboarding would help with flat hunting) A hell of a lot better than the crap that's legal in the US, but I'm still dealing with the health effects of that stressful period in my life. (Literally written on my phone in my GP's waiting room awaiting an EKG to see if I can safely start a different therapy for treatment-resistant depression.)

I know it's a sad story that the bakery was destroyed, but I had to laugh at "Where is the door?" "Probably like Germany?" On a serious note, that would be the time to fire Alex, and press charges against Carol and Alex. Probably a restraining order for good measure.

My town sits on a big river- we flood every few years- we literally have metal retaining walls that get put up down Main Street to try and protect the shops as much as possible!-it’s quite a sight to see!- they’re over 6feet tall!

Eerily similar to the the story of how our house was first flooded in 1998, turns out my aunt who first bought the place had not noticed a faulty hose for the washing machine in the apartment upstairs. We came home and the whole basement was flooded that day. Then a few months later, while renovations were going on to fix the place, there was a massive fire that ruined pretty much the whole building. I was too young to even care, but what was worse for me was the relatives who I was forced to stay with while all this crap was going on. That really devastated me. I have tons of problems being myself as a result of these things.

As someone who's experienced flood damage in two homes - that's on me for living in low lying places - I know the feeling of loss that comes from it, as far as other risks involved. Poor Alice!! It's at times like this when people's true selves are shown. Lola's absolutely lovely!!

Damn... every person in forensics wishes for cases like these, where it's just a chill gathering of evidence when you know what and where... even if most of it was destroyed by the rain... but it also means there is less paperwork cataloguing everything. It's always nice with entitled pieces of sh... people, who just believe they are in the right so they just admit to the guilt...
