as a guy I 100% get what Jared was saying about the whole "slutty" label. I've had partners who were into verbal degradation and had similar conversations because I needed them to outline what terms were cool to use because, as a man, I feel like words like slut are kind of... charged? They can be hot buttons, not slur level but I'm definitely not just letting them rip to a friend, girlfriend, lover, etc.

I have a video request if possible Shannon. Can you give us a tour of life for you for a week? How you stay so productive, how you maintain discipline to do you bulk shooting/writing papers. Do you ever feel like you wasted a day lost on social media or, before having a baby, just lying in bed watching tv? I know that’s not as possible anymore with a baby, but just want to know how you maintain such a strong work ethic when your baby, partner, friends, etc all pull for your attention.. how you draw boundaries, etc. Your work ethic is admirable!

Loved this talk! I have the luck to be in a pretty healthy relationship and we both are gradually opening up to our sexual preferences (the less common kinds) but sometimes i still feel it gets hard to communicate clearly on both parts. This is a really great one!! 7:37 I love this conversation bc I have been thinking I do get excited by the idea of teasing and feeling slutty leading upto or during the encounter. However, if I'm dating someone or simply talking to a guy and him saying 'she was a slut' in reference to some other girl for watever reason I wouldn't like his language and in fact that would be a major turn off. I also hope guys watching this video recognize the theme that we all don't have the same turn on triggers nd just bc 'slut or slutty' was an exciting term for an ex doesn't mean the current one will be approving of or comfortable with that. I was getting a little confused with my relation with the word 'slut' so thank you Shan for the clarity!
