The worst is when you agree to a race before you see him with a Gan and he makes you feel like an idiot for bragging about your 27 second pb

One time I saw a person cubing and I was like "Should I talk to him? Nah it would be weird."

My best cubing in public story, I was at the shop having my car undercoated amongst other things, and I brought my 8x8. The service manager looked at it and said “you’re a glutton for punishment”, then after I solved it I got the most mild applause. Of course one person had to say “I used to peel the stickers off” 😂

What I normally do when I’m in public in the public is just spam M perms and I can over hear them saying OMG SO FAST😂

I cube at work during my breaks, in the break room or the lunch room/restaurant - people are so amazed that anyone can solve the cube; even though I average 2+ minutes, they can't believe it is solved!

I'm allways super excited and the other person usually doesn't really care, I have met a total of 2 people who actually cubed and liked to talk about it. Speedcubing isn't really a thing where I live tho, I see a cuber in public maybe once every two months or smth

Once a girl in my class brought a Rubik’s brand cube and it was on her desk. I asked her if I could do it even though there was only one minute left before the bell rang and I said I could complete it before the bell rang and she said ok so I completed the cube (1 minute like and yeah I guess it is kinda slow) and not only she was kind of impressed but my history teacher was all of a sudden there and said something like: « Wow, you’re fast! » was so funny and I felt so awesome all of a sudden even if I’m not really honestly 😂

One time, I was solving my cube in English class (the teacher knew that I was, but I get good grades so none of my teachers mind when I cube in school) and I was solving the cube, not thinking anyone was paying attention to me, but then I finished and this kid yelled from across the room, “Oh my gosh, she solved the Rubik’s Cube!!” I didn’t really know what to say there. 😆

One time, I was at a rec. center with my dad and youth minister watching my younger brother’s basketball game. All three of us know how to solve cubes and my youth minister (we’ll call him Kevin) and I both brought cubes. Kevin was working on one and my dad was solving the one that I had brought. The skill level with cubes between the three of us goes me, Kevin, and my dad. He still has trouble remembering what to do sometimes. One boy who was waiting to play saw my dad and told him that he could solve one too. My dad was annoyed because the kid broke his concentration, but he gestured to me and said, “Yeah, she’s really good too.” And the kid turned to me and said, “What’s your fastest time? I bet I could beat you.” He told me his fastest time after I told him mine and he was faster, but I was still annoyed because he came over and talked to us simply to brag. And he could’ve phrased it better than *I bet that I could beat you.*

When I cube somewhere, everyone thinks it's cool, but they are not really interested in the stories around it. And if you do it for too long they just loose their interest or even start to hate it and that makes me sad 🥲
