This is all fine and dandy, until you realize it's covered by a heatsink and plastic cover so you can't actually reach the connector without taking the I/O shield off, disassembling pretty much the entire system

@@vidsurfer0725my mother board is fried rn after updating to a newer bios version. so I’m thinking about replacing the battery but the fact that I have to dissemble everything is annoying. ontop of that I just put everything in a new case lol

i don't have atm, but there is a simple lock mechanism that you need to push

How much force do you need to pull the connector? My fingers hurt, i feel like I'm any to break it. Are there locks in place i need to disengage? Thank you so much and great work.

not much force and there is no lock, for new motherboards you can use tweezers to separate them. It might be challenging initially, but it gets easier over time."

the new ram must have the same speed (mhz) as the old one if you are going to plug them both together. at times it is better to have new and old ram with same manufacturer and speed otherwise there will be problems. try clearing cmos if you can't see any display, here how kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iZ-YrKiBuay2YWQ.html

yes, make sure the mobo seats with no cmos battery for 5 minutes

if you are talking about the pin connecting to the motherboard then you need to use a small tweezers

there a name and voltage info in the black plastic covering, check what's yours and look for it in online stores, there are a lot specially in amazon

@@MacCoyzkie ehh, it's just a shrink wrapped cr2032 with spot welded contacts. I prised them off, slipped a new battery in, and wrapped it in electrical tape. I set the time and I'm giving it a chance to test if it works by letting it sit without power for a while.

@@TyPlant hopefully u didn't ripped one of the cables from the white little plug. you need to use something to push it down. there is notch in the plug so make sure it is aligned

Maaaan, on an MSI B560i MPG they put that stupid thing way inbetween 2 pieces that your fingers coant even fit. I had to use tweezers to disconnect it, and I'm sure in 4 minutes and 12 seconds I will be using every profanity known to man while I attempt out that back in there with tweezers. Doesn't help I'm.all jittery from coffee 😩

my battery is facing sideways and is behind the heat sink located between the cpu and back of board. I don't see how to remove this heatsink from the top of the board. Does it screw in from the back side? z370n

that's the downside of itx builds, you really have to remove those headsink first before you can do this, on the other hand why not just go to bios and load optimize defaults kzfaq.info9IWjDYFCLJI

@@avriljordan2679 if you got a large gpu it's probably covering the cmos battery. it's under the top pcie slot. you need to remove the gpu in order for you to see it

buy a new one and place it like i did in this video, usually itx cmos battery are covered with that black plastic too, hopefully you can find one online
