Typically, in-ceiling speakers cannot be moved to accommodate changes to the room layout. You would need to keep the same general positioning of the TV and various furniture in the room so the in-ceiling speakers will still be in the proper locations to produce the necessary audio.

Are you wanting to do a full surround setup with the in-wall speakers? If so, how many speakers total? Is there room for a subwoofer to sit on the floor anywhere in your room?

That is an excellent location for the two surround speakers! Also, it is recommended to put them on pedestals or stands so they are closer to ear level.

That is a good alternative location!

I am thinking you mean couch when you mentioned clutch. As long as this is correct, in-ceiling speakers should be installed so their audio travels towards ear level for people sitting on the couch.

You have a bit of wiggle room with the rear speakers depending on what sounds best to you, and your room size. As far as the subwoofer, it is generally recommended that you place the sub on the ground.

They can be used as surround speakers! That might be a bit more speaker than is needed for surround audio but if you have 2 pairs of them or a better pair to use as the front speakers, then using them as surround speakers would be just fine

Try moving the sub around to different locations and listening to find what gives you the best bass at that spot. From there, you could consider adding a second sub for even fuller bass distribution.

You need discreet speakers for each channel.

If possible, you'd want to arrange the surround speakers to point directly towards the main seated area within your room. You can also tinker with the mounting location/angle of the surround speakers on your own to figure out what sounds best to you. Hope that helps! --Crutchfield

Point them directly at you or slightly at you if they are behind you

Never point the surrounds directly at your ears, the whole point of the surrounds is for the ambient sounds you want them facing towards your front speakers. If you point them directly at you that will be too localized and ruin the surround ambient effects of the movie. Sorry Crutchfield but your wrong on your advice about the surround speakers.

Benjamin D Minor this was true back in the days before atmos when surrounds were basically tacked on atmospheric audio. Atmos changed the spec however and the audio is rendered in a dome and spills out of whatever speaker you have placed around you. You actually want balanced direct radiating audio all around you now. Ideally you actually want the same exact speakers but a timbre matched satellite works well too

If u put them directly on the side if u got 2 or more ppl sitting next to u it will block the sound either from left or right depends wat side u sit my set up been done from a guy at imax he used a 7.2.4 klipsch for me he put the 2 speaker that sit on the side 1 foot forward but have a slight angle towards my sitting position so that all who is sitting gets the sound from left and right please take note weather u buy a 7.2.4 or a 11.2 most movies do not support the format i bought the 7.2.4 coz it was going cheap but still with newer movies sounds amazing and just a little advice if u can or if u do have a big room u can make the klipsch floor standing speakers thats in the front of room built in wall do not buy any in wall speakers with out enclosures the sound crappy

We do not recognize that system. Online searches point to a Logitech Z906 system. If this is the one you are referring to, we must let you know that we do not have any experience with it to know its performance. I would put them off the wall a bit. How far will depend on your room and how you want it to sound. Play with is, until it sounds the best to you!

Your sound bar should be mounted below your television, either on a shelf, or stand, you can also use a sound bar wall mount with some sound bars, or even attach a sound bar mount to an existing wall-mounted TV by using a compatible sound bar mount. For your subwoofer, we recommend moving the subwoofer around the room if able, to find the desired listening position for the sub. Typically, customers find it suitable to have the subwoofer placed to the left or right of TV area.

Have you put the sub in your listening position and then crawled around the room listening for the loudest/best sounding spot. Then put the sub in that spot. Go to audioholics website for pics

if you have a 5.1 system then the surround speakers would go to your sides close to the height of where your head would be while seated. a 7.1 system with an extra 2 speakers would go more towards what you are talking about
