You need to pass 2 exams to earn the Cisco CCNP certification: The ENCOR 350-401 core exam, and one of the concentration exams.
That’s where it gets complicated. There are 6 different concentration exams! Which one should you pick?! In this video, CBT Nuggets trainer Knox Hutchinson (‪@DataKnox‬) will walk you through the concentration exams, and let you know which one he thinks is your best bet.

On the advice of this video, I decided to take the ENSLD before the ENCOR. I have since passed the ENSLD exam, and I'm now studying for the ENCOR exam. I have to say, that was a really good bit of advice. I'm several hours of study time in and the biggest difference between the two so far is, the ENSLD goes a lot more into the theory and details of how a protocol or service works, but the ENCOR goes into the process of configuring the service/protocol. I really like that approach. If you are interested getting CCNP Enterprise, I would definitely give the ENSLD+ENCOR serious consideration.

I checked CBT's site on subscription options (monthly & annual). is there any diff bet. the 2 aside from the cost? or do the 2 options differ also on included materials and features (like inclusion of virtual labs, practice exams, coaching, etc., as compared to INE's)... thanks

Can you take SCOR (security) and ENARSI (enterprise) to get CCNP (enterprise) ?
@cbtnuggets
@cbtnuggets 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Naz, thank you for your question! To earn the CCNP Enterprise certification, you need to earn the ENCOR core exam plus 1 specialty, from the set of: ENARSI, ENSDWI, ENSLD, ENWLSD, ENWLSI, or ENAUTO. The SCOR is a Security exam, associated with the CCNP Security. More info on the CCNP Enterprise can be found here: www.cisco.com/c/en/us/training-events/training-certifications/certifications/professional/ccnp-enterprise.html#~exams

@kckoellein

@@readbeforeyoureply64 I do not see "most jobs say they want CCNP". In fact, I see a disgusting number of jobs hiring with nothing. Outsourcing is murder. Keep looking. If you have CCNA, you should be able to get "a job"...a solid living wage job. Maybe the job title you are pursuing is out of your league without a CCNP? In that case, if you just got your CCNA and dont have your CCNP and havent even worked in the field yet, you GENUINELY have no business in a position that "requires" a CCNP. Just get a Network-related job to get started. From there, work on your CCNP and every month in a CCNA job is like a 1-UP on getting a CCNP job once you have the cert. You need at least a year on your resume to convince people to give you a CCNP job... honestly, I wouldnt feel safe applying for a CCNP job until you have about 5 years experience, at least from an embellished resume perspective. Good luck!

@@kckoellein everytime I apply I go for entry level jobs or just "CCNA" jobs but I rarely get replies and most network technician/admin/engineer jobs say CCNP as a requirement. I have been trying to learn and push for CCNP maybe that can push me a step further since I lack work experience. Maybe if I had experience I'd be hired but I don't, everything I know is from labs, I lab everyday, I do configs everyday to practice so I am just hoping if I get a CCNP it would bring me closer.

Does anyone have experience as to how CCNP concentration exam in security compares to CompTIA Security + ?
@statiiic
@statiiic 2 жыл бұрын
TBH, they are on completely different planes with CCNP being well above. Sec+ is an intermediate level cert that the average person can study and probably pass in about 2-4 months. CCNA took me about 4 months of studying but I'd also been working in the field for 2 years at that point. If you are going to start somewhere, that's where I would start. If you want an easier networking cert to start with Network+, but not gonna lie it's not super useful on its own but the knowledge from it is! CCNP takes that to the next level and you will likely be studying for closer to 8-12 months, in addition will be expected to have some years of real world experience to help you along the way. This is of course, my opinion, and from my own observations and your mileage may vary.

@@satyamdubey8836 I believe a lot of these cloud networks are being deployed behind next generation firewalls and Cisco firepower is also software and hardware based and can be used on none Cisco networks. As to what is in demand that it would depend on where you live, I'd use Dice, Indeed, and Zip recruiter in order to find network security job listings and seen what is a common skill set employers are looking for. In my area (Denver Colorado) firewall experience is in in demand and the ability to deploy firewalls behind clouds services and knowledge of identity services help. So it's looking like you might have to do both SNCF and SISE.
