Here's my list of folk metal bands that spans all inhabited continents Diablo Huma- Equador Hiddenland- Equador Cemican- Mexico MiracleOfSound-Ireland (look up his songs Sirona, Grainn Mahoil and Tale of Cu Chullain) Alestorm- Scotland (it's pirate metal but some people count it?) Tyr- Faroe Islands Percival- Poalnd/ Pan slavic Arkona-Russia Rune-Serbia Mägo de Oz-Spain Po' Metra Crijeva- Croatia (the band name means half a meter of guts) Manntra-Croatia Brkovi- Croatia (more of a punk band but look up their song "Ovce" a MAGICAL blend of rap, metal a, punk and folk influences) Metaklapa- Croatia (This one is weird ... they do covers of metal songs in traditional Dalmatian singing style .. for example they did Aces high) Dubioza Kolektiv- Bosnia & Hertzegovina (DO NOTE! This band is called a band with no genre for a reason! they varry from Regge R&B To Folk-Metal-Punk ... compare their "Space song" and "No escape from Balkans") Arka'n Asrafokor- TOGO (also worth of note is Skinflint from Botswana but they don't ussualy have much folk elements) Al-Namrood- Saudi Arabia (They played metal when it was punishable by death... IT DON'T GET MORE HARDCORE THAN THAT!) Hassak- Kazakhstan (it's an ethno band but listen to their song Amanat and tell me it don't belong on a metal concert) The Hu- Mongolia Nine Treasures - China/Inner Mongolia DreamSpirit- China Wagakki band- Japan Nini music- Taiwan BLOODYWOOD- India Alien weaponry- New Zealand Shepherds Reign- New Zealand/Samoa

There is nothing unique about them dont tell me you havent listened to this type of music in every truck, cab, weddings in North India they just added a down tuned guitar on top of it. I live in Delhi and THIS type of music is exactly why I started listening to metal. This stereotypical north indian bhangda music fused with downturned distorted guitar is definitely not the best thing Indian Metal scene has to offer.

Many thanks, Steve, for giving Bloodywood a spot here! I stumbled across your video and became a die-hard fan of this band, they're so freaking awesome. Beside the brilliant music, they also have a beautiful and strong message for the world on many important topics that I can relate so hard to. Haven't been this excited about a band FOR YEARS, it fills me with joy and really puts a smile in my face to see them being discovered more and more and playing bigger and bigger shows. Thanks again, man! Cheers from Uruguay, South America!

I can't disagree, many others exist as well, but they may just be the top 3 that doesnt include the many forms of metal from Japan (hint Death Note's theme and many other metal anime one along with reg metal from Japan) As an American I know most Euro and American ones but too many foreign/further east bands sadly don't get the credit they deserve.

For me it was Band Maid (Japan), The Warning (Mexico) and also Babymetal but Babymetal for their concerts. Babymetal is a completely superior product live or a live recording. I'm pushing 50 so I don't have the testosterone for angry music all the time. I need some happy music too now. Happy rock/metal is great too. I think Bloodywood sounds great but seems too emo angry.

Pole here, Dziady (in English: Forefathers’ Eve) is a Slavic holiday, dedicated to the spirits. It allowed you (presumably) to contact the other side. After the Christianity entered the Polish territory, Dziady was forbidden, and the practitioners were persecuted. Not fully successfully. Dziady stopped being celebrated across the country, but in many places (preferably distant from the religious centers) was practiced for many years. Our ancestors made sure to appropriately accommodate deceased relatives. Food and drinks were left for the souls. The important function of dziady was also to help spirits to get to the other side. To assist them, people were lighting the campfires, that were showing them the right direction.

This band and their SambaRock as they called it was introduced by them in early 90s as people like them and me trying to find our place in western music culture among other races in Malaysia being accustomed to Indian style classic music from India itself. Since we couldn't match India we mixed both and this is one of the many mixture of music culture that came out. Hi Steve I'm from Malaysia and proud that you took time to highlight our country in this video. But honestly who in the flying fork recommended Darkkey? Its probably a prank by someone. 😑 Believe me, theres tons of Metal here to check out. you can start with the legendary Cromok.

Steve, i have my personal favorite. It's the one from India. I'm hearing 2 music genres in this one...metal and r&b/rap beat. India is my favorite of all. Brazil the same format. This is pretty freaking awesome!!!!!!!

Steve this is seriously interesting. This really needs to become a regular ongoing theme on your channel. I always wanted to see someone go over different metal songs from all over the world. This would be awesome to see done every so often to keep abreast of the metal scene across the globe. I love this hope you make this a part of your content for the long haul....

India with Bloodywood is actually INSANE but I personally react to a lot of Indonesian music so I have to say that Indonesian metal is really underrated around the world but sooo freakin cool Steve! You should check Deadsquad or Burgerkill because they are absolutely insane! Where a country might have one or two or even 3 great metal bands, Indonesia 🇮🇩 has a lot! 🤘 P.s. daaamn I wants expecting rhat band from Malaysia to be sooo SIIIIK 🤣
