Modular and integrated pilot training. Which flight school, pilot training or flight training should you choose? The flight training consists of two parts, a theoretical and a practical part. Those parts can be divided into multiple programs or phases and I will take you through all of them. I will also explain the difference between a modular and integrated flight training course and why it is important to ask flight schools about their programs and/or syllabus.
Which FLIGHT SCHOOL/FLIGHT TRAINING Should You Choose? INTEGRATED or MODULAR Pilot Training?

If I may bother you for a moment; Just now I am on 1StepPrep Professional Pilot Training Published on Mar 21, 2019 and the absolute very first words aspirated for Stall Recover is Unload the wing so this is instructors that have taught type rating programs for airlines and 142 training center ~ I have strong feelings on this which do not adapt to what I consider to be uh; Not how I would fly the airplane; There are many schools and any instructor _can_ be at any of them so since Human Relations is given such heavy emphasis currently; I suggest to discuss what to do if one wants another instructor better suited to persons nature

Hey DPG, It seems like the “modular” route has the best of both worlds.. It’s cheaper & less stressful, and surely more enjoyable! I would definitely choose modular option. A good student pilot should do very well in either training type I would have thought 💭
@Nghilifa
@Nghilifa 5 жыл бұрын
I´m doing the modular way right now. Don´t regret it for a second. Also, worth keeping in mind is that if you go down the integrated route, in some cases you might end up with nothing if you have to quit (i.e they give you all the certificates when you complete the course) .

Better to go to Embry- Riddle and get a degree in aeronautical studies & flight technology. That gets you up through commercial instrument multi engine. Then get CFIA&I. The airlines like a degree- PROFESSIONAL pilot program better! Plus it makes it easy to go back for graduate programs up through PhD. Bigger bucks!!

Interesting, we don't use these terms for pilot training in the USA. We have part-61, part-141, part-142, and the term ab-intio. The "parts" are chapter sections of the federal aviation regulations. Ab-initio training (latin for from the beginning) is probably what you call integrated training, this takes a person with zero training all the way to a copilot at an airline. Generally this is partly sponsored by an airline in exchange for an agreement to work for the airline a minimum number of years. This training may also favor training to the standards and procedures of the sponsoring airline rather than general skills that are not often used transport jets. Ab-initio is not common in the USA as we have much larger general aviation and military aviation base from which to promote commercial transport pilots. All sponsored training that I have found in the USA requires the applicant to hold a minimum of a commercial pilot certificate. The contract for work must be written with great care to be legal, the USA has some strict regulations around labor contracts, intended to combat debt-bondage and peonage. Part-142 is simulator based training primarily for type ratings in specific transport aircraft. Part-141 describes a certain type of school, 141 training is a complete course with a single school, although each certification is a separate course [private, instrument, etc. can each be at a different school], it is designed with an approved syllabus and lesson plans to be followed by all CFIs at that school, and an approved set of planes.(specific tail numbers held to 141 inspection/maintenance standards) There are slightly reduced minimum flight experience requirements as compared to part 61 training. (both total time and specific tasks like solo cross country time) Larger 141 schools may also be authorized to perform certain certifications in house so passing the course also gains automatic certification, no need to schedule a separate practical test with an FAA examiner. While there is no maximum time frame or schedule, 141 does have intermediate stage checks with chief instructors and generally encourages regular lessons and steady progress. 141 will also lose certification if they fail general FAA inspections, or a certain percent of graduates(20% from memory) fail to pass the certification test on the first attempt. Part-61 does not regulate pilot schools, this section describes specific qualifications a student must meet for each certificate and rating; "part 61 training" does not require a specific set of lessons, time, or sequence of lessons; part 61 only requires that the student has the minimum total time, number of landings, ground instruction time, and a few other logbook items, and that the student be able to pass the FAA certification tests. Actual training can be from any combination of CFIs, in any combination of airplanes and locations, and in any order; 61 training can also start and stop over several years.

I have a question: Do flight numbers mean anything or are they randomly assigned? I know the numbers on runways indicate how they are oriented, and here in the US, highways are numbered based on various factors including orientation. Do flight numbers say anything about the direction etc?

Thanks for the nice video... When you say modular course, you mean by that a study/training outside a flyschool ? Lets say, getting first PPL (within a flyclub), IR, CPL ETC. ? And after getting CPL, what is your advise to reach the 1500 hours trying to get a job. I imagine that students from a specific flyschool have preference within the airline the flyschool is commited to !
@mikep9604
@mikep9604 4 жыл бұрын
For example you can first choose a flight school where you get a PPL. After that you can e.g. build more flight hours, and you can set your own schedule when you want to continue your training. When you are ready to get the CPL you can return back to the flight school where you got your PPL, or you can choose a totally different flight school to get your CPL, IR and multi engine rating. When you do your training by modular courses you can choose the best options for you regarding your situation. After you got the CPL it's also possible to get a CFI (certified flight instructor) rating and work as an instructor and build more flight hours to reach 1500 hours. It can also be possible that some skydiving clubs will hire a pilot to fly their aircraft and that is one way to build more flight hours.

When you complete the course (for example, the modular course), it means that after the course you have your pilot license. So before you start your flight training you have to make a choice between these courses and choose one of these two courses.

I don't think I can afford the intense 12-month integrated program here in Canada so I plan on working while completing my PPL then getting a Loan for the CPL and ratings. It will take me longer but 70K over 3 years is more manageable than 59K in 1 year. Flight colleges putting on both training are adamant about the integrated programmes because they get P-P-P-Paid sooner with guarantees. What about you guys/girls?

If you plan to work at a European airline you need an EASA ATPL. If you want to work e.g. in the USA you need an FAA ATP certificate. And in Europe an airline can hire you when you have your CPL/frozen ATPL. Compared to FAA ATP certificate the main difference is that FAA requires that you have 1500 flight hours before you can work as a first officer at an airline.
