I used to play Warframe long ago and i liked Ash but didn't enjoy the game as much. I gave the game another chance and now i'm addicted, i heard about the changes to his farming locations and honestly the developer responsible for this change should just be fired and banned from being a developer on any game or company.

For sure! Grineer Manics aren't really an easy unit to farm. I found that out the hard way. Gave up and started farming something else. By the time I thought about regular ash (bought prime with plat while he was cheap) i had several sets.

Thankfully, I was blessed with an absolute saint of a player for my first prime. It was an inaros prime, and he gave me the entire set for free, for the measly 2 platinum I had at the time. I asked him why, and he simply said he knew how hard the first prime is. To this day I still remember this man, one of the few angels and saints who wander the proverbial landscape of this game.

Fun Fact: before Equinox’s Prime came out it actively took me one entire month to get all the parts due to how much one or two just didn’t wanna drop. Granted there’s a few breaks here n there so assume about 2 weeks or something

@Warmare while the tile set blows, there are abilities that just ignore all LoS and kill everything on the entire map every few seconds. Makes those missions really fast. Does admittedly need some very specialised builds.

I'm not exactly new to Warframe but still missing a lot of frames... thought I give Ash a go after finally being able to survive higher level encounters. My idea was to level my new Necramech while I'm at it, using the Survival missions in Corpus Railjack (I would go insane doing Defense). The progress: Voidrig: went from lv17 with 0 Forma to 5 Forma and just hit lv30 (lv40 is nearly done at this rate) Intrinsics: from rank 5 to mostly rank 9 Mausolon: from lv25 to fully leveled with 4 Forma Made about 3.5 million credits. Ash: got 1 part, still 2 more to go. This is stupid.

You were actually lucky, I leveled Bonewidow the same way with all 5 forma and got no actual Ash parts. Ended up just buying Ash since he was the last frame I was missing

That sounds absolutely awful. The old method of getting Ash was random as all hell but was much, much more consistent than what you’re describing. At least the Manics would spawn pretty often.

Almost every person with regular ash I've spoken to say that you're better off buying him with plat and that you'd have made that plat back in the time you would've farmed him

So today I did the Khora farm. I didn't have to go to the full 8 minute mark each time, and it still took me around 10-11 hours of running Sanctuary Onslaught. Actual tears of joy when the last piece dropped.

According to wiki 12 hours for nearly guaranteed systems drop, x2 because you need one for ash and one for ephemera. Also then you need the 2 other parts. So pretty much 2 days straight, no breaks, if you get unlucky. 10% drop after 20 waves is a fucking joke Also they added this to make ash farm more "beginner friendly" yea sure

Have you seen pluto orphix? Not only the arcanes chances are worst possible,DE forgot to bring back the OVE exclusive necramech mods and pluto hard fails the mission losing all reward(unless it was stealth fixed last month). Also you need organized team because margin of error is way smaller and theres no reasonable place or reason to learn how to do orphix game mode

The only issue I see is that a player who's farming those early warframes will not perform as quickly as he is simply due to resource constraints. It'd be interesting to see the speed if you constrain yourself to one of the starter frames. The assassination runs he's doing with wukong is not something players farming one of the starters would manage. I'm not deaf to the caveat but it's not just about skill. Also a plan for optimal warframe acquisition speed would be interesting.

Just found this channel and I've been frankly just watching in disbelief at some of the numbers and calculations behind Warframe, but I did learn one thing from this video: I am extremely privleged to have gotten to "farm" Ash years ago when his drops were from Grineer Maniacs and *not* several hours of railjack missions

Yeah I got absolutely murdered when I was going for wisp. I got the bp, systems and chassis from my first 3 runs, and then spent 4 and a half hours farming for neuroptics. By the time I was done I was so optimized that runs were taking 3 1/2 minutes

Same case for me and Xaku. At the 3 hour mark i kinda went auto mode and just knew how to optimize my runs. At the time of writing I am farming Khora and for some reason simaris wants me to have the BP instead of the systems. I have 4 bps and no systems. Thank you simaris, very cool

Exactly the same case for me. I was farming normal Mesa years ago, then I gave up and completely stopped farming her and just recently when I returned to the game I farmed the entire Prime with vaulted relics from a friend in 3 hours. It took me about *25 RUNS* to get normal Mesa.

yeah his statistic say if your unlucky it'll take 5 hours to farm savegoth 8 if you have no luck i was farming him last night with my buddy for about 4 hours we needed the chassis, after about 4 hours of grinding we got enough currupt data keys to get a tenet melee, over 4000 endo and 2 neuroptics but not one chassis and systems, de doesn't care about out time only our money

Biggest thing you have to also consider is the time investment for some frames that require reputation ranks to unlock, those are point capped and can take days to months depending on your account level and grind potential. For me, I farmed khora in 4 runs, rng was insane, first the systems, then the head, then the bp and finally the chest, easiest frame in warframe.

@@AmalgamJiena It depends, among other things, on how long ago Tenno began his journey, and whether he walks along it alone. I collected almost all of my arsenal myself, and Nidus was definitely unpleasant, only. But there were also those in which the attempt to get the part depended not only on the randomness, but also the mission had to be overcome.

sometimes i forget that longest doesn't equal least enjoyable, while harrow wasn't in the longest category he was definitely least fun to farm for me, while i got khora by just grinding my mastery (know nothing about ash though i farmed him before they changed him away from manics)

The only frames I have yet to farm are Gauss, Grendel, Xaku, Protea and Caliban. Of those I just cannot with Grendel. Every time I go to load up the missions I cancel out and do anything else less painful. Like cracking open a do-it-yourself catheterization kit.

I remember days when Ash parts were dropped by Grineer Manic. He spawned once in a mission and had a tiny chance to drop something (not even part). Later those "save Grineer defectors" missions came where Manics were spawning like crazy and I finally got my Ash. And then they nerfed his press 4 to win skill :/ And Oberon was: Don't try to farm it. Just check your inventory once in a month if you have all parts.

When I needed ash for helminth, I was glad that I already had 2/3 parts from the time when there was no railjack yet. And even considering this, it took me 3 hours to get the last part.

I remember i was farming gauss with a rando squad. They all left me when we were one conduit away from a c drop. I told them not to leave yet, but they did anyway. I did it and got the last piece of gauss without them. I laughed so hard because karma was on my side.

I was an unfortunate one that took nearly 3 hours to complete Rhino. Rhino! One of the easier frames to get! Those systems prints finally coming up in the rewards got me to shout in triumph. The grind is real and I'm enjoying it. Gonna be digging for one of the harder ones next

From the “Harrowing” frames, oberon and harrow were the easiest for me. It took me 40 minutes to get all harrow parts, and I just randomly get all oberon parts. I didn’t even have to put in effort

To anyone watching this and wanting to get ash, do this Location: Yursa, Neptune (Defection mission) Save 2 squads, then wait till the weird laugh after the 6 minute mark, the Manic will come to you and you get to slap his ass, then extract and repeat. Drop rate isn't 100%, but Nekros can help with that. I can confirm as of June 5 2021 that it still works, I got a ash neu from it.

Nekros doesnt actually help, pretty sure manic garuantees one drop of an ash part every time. That means even nekros desecrate (or any loot ability) doesnt do anything because you cant increase drop rate above 100%. Doesnt help you getting the systems either (which have a slightly lower drop chance), because the drop rate for all the other parts would increase too.

No no no, I won the mega ultra anti lottery, it took me 3 years to farm Oberon until I quit warframe, and even then I had only gotten 2 neuroptic blueprints (Edit: Forgot to say it was when he still dropped from Eximus enemies and everyone was complaining about getting too many)

i'm so thankful for the circuit now!! i have oberon, ash, and nidus, maybe a few others up there on this list. i fucking love duviri so much, if not for many other reasons than because it invalidates this list. cheers for making it though, it's a helpful tip for knowing who to pick in circuit to save you the most trouble!!

Duvuri's Circuit mode is a gamechanger. Getting all parts guaranteed in a relatively short amount of time is amazing, especially for new players. So far, it seems only parts dropped by star chart bosses are included in the roster (mt choices were Ember, Excalibur and Trinity). While we don't know for sure if they'll add this vid's top 10 in the reward pool, I'm sure glad that I don't have to suffer farming Ambulas just to get Trinity's set.

Equinox is definitely longest with the most rng required, but if you counted quest frames umbra could be one with around a minimum of five days to be able to get, and grendel requiring the whole star chart to be done

God, I remember farming Ivara vividly. Just mindlessly repeating the last mission i needed for hours on end, music blasting to cover the voices in my head begging me to give up on my goal. Absolute hell for a frame I don't even use much.

Same but I got pranked and thought every blueprint dropped from low tier spy missions, I think I spent some weeks running spy missions on Jupiter, maxed three primary, secondary and melee while at it. Then I discovered it wasnt like that, ran higher tiers missions and got the other two parts on the second or third try on each mission. I miss the old corpus spy tilesets, the muscle memory on those missions still haunts me

Manics were originally guaranteed to spawn in after a certain amount of time or waves (can't remember which) in Defection missions, so you could farm both Harrow and Ash at the same time. Manics do spawn in other missions of course, but that was a potential route to force drop chances for the Ash part you needed. It was semi-tedious, but allowing you to potentially farm both Ash and Harrow at once was a nice boon.

Me at the mid part of the video: Yeah, when I switched from playing on Switch to PC and gunned it straight for Tyl to get my Equniox back, I got super unlucky with the drops. ~48 runs. Me at the end of the video: I'm so ridiculously lucky that I got both Ash and Gauss in one 1 hour 30 minute Axi Disruption run before Ash was moved.

I was able to get nidus in like 2 hours, but that was just luckyness because I meet a guy that had 2 of the blueprints and gave them to me, and help me grind for the other blueprints and the stuff you need for them.

It took me, no exageration, 2 years to get Khora. Began farming her when Sanctuary Onslaught released, and I finally managed to obtain the systems in August 2020, before the release of Deimos. Farming for her semi-regularly, 2-3 runs a day the week she released, then one run a day for the two weeks after, then two runs a week for the following month, and then finally settling at one run a month until her final part dropped. I had her entire set except systems before the end of the first month. How many decimals does it take to be me? Edit: To be fair, and honest, about a third of those runs didn't get to rotation C, but the majority of them did.

I remember when the Raptor and Nova first came out, when blueprint drops were physical items. I had to fight the Raptor about 150 times, as blueprints were not guaranteed to drop. Additionally, the blueprints would sometimes drop into one of the many pits that the Raptor flew above, resulting in zero reward even when a blueprint did finally drop.

I was one of the people you hear about in the protea 99.9% bracket. It took me multiple weeks if not more than a month and a half grinding daily, the real kick to the crotch was that I got the Neuroptics and Systems relatively quickly and the remaining time was spent on the Chassis. I even started a tallying system after a couple weeks which exceeded over 70 attempts for the Chassis alone.

It took me over a week playing 1-2h a day to farm Wisp when it was released. I got 3/4 blueprints in under 10 runs, but then the neuroptics just wouln't drop for me - EVER. Meanwhile my friend who only wanted to get her as mastery fodder got all the blueprints in one evening. He had her lvl 30 by the time I could finally build mine. Pure RNG sucks because its extremely inconsistent from the POV of a single player. Prime parts farm is actually much more fair because of the player market. Even if I don't get what I wanted, I don't feel like I wasted my time for nothing - I can sell what I don't want and eventually buy what I truly desire.

Frames like these u should go with the mindset of farming something else.. like you wanna go into exploiter because of the resources... Then u get the resource u don't need and instead get the hyldrin component u need.

i counted the runs i did for frames (all assasinations back then) when warframe was first released to beta. i did over 100 runs for frost and saryn back then, the game was a lot slower back then because of other movesets, a lot less power, other mechanics for bosses and so on. i think it took me several days for each of them. it was pure insanity!

Ken, you didn't talk about construction though. It's all well and good to farm the blueprints, but then you need to build them with some unique resources. Caliban requiring Anomaly Shards for example is definitely a timesink.

Nothing took me longer than Ivara. I had a good day off with nothing to do and it took me 7 hours of non stop grinding for the parts, mostly for the last part in the higher level spy missions. I had completely come into this extremely experienced and built for these spy missions. I did it with 2 other people (1 person per hack) and was in and out as fast as I could ever get. Took me 7 hours to get her whole frame. Thank Limbo for letting me bypass certain parts of spy missions.

Wisp is only hard because the Ropalolyst tends to be really buggy and you can get stuck with some of those for multiple runs in a row.

Wisp is hard also because it requires at least decent amp and perhaps some way-bounds which requires additional grinds that you otherwise wouldn't have to do. Same for some of the other grinds like Valkyr, the mission is fast but the Alad V cords farming is not included. You got to do 3 missions that might take on average 3-4 min each to get the ticket to a roll for valkyr parts.

I feel like Mesa doesn't quite fit with the rest of the "you need resources but you'll pick those up as you go" frames. With something like Animo Beacons or Rathuum Points you'll get them as you progress through the star map and can just grind a few of the relevant mission to get some if you don't have enough , but MAV coordinates are time-gated, so you can't just choose to go and farm them because they're not always available to farm. I know that wouldn't really be calculable because it's dependent on the rng of invasion rewards, but I feel like it messes up the tiers a bit?

100 percent agree currently been trying to farm Mesa and after multiple trys on both tbe defense and survival mission deimos (apparently the nav can drop on later rounds for both of them but no luck yet) I finally saw it as payment , them after waiting to actually get them because payment for factions battles R not instantly received, I took a couple runs to beat the boss, (was actually pretty hard boss and wS solo) and when I did and got my start meso part I found out I could not do if again without another nav..... Great.

When i was new, i was fascinated by the high speed of Gauss. Hence, at rep level 0 for both fortuna and the plains, I decided to farm him. It took like a month (~6 hours farming blueprints and the rest levelling up to rep level 4 in both factions so i can make the components)

I wanted Nidus when I started this game way back. Little did I know he was locked behind the second to last planet and several quests. Factoring in that I was a student in HS at the time, it probably took me 2-3 months just to unlock the prerequisites. Luckily for me it seems, I had generous mission drops for him as his farm took a few hours tops.

For me it took a bit to eventually get Octavia, Nidus , Equinox and then I think it felt like a few years to get Khora. I just hope I still have the old Ash parts saved up to make one to subsume. I still don't have Harrow which I dread farming for and having to get all the warframes again to subsume later too.

Holy crap, I did not think they could somehow make getting Ash worse than how he originally was before I quit for half a decade. I'm so happy I got him then. His regular variant will forever sit as a trophy in my collection.

I got Nidus in 3 runs, Octavia had one part that wouldn't drop for me until my 86th run, the Hexanon farm for Wisp took a long time, and I'm currently on my second week of running missions for Sevagoth Systems.

if we're being technical, it would be frames like lavos, hildryn and baruuk because you have to get to rank 3 atleast in the entrati for lavos. Baruuk and hildrynn are more time consuming because you need to get to old mate in fortuna and agent for little duck which would take atleast 6 or 8 days to max out for a mr 30 player. So technicaly they're the most time consuming but ash and still the most grindy if that makes sense.

Took me until 90% to MR28 before I dropped my last Khora piece. I also remember how miserable it was farming Manics for Ash parts... so I hate to hear that it's even worse for newer players.

Just farmed gauss with my clanmates. It took total 32 rounds to get all 3 parts, where 1 round was 1-1.5 minutes due to proper coordination. While octavia's neuro took me 4 hours in a single survival mission (funnily enough - I farmed it using octavia prime).

if you include resources and effort to get to some of those farm missions then i'd say: - Xaku - while grinding for parts isn't a problem, you need maxed out Solaris reputation to open heists, where you can farm some recources needed for him - Caliban needs star chart completed, the new war quest completed (which means railjack and necromech are needed too), and the Narmer bounty missions of lvl 50-70 afterwards - Grendel pretty much the same as Caliban, requires arbitration vitus essence (75 total) which is open only after you complete star chart

years ago i actually just happened to get all the parts for ash by accident. suddenly i just saw that i had all the parts in my foundry so i just crafted them lmao he was probably one of my first 10-15 frames
