Diriga, unlike other sentinels, have unique variation of the Assault Mode mod, which is increasing range of attack from 30 to 70 meters.

plus the Vulklok, its weapon, is the only weapon that cna effectively use this, with some invesitment you can end up with a decent sniper rifle in the hands of the sentinel: this is where the unique attack precept helps, unlike with assault mode the Diriga's attack precept doesnt care for alertness

There is another, the Djinn's version of Assault Mode is called Thumper and gives 60 meters at max rank. HOWEVER, at rank 0 it gives 35m, plenty enough for verglas, with NO mod capacity cost.

That's why I use diriga, with large levels I can tell it's shooting, I used to run the tracking rockets weapon because it doesn't alert it's target until the rockets hit and the rockets have high status so 1 burst could apply 10 corrosive procs and actually kill

@@Teixas666 Back when Diriga came out, Vulklok had the stats of Lanka and with just basic mods and no potato you could just AFK entire mission. And yes, it was shooting Lanka's charged shots at fire rate you can see Corpus Snipers and Nullies do xd

Once upon a time Shade was excellent for turning you invisible when activating Life Support, reviving teammates and when enemies knock you down. These days though we have kiddo invis and PSF/Handspring Exilus.

I highly recommend modding radiation on companion weapons. Rad viral works well. Also the Helstrum works pretty well with an energy generator dethcube

Depends. If you want to stack status on an enemy for con/gundition overload you might want to go for something like magnetic gas instead.

@@TheTdw2000 i have mines modded to deal Corrosive and Blast, and since the weapon equipped is the Stinger (because I have a Riven for it), it dumps Toxic procs on the enemy as well.

Magnetic is the best element to mod for, good for condition overload and increases damage against shield significantly even at 1 proc

it's worth mentioning that building Deconstructor Prime for shattering Impact is a good armor strip, and Cordon precept for Nautilus is the only crowd control in the game that works on Eximus units with overguard. I also didn't get a notification despite having the bell rung lol

This video really makes me want a comparison between companions. For me I have come to love the panzer vulpaphyla as my companion, running it in almost all of my missions so I would love to see how kubrows, kavats, and the deimos companions all compare to each other and the sentinels! Loved the video btw great stuff as always!!

The vulpaphyla kinda outclass all other companions except for smeeta(the loot cat) and cavasa(the crit cat). There are some niche senerios for some of the others like the hurras(invisible dog) and there is another dog that can get extra loot from dead bodies like necros and some niche cases where you use a sentinel for the weapon or the unique precept does something you need. But vulpaphyla are universally good because they never die and their abilities are icing on the cake(free viral, evasion, or bonus damage)

I wish companions did more than just fancy tricks. Would love to see them be good at their gimmicks. Like, shade's gimmick is stealth, would be nice if it is actually good at doing that. Consistent invis, perhaps also providing weapon fire silence, and help opening up mobs to stealth finishers. Pretty much just double down on their specialization, instead of whatever party tricks they're doing now.

Djinn is also underrated. It can get the mod 'sacrifice' which when you do down, Djinn with die to revive you. This works extremely well with the 'reawaken' mod and has even saved my ass many times in archon hunts

The Looter mod for carrier makes the riven challenge ‘complete level 30 survival without a kill’ as it opens boxes for life support without the risk of hitting an enemy 🙂

These days, I usually use Limbo and go riftwalking to definitively avoid killing an enemy and go out to use life support. Have to start using that.

I love helios, scans things, like seeds and grasses, but also catches all those grame fighters or octavia sounds. Also gives damage boost if it scans enemies, plus highlights hard to find objectoves. No attack precepts. Great video.

To maximise Dethkube's Energy Generator, mod verglas for gas damage and status. You want heaps of status, meaning more gas clouds. As enemies are damaged by gas cloud, that's considered an assist, and you'll enjoy a shower of blue orbs. Then fit Synth Deconstruct to have a decent supply of red orbs too. Or just head out into the field with a Sahasa Kubrow with Dig precept. But that's for a different video :D

I synergized Carrier's shotgun Sweeper with my Dethcube for energy generator. With punch through, increased fire rate and reload speed it actually cranks out energy orb pretty much every 15-20 seconds

I'd love to see a new unique precept added to Taxon. Me and a few friends like the idea of letting it swap orb types while making them a bit better, or turning drops into universal drops

I really like Diriga and he is more useful than one could think. The crowd control he bring can be a life saver for frame that are a bit squishy and his Arc Coil precept is a good enabler for the synth mods/Equilibrium combo since he keep zapping a bunch of enemies all around you (alas, Electro Pulse work against that since it lock Diriga on a single enemy without doing anything else). I use it on Sevagoth. It alleviate my energy consumption, allowing me to have infinite Gloom with arcane energize and minimal investment in duration/efficiency, freeing space for other things. And i don't need Zenurik, Emergence Dissipate or energy pizzas at all.

For what it's worth, Deconstructor Prime deals not-terrible damage in my experience, at least for basic star chart relic runs (where it actually has a fairly similar KPM to Verglas). Verglas is definitely superior by leaps and bounds though, and as a bonus it'll passively charge Cascadia Flare for you if you do the Viral/Heat combo. Deconstructor is a distant second, but a second nonetheless when compared to the steaming garbage pile that is literally every other sentinel weapon.

Deconstructor is pretty amazing. More so if you have a Riven for it. Due to a bug a long time ago I was able to get it on most of my sentinels which is nice. Watching Djinn snipe with it is pretty funny.

Deconstructor is a pretty good weapon too. I often find myself having to swap from helios when leveling bad weapons or when doing weird things that require enemies not being instantly dead because of how fast it kills everything on star chart.

It's actually probably better to use a weapon like sweeper prime modded for fire rate, spread, reload, etc, to get assists so energy generator can proc more often.

Helstrum is good for that, 3m aoe damage for the assists and 30% status chance per shot. Fires 4 homing missiles per burst and can damage enemies through walls.

At 5:00 you state that nanospores lock access to most sentinels until saturn, but the earliest access to nanospores is deimos around the same time as phobos or even before, and most new players will have access to it before the void. Appreciate the video keep up the good work man

@Practically Prinz There was an application or two through Overwolf (the platform it uses) that was accused of doing that, but not Alecaframe. People have a problem with some apps on the Overwolf platform/framework, but they generalized it out to "Overwolf is at fault!!!" It's like blaming the browser for bad websites.

One of my go to sentinel/moa weapons is the helstrum. White it isnt as lethal as the verglas it does spit out quite a few missiles and is useful to spreading status effects around.

I've only been playing for a few days but really enjoying the game so far. I really like how the majority of content is either farmable or buy for credits . I hate feeling pressured to buy premium currency for content

Verglas is good if you're modding for damage, but I find Deth Machine Rifle to be pretty good for priming enemies if you mod it for heat/viral status and fire rate.

There is a hyper Niche use case for other weapons. If you run Nyx with the assimilate augment, all sentinels become invincible, so running helstrum for spray and prey on dethcube with energy generator is just free energy forever. there may be a better option, but that's what I run.

The Cryotra is really worth using for the status procs. It easily reaches 100% status chance, and if you mod for radiation, each rad proc will typically de-agro 2 enemies - both the enemy you rad proc, and the enemy that gets attacked by the rad proc'd enemy. It makes a big difference in survivability in a mission.

I want to give a shoutout to the Helstrum, the only sentinel weapon I'll use besides the Glaxion. It can reach over 100% status chance, fires a burst of missiles that explode in an aoe, and inflicts status on both impact and explosion, meaning many status effects very quickly to groups and even more to their single targets. The explosions do heat but the impacts don't, meaning you can put something like electric on for both radiation and shock procs, which is good whenever using status conditional mods on weapons and guns. In particular, AOE viral and Radiation is handy both for soft-crowd-controlling groups of enemies (in a manner that works on overguarded enemies and nullifiers even), and for increasing the kill power of warframe abilities. And I'm 80% certain the properties of the missiles as non-overlapping non-hitscan weapons make them deal with nullifier bubbles than other similar weapons. One of my favourites, IMO the best utility weapon and the gun I reach for when I don't want a kill laser.

I know you aren't covering builds, but it would have been useful to cover the photon torpedo launcher, Helstrum. Very useful for applying any status you want to groups of enemies.

I don't know if you consider it irrelevant, but there are some people which also use the Cryotra, which is a robotic weapon you get in fortuna, for moa's companions but you can also use it on sentinels. Since it has extremely high status chance and scales with multishot, but low damage, you can use it like a support proc weapon. The thing is that you can actually build gas and make the dethcube get those 10 assists very very easy with that, turning it into a fountain of energy orbs much easier than you can do with any other weapon.

I remember when stuff like vacuum was a carrier exclusives ability I’m glad that changed I do with that stuff like scan was also made a universal ability as ied love to have whatever companion I want out for it’s looks and just swap out it’s skills as needed.

I'm late, but there's a nasty little secret about the deconstructor (prime) that DE doesn't want you to know about... it gets melee stealth multiplier, and Helios aims for the head. Suprisingly, even if an enemy is alerted to you, it may not see Helios because the deconstructor is silent, and thus Helios will get stealth bonuses. The last substancial part is that (for a sentinal weapon) the deconstructor has a good status chance. Now you may still think "alright, but how does that help with the 50 (75 prime) base damage" Gas. With a 0 forma no catalyst build my Helios can consistantly cause 1200 damage gas procs. So if you want a sentinal that kills things, Helios is (somehow) the way to go until you can get Nautilus

A note on Dethcube Vaporize, it is capable of stunning CC immune targets, including Eximus, Liches and Sisters if it can't vape them. Apart from Verglas, Helstrum is also considerable weapon to use, it has terrible damage but it can have 140% status chance and each rocket has small AoE. The rockets are slow AF tho. Fun fact on Verglas - it was left with Glaxion stats to this day, but when Diriga came out its Vulklok had stats of Lanka. It was changed in next update because it was deemed "too strong" at the time.

On speedruns i actually use carrier for more ammo maximum. Eventually smeeta for potential cat buff while cracking relic. Once i got 200 per relic opened

Good Guide so far but my personal preferences are on the 3 kavats and vulpaphylas. I mean sure, my companions are fully skilled on supporting me with link health and shield but my sentinels die as the enemies sneezes. At the beginning of the game carrier prime and helios prime were busted, especially helios with it's auto scans but since I got my hands on a kavat I switched as fast as possible. The only problem with the kavat are surely that they don't stick with you and get into the bleed out status without any particular reasons. The last time I bring a sentinel with me was when I breed my missing kubrows and in endless missions they lasted about 3 minutes (no steel path). Well I was happy again to bring my kavats (especially smeeta with 7 formas) with me again ^-^ honorable mention here is my second best kavat: vasca (7 formas) especially on Titania :D

I'm a Mag main so I use Dethcube Prime with a Vulklok modded for punch through and status. It primes corrosive and cold on enemies so it boosts my weapon damage when I use Galvanized Aptitude, which boosts the bubbles damage even more.

So the dirga has a weapon with 25%crit chance which might be useful in the future if not now. Also the deconstructor uses mele mods so can give you some of the set bonuses (not all because it has been nurfed) and I don't remember which one it was but one of the weapons utilizes pistol mods which once again have some set mods, especially the auger set, that are quite useful.

You can trigger shades invis almost instantly by swapping to operator and going invisible. Not sure if its a bug but it sometimes works when you dont even meet the requirments for invis.

if youre running a weapon with condition overload or similar mod, the Helstrum weapon from the MOAs fires 3 high status chance aoe rockets that can be modded for even higher radius, give it statuses you dont carry on your weapons to juice your condition overload

As far as I know the vigilante set bonus counts for the primary when equipped on sentinel weapons, so that's what I've done with my sentinel weapon build

I'm always going with Helios Prime with Verglas since I'm a bit of Codex completionist, helps a lot with scanning and killing, too bad some enemy can be scanned but won't be appear in the Codex.

Before Demios released there was an early path to getting Nano Spores before Saturn. You accept and complete the early quest to save Maroo when it became available, then visit her at the bazaar at Mars to accept the weekly sculpture hunt mission. She'd send you to the Derelict which gave Nano Spores as a resource in crates. You'd then have to use that first batch of spores to build Derelict survival keys. Haven't played in a long time but is there a similar system that sends you to Demios instead of the Derelict?

My go to id Carrier prime with looter mod and Verglas with cold and crit support. I got amazing riven for it. The status procs every time, and the beam is instant. All enemies who are able, are slowed down for easy killing. On normal chart it just kills everything and I can focus on the missions.. :D

I run a Deconstructor Prime on Viral+Radiation, as much status chance and bounces as possible. I'd say it's one of the most fun setup for my Helios Prime

I feel like one part that may be useful for sentinels was omitted, the companion weapon Riven mods offered by Simaris. They are pricey for 100k standing and it's a pain to farm Simaris standing.

Just an anecdote: Wyrm Prime has 300 shields, triple what any other Sentinal has. With Sentinel Redirection and Sentinel Fast Deflection, they become extremely survivable, making them the best choice for using builds focused on universal precepts.

one thing you missed (assuming it wasnt nerfed, i havent used dethcube in a while) is that vaporise has a guaranteed stun. It can interrupt heavy grineer slams, it can even stun some bosses like kela de thaym

It wasn't nerfed, thankfully. It was even able to break Thrax units early on after their introduction by stunning them when they became their void ghost forms, which they'd never recover from, leading them to become permanently invincible.

I always did wonder about sentinel weapons, "are any of these actually worth using?" Good to have the answer. Although, I have to ask which is better for a companion to focus on: procing viral, or procing cold/stun?

The better choice is the one that matches your build. If you already have viral output for status, a companion putting out viral isn't doing much. If you have hard crowd control, you don't need cold/electric procs to control an enemy here or there.

I don't know how true this is, but whenever I used sentinels, I noticed that if you equip a weapon on it, it gets targeted more thus having a way higher chance of being destroyed. I personally noticed this after removing the sentinel weapon, my sentinel died way less even on steel path missions. (This is just speculation.)

Keep the weapon modded with vigilante mods for the crit bonus. Just remove Assault Mode or whatever attack precept.

This is true. When your sentinel shoots enemy, there is decent chance that it gets aggro and enemy shoots back. Without weapon, your sentinel doesnt get directly fired, but explosions and other aoe effects still kills it.

Explosions and electric still lethal for sentients (specially with electric eximus or disruption with electric condition and enemies with explosive weapons), at least I can revive my moas (or Lambeo), but Wyrm (is funny when you have prime sure footed but the sentinel use his ability to negate the status of knocdown when you shot a bullet from the ogris close to enemies for example) and Carrier are useful, like my boi Helios, thx to DE at least to bring the augment for pseudo inmortality for sentinels And I forget to test if enemies with low level has less status chance to produce a determinated status, exceptions like the melee nullifier can produce slash with a prova

I saw a guy with a build for his vaporise dethcube prime where he used a riven mod for one of the pistol-class sentinel prisma weapons and he would deal about 90% damage to level 150 corrupted heavy gunners

Its just so hard to get out of the crutch of just running a Vulpaphyla so you don't end up with having no vacuum or enemy/loot radar after a few regens. I don't have the hard reset mod and don't want to have to run helmithed dispensary anytime I want to run a sentinel. But ever since we got the new war, my codex has been lacking on new enemy scans from never running my Helios Prime.

For Sentinel weapons, I'd also like to put forward the option of just not having a weapon. That sounds ridiculous, it's given up free damage, but Warframe uses a threat system and if your sentinel is not doing any damage, then it's not creating any threat. The only damage it will take are aoe effects targeted at you, which in my experience massively increases the sentinel's survivability. You're getting more out of the sentinel's passive effects than 95% of sentinel weapons anyway.

While I want to have modular sentinels if they geuot any decent abilities, getting modular sentinel weapons would be even better, as there is only one pistol type weapon and its no good just like the vast majority of sentinel weapons. Construction would have receiver with the weapon mod type and firerate/dmg +ammo balance, then launch system: rail=hitscan barrel=projectile and emitter=beam and attachment module specific to each launch system. Those would affect dmg type, trigger type, range, width etc.

The Stinger with cold mods is my main sentinel weapon. You'll have viral plus the forced toxin procs. Probably not as good as the Verglas, but still a good choice IMO.

Sentinels generally revive when you do too. That's one way, albeit not the best option, to revive your sentinel if no other option is available to you.

Wyrm's [Negate] mod is meta vs eidlons right now, the old kavat crit buff days are over as we have more damage than ever, and taking the kavats out of jumping around and getting in the way of limb shots - this is the new meta. I appreciate Ken doesn't get too involved with eidlon's as you could write 10 books on eidlons and still not cover everything and things change at the drop of a hat, but this sentinel has a great use in eidlons - but not in general game play. other than that, approved!

Two notable exceptions to "Verglas is king", which is otherwise pretty accurate: Diriga has access to some interesting sniping options with its unique Assault replacement, and only one gun supports that. It's not excellent, but it fills a niche. Dethcube and its Prime, meanwhile, really would rather have a weapon with a lot of spread potential to rack up assists for their Energy Orb generation: Shotgun-types with Gas are good here.

Death cube Gatling gun, zoom mod (hawk eye or on a riven mod) plus shred for both the fire rate and punch through. energy orb poop machine haha! And spread the priming love, djinn also likes this . pleasantly surprised! not game changing..... yet suitably impressed by the lil guys!

Wait, for djinn wheres the gazel machete? They both give each other buffs, been awhile but if i recall kills with gazel buffs the explosion plus gives toxin dmg to gazel?

well then, a moa would just die far away from you and need to be revived. try getting a panzer vulpaphyla instead, which is the best all rounder companion to use for damage and vacuum. (it has a mod to revive itself and another mod to use its life to save yours too)
