So I've been part-timing at Lowes here in Texas and after this snow storm, everyone was raving about PEX pipe. I don't know how how you feel about explosions but a challenge between PVC, CPVC, PEX and that grey PVC or whatever it is, would be nice. Or SharkBites compared to other brands. Maybe even the glues? A simple hydraulic press rig would help you blow up some pipe, I'm thinking.

As I've mentioned in other videos you've uploaded, my wife and I recently bought a house - brick with concrete basement walls. Even the interior upstairs walls are stucco on wire mesh on drywall. Hence, I quickly realized that an impact driver was going to be my best friend. After a few fails and re-buys of bits, I've found that milwaukee and diablo both became my go-to. They're not only fast, but I've been able to keep using the same bit for hole after hole without worrying about dulling. They're more expensive, yeah, but I get more durability from them. Thanks again for uploading!

You should test SDS bits! And you need to bring in the professional grade brands, like the German made Bosch, Makita and Hilti bits. A lot of what you had now was the consumer grade stuff.

I'm pretty impressed with Bosch's bigger bits (2"-5") but for anything 2" and below I love the Hilti bits (I don't like the price but my boss covers that hahah). I haven't seen any Makita bits in local stores (Alberta, Canada)

@@SparxI0The cheap Makita bits are generic China but the expensive ones are made in Germany or France. But they are much less common to see in stores than Bosch and Hilti. Bosch also has regular German made or their premium which I find to be significantly better if you are going through wood or metal before the masonry.

In my experience Diablo perform very well for 'consumer' grade tools, however some bits they sell are creeping up near 'construction' grade price, where you may be better off paying a little extra for a heavy duty tool or bit which will last significantly longer.

I was walking through the automotive section at Walmart yesterday and thought of Project Farm when I saw the fuses. I wonder if there is a way to test fuses? Fuses don't just pop at a defined value - they _hold_ at the specified value and open somewhere in a fairly wide time range depending on the degree of overcurrent. Ambient conditions have a significant impact on this. Testing this is of course possible but very involved. Just buy reputable fuses..

A great comparison would be the Irwin masonry bit with other drill bit types, the tile drill bit and the circular diamond drill bit. When standing in the store starting at the different bits, I haven't a clue. I've tried all three types but didn't have the money or the time to try every brand of every type. Testing was great! My only recommendation if you revisit masonry drilling in the future would be to include Hilti bits. Hilti caters to the pro contractor/construction industry, and they specially develop a lot of products for masonary/concrete applications.
