It will run Windows 11 if you modify the installer ISO, and while you'll get security updates for whatever build you're on, it won't get feature updates to the next build on it's own, you'd have to manually download the ISO's and patch them to get them installed.

I mean yeah, it's great as a basic web/word machine, but even having 10+ chrome tabs open on a machine that old is gonna start causing some lag. I have an X1 Carbon G4 and an X270, both with 6th gen i5s, and they're getting towards the age where they'll need Linux to still be properly usable for most tasks beyond the basics.

its not as bad as it is on paper. intel really failed to innovate at all before ryzen. I think 6th gen == 8th gen == 9th gen == 10th ==11th, pretty much. There wasn't any major IPC improvements and was basically just minor core bumps in the later stages.

Consider a w530 assuming you can get one for around $150-170. It'll run windows 11 without issue, and even linux. The stock w530 is still powerful enough to run more intensive desktop environments like kde without issue.

I've been sifting through eBay looking for a w530 with the k2000 graphics card. Ugh. But all the sellers know what they have and want $400 plus for them. Can't even find the motherboard. I would rebuild one if I had too. Oh well. I'll just have to keep watching.

Please don't buy anything older than 8. gen Intel for actual use, otherwise you only get crappy dual cores. The performance benefit is well worth the extra $50 you will have to spend.

Bypassed versions of Windows 11 for unsupported machines have come a long way. Very stable these days on majority of machines at least in my experience. 🙏

The Lenovo in this video is 6th Gen Intel CPU so the V14 will be newer. I would stick with Intel with these computers for better cooling and battery life over time. This is just in my experience my friend. 🙏

Ryzen 5500u is FARR MORR POWERFUL. Just by looking a bit at its spec. 6 CORES 12 THREADS But you also need to consider the tier of laptop, v14 is entry level series whereas Thinkpad x1 yoga/carbon is a businesses grade high end laptop So features may vary a lot

You are completely wrong, the Ryzen is better in literally every single metric, the low power consumption of the Intel is more than offset by the far, far higher performance the ryzen can achieve with the same power. It is also 6 years newer, so it will support more modern security and video features. Do not buy the Intel unless you are a collector and dont need this thing to do any productive work.@@TechInsomnia

It comes with pen, it not as s9 tab or ipad pro. Its just for productivity, office n notes taking... better get g4 or g5 of this x1 yoga. It ll give better performance with 16gb of ram

For the 430 I’d personally recommend Fedora Linux. ThinkPad’s generally run great with most Linux distros

Please don’t install windows 7 as he is recommending if it feels “slow”. It’s not safe to use in 2023 due to no security updates (or updates at all) for multiple years now. If it’s slow it’s likely overheating or you’ve got to much running in the background.

Use Windows 8.1 instead of Windows 7, that is still supported and still recieves security updates to this day. It's the lightest Windows there has ever been, even Windows 7 is more bloated than 8.

Yes it can my friend. Just make sure you have minimum i5 and 16GB RAM 🙏 CPU: Current generation Intel i5 or better. GPU: A dedicated GPU, like an NVIDIA GeForce, for example. RAM: At least 16 GB. Storage: At least 250 GB of SSD storage. Screen size: At least a 13-inch display.

Always buy an old ThinkPad from 10 yrs ago. The build quality is beautiful and it has all the ports and jacks you need. if you have a small budget, always buy a used Lenovo ThinkPad under 200$. ITS A STEAL. you can upgrade it and turn it into windows 10.

I5 6th gen, 8gb ram. Don't buy this garbage. It's gonna be barely able to run netflix. Just add 50 bucks to your budget and look for smth with at least 8th gen cpu and 16 GB RAM.

NOPE, one generation short. Look at the processor, 6300U IS NOT SUPPORTED by Microsoft for Windows 10 upwards - sure, there are ways, but no one will guarantee it will work after the next upgrade
