New sub! (from Florida) I just completed my LPN program. My program didn't require any prereqs which is ultimately what made me choose that route I didn't want to have to wait an entire year to apply for a ADN/BSN program because I was missing A/P 1, A/P 2, and microbio. My program was 12 months (May-May) and if I decided to move back to my hometown I could get hired in a hospital. I think alot of small town does this. I just sat for the PN NCLEX and although I'm not thrilled to have to take the RN NCLEX whenever it's time again I'm happy I can start working sooner. My plan is to work for a year while finishing those three pre-reqs then apply for both bridge (3 terms) and ADN (4 terms).

Where I live in Texas they will hire you with you ADN along as you get your BSN within 4 years, but must new registered nurses with their ADN’s usually get that done before that timeframe required.

There’s actually some LPN to ADN programs that only take a year at community colleges in my state. I already have my prerequisites so getting in either program for me would be still be good.
