Sprigatito becomes a grass- and dark-type Pokémon, Fuecoco becomes fire- and ghost-type, and Quaxly becomes water- and fighting- type. All three Pokémon gain this second typing when they evolve into their final form - Polygon

I love how, by the data available at the time, the only way Quaxly was in any way Clearly Better than the other Starters was because it had a hat and the others didn't. When the Region/Generation's whole gimmick is "Sparkly Type-specific Hats" (also somehow he guessed the types of 3 Gyms and got 2 of them right which is kind of cool)

Turned out that Fuecoco actually has higher base stats being a huge 1% Stronger (it's evolutions have one more total BST).

What I got from this is, it comes down to what you like the most in a starter maybe you like the type as you like the moves water, fire or grass types get, just like the element overall, or maybe you just like the design, besides scarlet and violet are open world so you are free to take on gyms in any order, unlike previous titles and at the end of the day if your starter gets a bad type match up in a certain gym you can always catch a Pokemon that would be a good match up somewhere in the area.

I am definately going to pick Sprigatito as my starter Pokemon for both Scarlet and Violet games for Christmas because I like it's middle and final evolved form designs.

I Choose Sprigatito because it reminds me of my cat Casper who was there in my life for a while but passed but looking at Sprigatito it reminds me a lot of my cat so i pick him and dosen't matter what you pick you love duck pick duck you love dinosaurs pick Dino you love cats pick cat

Just a helping tip, Sprigatito ends up with Grass Dark not grass Fighting, and im pretty sure that quaxly gains fighting. Fuecoco gains ghost, not rock. I also genuinly thought that at first glance that fuecoco would become a rock type

Yes, but Quaxly keeps the hat for all his evolution making his score 3, instead of measly one. Quaxly is still scientifically superior. The numbers don't lie!

@@thechosen3171 Irrelevant. That has nothing to do with wearing a hat! Also.. Absolutely wrong. (Bug isn't Super Effective and Quaxly has Wing Attack. Quaxly beats Klawk and Mela, and can get Low Sweep in time for Giacomo (as a Quaxwell) or Disarming Voice. Disarming Voice could also be used against Bombirdier, but it's doing Neutrally. And Orthworm isn't really an issue either. Grass and Electric are super effective, and Wing Attack/Air Slash may not be enough to pass Sudowoodo unless you overtrain, though. Sprigatito does struggle sensibly more (and to get back to the true subject is always hatless)

The new mech adding a hat crystal bs over the poke is annoying, I was excited when I heard they would have a duck starter then I was sad it wasn't a mallard then even more sad when it had a hat and the other 2 are meh 😕
