The sick part of it is all these shocks are way overprice, you can buy good coilovers for a sports car, for all four corners for less than two on a harley

I went with Progressive 944 on my 14 Limited, have kept them on my 17 SGS. Legends wasn't as mainstream when I upgraded. Love the ride of these shocks, it gives me a better footing at stops and while riding distance or digging into corners it feels alot more stable and tight. Both shocks are going to be 10x better than the stock ones.

Owning a Harley is a lot about customizing your ride. The stock suspension really isn’t bad especially for what it was made for. A lot of us are doing suspension b. You know what? You are absolutely correct. I’m not saying they need to have Ohlins like Ducati but damn it’s supposed to be know for it’s plush riding. INDIAN is the brand putting FOX from the factory. H-D wake up. I would change suspension because I want a performance bagger. And some are doing that but the factory suspension is a joke. What is it 2.5” of travel or something? Just poor for a 30 thousand dollar machine. I own one and love it but can see it’s shortcomings also at least for the price.

Like them both, but been leaning toward Legends shocks. Liked what Brian said, "Take them out for an hour, and if you don't like them will give your money back towards a different purchase." Lifetime warranty is great too. Initial cost up front, but never have to buy another shock again, which will be cheaper in the long run...if you keep your bike. Also great information on air shocks, and keeping it real too. Explaining how they where the top of the line back then. TJ, Steph, and Brian thanks for an awesome, and informative video. Really liked the light humor between TJ and Brian, and Steph commentary with light humor in the background was a bonus.

I have the Legends Revo (not Revo A) on my 2019 Road Glide Special, what a difference they made in the ride. Well worth the price. I discussed the difference between the Revo and the Revo A with the folks at Revzilla and they didn't think the rebound adjustment was really needed on a heavy touring bike. Going with the standard Revo saves about $200.00 and is a notable improvement over the stock Harley Shock.

I have a 16 RG special . The legend have extended my ride time and made life so good on the bike now. Normal bumps are not even felt anymore . After checking with ohlins , progressive and legend and talking with techs at 3 dealerships and revzilla all recommended legend as best ride for my style . I run progressive 490s and a adjustable monotube cartridge in front. I have riden bikes with both progressive and legend shocks, along with Ohlins. The Progressive 490s and Legend Revos are VERY similar, and if someone is saying they are "a huge upgrade" it is because someone gave them a set of shocks and some money to say so. They are both amazing shocks, but the price difference with very little if any performance difference does it for me. If I was going to spend the amount that the Legends cost, I would just go with Ohlins instead, since they are a better performing shock than both the Progressive and Legends, at the same price or close to it as the Legends. I think some people just ride the hype train when it comes to certain upgrades (tbars, seats, shocks). Don't get me wrong, the Legends are amazing but they aren't blowing their competition out of the water.

Appreciate the effort guys but you missed the mark by comparing a $679 Progressive 490 Shock to a $924 Legend Shock ($245 difference). Plus you have obvious bias toward the Legend Brand. Progressive offers additional premium shocks such as the 944 Series for $759, the 970 Series for $1200 and the 990 Series for around $1500. Not really an apples to apples comparison.

@@clarkbabin9799 You are absolutely correct! Progressive, Legend, Fox, Ohlins, they all make premium shocks for HD. It all depends on how the person rides their bike. I have riden bikes with all of them except Fox shocks, so I can't speak on them. Progressive 490s and Legend Revo are very similar in many ways, except the legends are at the Ohlins price range. If I was to spend the extra couple hundred it would be for Ohlins because there isn't enough of a difference to even notice between Progressive and Legend for the average person that rides their bike hard. They all make a great product, it just depends on what someone wants to spend and what they expect to get out of it. I can tell you that a good suspension upgrade on a HD is easily the best and most noticeable upgrade that can be done and i suggest to everyone that reads this to do suspension before doing exhaust, intake and tuner. Everyone that has ever upgraded says the same thing "I should have done my suspension first" hahaha

With the Legend shock the eyelet (bolt hole) is a ball and it allows the shock to rotate/pivot. The progressive shock looks to be rigid which is typical of most shocks. Is this true?

This guy for Harley is good. Very knowledgeable unlike most dealers. I thought you live in Arkansas, why go up to Missouri? Are you by the MO border? Edit: new subscriber here 👊

My deal is I want the best suspension made, irregardless of how much, but I want to set the suspension, leave it alone, don’t touch it again, and just ride. I don’t want to keep adjusting it this way then that way, then back to this way. So is that Legends? Adam Sandoval is riding Legends on both his Road Glide & Indian Darkhorse I believe.

I run the legend full air the rear on my 16’ street glide and the axeo 21 on the front love the ride but it does take time to dial the rear in especially if you run a passenger or the bags are full but with on board air compressor you can adjust it going down the road! Not progressive

Put a set of legends on my wifes sportster they where very good, but she is short and they didn't make a shorter version. I ended up putting the progressive 490 on for her they are good but not as good as the legend. Now for the bad I put the Legend AXEO front cartridge on my fat bob and they are horrible. I will be removing them and putting Ohlin front and rear.

I have stock shocks on my 2004 flhtci. The rear bottoms all the time. I weigh 220 and my wife is 150. We have about 30 lbs in the bags and the shocks are pumped up to 37 psi. It is ridiculous that Harley has always given us a very limited, substandard suspension. I love my Harley but the weak suspension has always been a sore spot.

I'm not sure why everyone prefers the new harley coils over the old air shocks I've ridden both and I like the air and absolutely hate the coils the coils are so freaking stiff and the air is much much smoother

Currently running 444 on my WG, too firm for my 85 kg frame. Would not get them again and at $1100 Aud I expected a much better shock.
