When you say, "Those wines $30 & under are not meant to be enjoyed or aged beyond those two or three years." You're missing a lot of wines that can & do improve with age. Here's just a short list of many wines that not only improve with age, but shift & gain complexity from when they were released: Muscadet (20+ years), German Kabinett Rieslings(20+ years), Cru Beaujolais(15-50+ years), Langhe Nebbiolo(5-10 years), Chianti Classico (20+ years. It's not all wines from these regions, but there are producers out there that are making affordable wines that can not only improve with age, but are benchmark wines...like Marcel Lappiere Morgon. Aging wine & the wine gaining complexity has more to do with the producer & the quality of the wine than it does with the price tag.

Thanks Kirk for the additional info. It's a fair point, some affordable wines can age well, but they're going to be exceptions. These videos try to give a general understanding of how the wine world works, and I can't emphasize on exceptions or every individual component of the immense variety all around the globe, at the risk of losing everyone. Also talking about US wine prices. In Europe (like in France where I live) you certainly find wines that can age well for 25 euros. In most cases though, wines below $30 in the US are wines that'd cost 10-15€ in Europe and not that many of those are meant for aging. Anyhow, I'm sure you understand what I mean :) Thanks for the feedback, take care 🥂😊🙏

Hi, out of curiosity, so you mean we can pick the top wines from these regions, and they should be able to be aging? Any detailed information regarding to those that I can read more? Thank you

@@tungdinh4114 Yes, I regularly buy wines that have a long track record of aging well into their 20th year with improvement. If you're looking for more information, I'd suggest that you look into the Wine Berserkers Forum. There are a lot of passionate people that know a lot about wine in those forums. I would also encourage you to go into your local wine shop, get to know someone that works there that you can trust makes good recommendations.

Julien, you didn't mention the likes of Riesling, Spatlese & Tokaji which are all good for aging. I have Spatlese that is 22 years old & it is in top form. Love your videos btw
