A how to video instruction guide on how to remove, clean and refit a detergent dispenser drawer on a Indesit Washing Machine. what is nice is that this applies to most models of Indesit from 2004.

Thank you, I've tried for 2 years to get that out. I was frightened if using brute force but when I saw you do it I got confidence and to worked. One clean washer draw and one Happy lady.

I had to grab it by the sides and yank it REALLY hard! Don't do it holding the front like he does in the video as it broke a clip off

Why a compartment 1, it says do not put detergent in compartment1. Is it for machines with a pre wash cycle?

Older models had prewash, but for some dumb reason they got rid of it in 2009 or so

Push down on the grey softener drawer at the top of it it should pull out, make sure your pushing the drawer up towards the top as there’s one of them catches on the right hand side

Thank you..my machine belonged to one of those shows where they send ocd cleaners because it was that bad.... I've the machine for around 6 years and it's the first time I've taken the drawer out to clean it... Whoops.

Hello, I have a problem..... the detergent drawer was very stiff and the front has come off. I can only move the actual detergent drawer back and forth a couple of centimetres. Any ideas please on how I can remove the detergent drawer itself?

detergent build up in the groves it slides in can act a bit like glue. But even so indesit desperately need to alter the design to have a release on it rather than having to whip it out like so.

@@whichwasher2007 I would add. Soak the drawer in warm water and vinegar for approx one hour. All will come off much easier.

Bro ur clip saved me! Stupidly put liquid detergent in softener compartment. Result obvious-towards the end foam jutting out all over!!-stopped machine but couldn’t take the dispenser out until ur clip showed me. Terrible design. Don’t buy Indesit.

What a dreadful design. My Bosch is so easy, I just push the blue siphon cap down.

It is. And not just bosch but alot of manufacturers use the blue siphon as a release mechanism. Though the drawer design on these indesits started in the early 90's.
