The 6.2 is truly beastly, but it's only about 60-70 horsepower more than the 5.3 at the wheels, not like 100+ or something. I've seen 6.2 dyno at 335 at the wheels...most average 350-355 at the wheels. The 5.3 averages 280-290 and have seen as low as 268. It makes no sense to get the 5.3 over the 6.2. It's a 2500.00 option, very inexpensive if buying brand new, which might be 50-60k. However, if buying used it can be easier to find a damn unicorn! If most had the option in front of them between two identical trucks with the only difference being a 5.3 or 6.2 I think most would fork over the extra 3k for the bigger motor. I would...but I couldn't find one, sadly. Not in the configuration that I wanted. It was either the wrong color or no sunroof, totally beat up body or torn up interior, etc. So, I got the exact truck that I wanted, but with the smaller engine 😣. ...but I got a whipple, man. No regrets. I'm way faster. When you get into performance mods you can turn almost any motor into anything. Add a cam, upgraded lifters, hardened pushrods, springs, forged internals, blower, headers, valve train, fuel system, etc.. This 5.3 in the video is the real deal. Beast mode.
