Gentle Whispering ASMR

Gentle Whispering ASMR

10 жыл бұрын

This video used to be unlisted but many people have privately asked me to make it public so here it is :) I hope that's ok. It's been shot with just my camera mic and in my kitchen so you might hear my fridge humming.
I know I haven't posted in a while, there have been some complications that limited me in producing the videos, I hope you guys understand. :) I am working on the video for my handsome stallions again, as promised, so I hope you will enjoy it as it arrives. Much love! :D

I can't believe anyone would complain about the amount of time between videos. What you do Maria requires a great deal of creativity. As someone who has been fortunate enough to publish a few written works I know how much mental and emotional energy it can take to do something like this, especially given the fact that the rest of life doesn't stop while one is under pressure to complete a creative project. Not to mention the basic reality that sometimes a person's creative pool just runs dry and needs to be replenished. You do a wonderful job and I'm appreciative of your videos, whenever they might be posted.
@raelraven3

***** On one level I agree with you (reading between the lines of your response) that Maria's voice is what brings so many of here and keep us here. However, having said that, there are several other factors you seem to be overlooking. First, Can you imagine the backlash she would she get if the bulk of her content was of the "read the back of a shampoo bottle" variety. Second, if that's all there was to it Maria (and every other person who uploads ASMR stuff on here) would be doing it that way. Third, she has the right not to feel alienated from what she is producing, by which I mean she has the right to get some personal fulfillment from the work she does in providing ASMR content for the rest of us. That's where the creative part of the process factors in (beyond reading the back of shampoo bottles), not just for the listener, but for the speaker. The real problem here is that some listeners apparently feel they have the right to expect new video after new video over short time spans. If there is any kind of a lull then you have some people (not you necessarily) who whine like spoiled brats.
@skttrbrian
@skttrbrian 10 жыл бұрын
And would you complain about those who choose not to read your written works? If the customer/consumer/subscriber is no longer interested then that's their business.
@raelraven3
@raelraven3 10 жыл бұрын
skttrbrian No, I wouldn't complain about people who have not read what I've written. However, I wouldn't have much patience either with people who demand constant output and either a) don't care about the content and quality of what is being produced as long as it keeps coming or b) push for new material and then complain that it's not of sufficient quality, never taking into account how difficult it can be to continue to produce quality creative product over and over again. Making something that is both enjoyable to create and enjoyable to watch takes time and effort.

Thank you! :'-) you have no idea how much I appreciate this. An ongoing struggle of quality over quantity gets the best of all of us. It still does not excuse the absence of new videos from me. I am hard at work on them. *shakes hands* :)
@raelraven3

***** Some days the creative juices flow easily, some days it's a struggle. As far as I'm concerned, on balance quality trumps quantity, and yet you somehow manage to achieve both. Like so many people, on many nights sleep was largely a rumor for me until I found your videos. I will forever be in your debt for what you do :-)

Whenever I'm feeling anxious, I stop what I'm doing and watch your videos. I learned about ASMR through googling "Whispering when reading" because a few weeks ago I saw a lady in a receptionist office, reading her book and whispering the words, which left a tingling sensation over the back of my head. It relaxed me. So once I googled it, it took me to your video. I love your videos, you are a freakin' goddess who's helping me calm down every day. Thank you.

Wait what? People are complaining about a lack of videos and unsubbing? Why even bother? Most youtubers just make videos when they can and it isn't actually their job. Even if it is, they only get paid if they make a video and we get free entertainment. KZfaqrs don't owe us anything, they have given us something, not the other way around. People should stop being so entitled and realise that the world doesn't revolve around what they expect and what they want.

It truly hurts to see so many negative comments in several different directions here. 1. If you have a strong political voice, please make a video about it and share it with the KZfaq community. 2. If you have a cause you're passionate about raising funds for, see the same suggestion as #1. 3. If you don't like this video, how about you just don't watch it. Please don't pollute this space with negativity when truly the aim is peace and relaxation.

I have a serious question that I would like to discuss: why are some people so seemingly outraged by the idea that others find ASMR at least somewhat sexual? Any time a listener or a journalist or a skeptic so much as hints that there might be something sexual to it, a good number of listeners nearly freak out. Why is that such an offensive idea? I don't know that anyone is suggesting that ASMR videos are a form of pornography...only that there is some element of sexuality inherent in some listeners' experience of ASMR/whispering. I'm not interested in getting into an argument, and this isn't meant to be inflammatory. I'm just interested in finding out why there is such hostility to the idea.

Honestly, I'm not outraged or put off by the idea even though I do believe it to be mostly incorrect. What pisses me off is seeing rude/offensive sexual comments about the ASMRtist or video that often sound like they would be said by cavemen with no self control. There is no need for those types of comments.

I loveee this! It doesn't have to be an elaborate role play to be relaxing! Newspaper sounds and your voice are all I need, I think I only made it through the first minute when I watched this for the first time!

The newspaper sounds, the education and your voice: this is such a lovely video! It would be great if you ever felt like filming something similar again - perhaps in a less echo-y room? :) BTW, your kitchen looks really nice! x EDIT: Actually I've changed my mind - the echo kinda helps the tingles!

Ah, this video turns 10 years old today. I've been watching it for those ten years. I was here when it was first posted and had just found out about ASMR a little bit earlier that year. So I can pretty much follow along, reciting each word and waiting in anticipation for my favourite triggers, those sharp S sounds that have sent shivers down my back and the soft echo that lulls me to sleep. I think I'll go read the original article as a way to celebrate a decade of my favourite ASMR video.

Maria, I found your videos, as well as a few other ASMR artists' videos back in March. You are my favorite though I have to say. The ASMR community has helped me to feel relaxed, helped with my depression and helped me sleep. Thank you for continuing to make videos despite your busy schedule. Hearing you touching the newspaper in this video made me think of campfires. Would you be able to do an end of summer type of campfire or fireplace video? Seeing the fire and hearing the crackling of the fire would be awesome! If not, it doesn't matter because all of your videos are amazing. Thank you so much for your videos.

This video has it all. I get tingles from the beautiful writing of the article as much as Maria. "a chill spread like carbonated bubbles through the back of my head." Truly, the New York Times is a work of art, and so is this video!

Beautiful reading, and I love your whispering. Thanks Maria! I grinned when you were mentioned in the article, and I thought it was pretty on point. It's disappointing that your subs drop for one video that apparently "wasn't worth the wait", but it's given me the most tingles since your last video. Much love.
