Once again, the video, its bad quality. IF your gonna give me a thumbs down, because I don't have MAC quality videos then kiss my ass. Those of you who are here for my experience, and to reflect on MY DATA only then your welcome. :) the end.

Based upon how you are shaking the camera, I think we have identified the problem with your shooting accuracy.

Agreed, I noticed his groups are all over the place. Accomplished shooters always makes the same mistake/s.

I have a White Oak Armament 18" SPR 1:7 twist with a mid-length gas system on my build. With my 69 grain sierra match king loads, I can shoot sub moa groups at 100 yards that I can cover with a nickel. Can consistently hit a 2 inch circle at 200 yards. (longest range I have). Really, even 50 grain AMAX were grouping similarly. Superb barrel so far for me with my loads.

That White Oak Barrel is (or should be) capable of 1/2 MOA with the right Round.

Yeah they are I'm not sure why he did a video of shooting FMJ out of a barrel that wasn't designed to shoot junk ammo. Builds a replica of a designated marksman rifle and can't even shoot some black hills otm rounds like what would be used in real life.

Greatly informative video! I think perhaps the layout of the dialogue got you some thumbs down. If a viewer isn’t careful they could miss that you are disgruntled with the FN barrel and not the White Oak. Anyways, nice shooting and great to see a wide variety of ammo tests. In the end it all comes down to data driven results. Keep up the good work!

I also had a bad experience with the 18 inch rifle length FN. Poor accuracy and reliability.

Don't forget to try some sierra 52/53 grain mk bullets. Even in a fast twist they can be very accurate.

Nice shooting, very thorough. I've been debating on whether or not to get into reloading and I think you've peaked my interest more.

I have come to learn so much over the last summer, i do not ever buy ammo anymore ha ha its so much easier to just handload em and tune em to my rifle.

You mean "piqued" but the result is the same. And, yes, reloading highly recommended if you shoot either for accuracy or repetitively. .223's are painful due to brass recovery.

Im shooting a 20" Green Mountain chrome lined barrel and I am getting sub moa with 77 TMKs. IMR 8208 and seated to 2.235-2.240, solid performer in 2 other 18" barrels. Your loads look very light - I shoot 69 SMK, 1-9 twist, with H335 23.8 grains - sub moa in a Del Ton 16" barrel!

I have been shooting the same 77 grain load for about 2 years now, 22.6 grains of IMR8208 and a 77 grain bullet. Its strange some days I get great accuracy with multiple five round groups and other days it doesn't seem as such. I am gonne run a proper ladder test this upcoming month I may post an updated video documenting my experience.

I'm sorry I think I might have heard you wrong. Did you say you shot those groups at 50 yards?

No, he did say he shot those at 50 yards. With a match trigger, match grade barrel, custom hand loads, optic and a rest that blows! This kid can't shoot for shit!

thanks for the video. I'd be interested in seeing velocity along side the groups. you may find some interesting things in the nodes.

Ill look into what my recorded velocities were, those loads that turned out to be the most accurate are running about 2650 for both my Sierra and NOsler 77s with IMR8208 and Varget.

Since this video I have learned a lot about accurate hand loads. Running a ladder test on this rifle showed me that for 55 grain bullets, around 25 to 25.6 grains of IMR8208 with a velocity of about 3050 FPS shoots very tight. I am shooting 55 grain Blitzkings into about .5 MOA when I do my part. For heavier bullets 2700 -2650 seems to be the sweet spot 75s and 77s. I recently purchased 100 ELD-M .223 73 grn bullets to test. I have had great luck with their .264 143 and 140 grain cousins so ill be testing them this weekend on a ladder test.

Correct, I and several others have said as much. Black Hills MK262 mod 1, or 77gr IMI Razor Core mod 1. Why test a great Barrel with junk ammo?

Hows the barrel shooting in 2022?
@89tonstar
@89tonstar Жыл бұрын
I actually replaced it last year for a Daniel defense mk12 barrel. But she shot great while I had her! I considered getting another barrel from white oak but considering my experience with them I wanted to try someone new. Daniel defense had a deal going at the time like 50 bucks off If I remember correctly.

Mmmm I think it has to be the load itself that is crap. My Barrel really does not like superformance powder. With 75 grain TAP It was shooting about 1 MOA. However HOrnadys 140 grain 6.5 HPBTs shoot sub .5 MOA out of my Savage 12

Thank You for the video man. Didn't get how long Your barrel is. I am building my very first AR-15 and want a decent barrel that is 18-inches or longer, cuz otherwise the gun looks like a dang toy, IMO.

Sorry for the delay on the reply I have been looking at my comments lately. Its an 18 inch White Oak Armament Barrel. Over the last year it has really broken and is a tight shooter, even when its hot. I suggest at least 18 inches to anyone wanting to build a accuracy AR15. For a battle rattle, 16 inches is almost preferable.
