@@monaewmw Of course. That was Dolly's answer for reporters who wanted to create some animosity between the songwriter and original performer, Dolly, and the performer who got the greatest aclaim for I Will Always Love You, Whitney. So sad we lost an artist like Houston. Thank God we continue to enjoy the great Dolly Parton.

A Warrior Actually that song was already royalty! Dolly is the only female singer to have the same song reach #1 in two different decades. Dolly and Vince Gill had a top 10 hit with the same song in the 90’s. For three decades Dolly was making big money on this song, long before Whitney’s cover. “I will always love you,” Has always been Dolly’s signature song. With that being said, Whitney did an incredible take on Dolly’s simple song. And Dolly was honored that Whitney recorded it.

I absolutely 💖Dolly Parton but Whitney took her classic hit and it a universal phenomenon. Until Whitney actually listened to the song she didn't necessarily feel the emotional depths of it like many people when it comes to all types of music. Country artists have some breathtakingly beautiful love songs. My all time favorite is You & I by Eddie Rabbit and Crystal Gayle. If you listen to the actual lyrics and you'll fall in love with it "And I remember our first embrace that smile that was on your face"💖 Whitney and Dolly are music royalty. Both are phenomenal in their right. Rest in paradise Whitney 🙏

LOL Whitney didn't like the song. David Foster the songs producer when into Long Beach to get a copy of Dolly's recording. They didn't have it, they Linda Ronstadt's 1975 album Prisoner In Disguise with the song on it. David said as soon as he heard the song he knew what they could do with the song. When Dolly found out that they were using Linda's recording as the template for theirs she called David to give him the final verse. He had to add another 45 seconds to include the final verse. The arrangement is basically stolen from the Ronstadts recording, they just played with the melody line.

Dolly Parton is such a great songwriter, she had met childhood songwriter heros who were down and out and they told her to NEVER give up publishing rights. So she swore not to, Elvis wanted to sing this song but they wanted 50% of the publishing. This nonsense story about some average country song that WH blessed.

Bobby just added to it with alcohol and craziness..I like to believe it's the love for her family that Whitney kept them close to her, which in term made it impossible to get out of the drug lifestyle..if only Kevin and whitney were both single at the right time, maybe Kevin would've been able to steer her away ..who knows ...RIP NIPPY 💜💜

Everyone does this. When you talk to your boss, or even a random stranger, you change your tone of voice, your choice of vocabulary, and you’re mostly less expressive and more attentive of what the other person has to say. We speak differently in different occasions. I don’t speak the same way to my friends as I do to my family, or I might just get in trouble.
