the knights of awesomeness I think the best thing about world enough time/the Doctor falls is it doesn’t contradict any other origin for the cybermen. The Doctor himself says they are inevitable and will always happen in the episode. That was just how they started on the Colony Ship and for tv only fans was a great genesis to connect with.

The point about the Cybermen was that they were a human race who turned to cybernetics when their lifespans began to shorten. At the moment the only cyborgs we have on Earth are people who have to be - amputees with artifical limbs, people who need life-support to breathe, artificial voices for peopel who can;t speak. What would we do though if everyone started getting weak and sick and we could fix it with artificial limb and organ replacements? At the moment we can't make artificial organs and there's a shortage of donors, what if we could make implantable artificial hearts or whatever? In fact many thousands are kept alive with artificial kidneys - dialysis. And what if in the future we can make articial parts that are superior to the originals? Peopel might CHOOSE to have say their eyes replaced if we can make superior bionic eyes that look the same as human eyes. And so on. I'd day that unless there's some mass revolt against us becomign cyborgs (e.g. some religious movement, liek the Butlerian Jihad in Dune which saw any technology that emulated thining banned)....it's inevitable. As Arthur C Clarke says in his novel 2001 (aboutt he aliens that built the Monoliths) "As soon as their machines were better than their bodies, it was time to move on"

A few of the older cybermen aren't scary. You need a creepy voice too and even stomping that they have in 21st century. Not a normal sounding man in a spacesuit. I do like the mondas cybermen especially in 2017. I think they should mix old with new. I like how they revamped the Mondas cybermen in 2017

I've always wanted to see these ones revamped as I can agree that they are by far the best followed closely by the original Mondasians. It's unlikely we'll see them any time soon, but if we do, it will be amazing. The voices are also incredibly spine chilling which is a great factor

Also, real planet 10 is assumed to be VERY VERY large, where as Mondas was a twin earth, just upside down. I Love the idea of naming planet 10 Mondas though!! Definitely my name for it from now on.

Well, he got around this by saying that these can't REALLY be the original cybermen because they are not on Mondas. So, I guess the theory is that these people, being from Mondas but no longer ON Mondas, reached the same conclusion as their people back on their homeworld, and enacted it in a very similar fashion on this ship. tbh the original is just too cheesy for modern audiences, they changed just enough to improve the design. the giant lamp on their head would have made them impossible to take seriously.

I honestly prefer the new version. It's easier to take seriously, with the medical horror not impeded by duct-taped headlamps and table-sized chest-units.

The first few Doctor's were in their 40's and 50's when they took the role, as the Doctor was supposed to be a more grandfatherly figure. Plus, when you consider that he's thousands of ears old now, his outward appearance isn't terribly important. It's only since the new series that the Doctor regenerates into a fairly young man, and Peter Capaldi was a way of kind of referencing the old way of doing things. He didn’t think they would be taken seriously

Technically the Mondasian Cybermen are different from the ones Bill got turned into because they were not on Mondas when it happened. These were Mondasians that got trapped on the spaceship, and while evolving, arrived at the same conclusion as their brothers back home. Since it seems like Bill was one of the first, if not the first, full conversion though, I guess you could say she was a prototype. Thanks for watching!

Doctor who is a worldwide phenomenon and it's been on American television for decades. In fact, the 8th Doctor was created solely to reboot the series as an American show.. so I don't see what's weird about a non Brit discussing the show. If only Americans were allowed to talk about American shows//movies the world would be a pretty boring place! Thanks for watching though!

Appearance doesn't equal character, haha. These Cybermen were more motivated, since their planet was destroyed. The socks made them look like they were still part human, which was much creepier to people in the 60's.

They look like a cheap, and very shitty, halloween costume. Nothing good about them, the design screams 70’s which then again most movie props related to scifi in those days did look like shit.

The Punisher , I don’t like big budget films to be honest. But i certainly don’t like “cardboard box” budgets either.

Passion for the Classic series is understandable, it's what's kept the show around for so long! But I'd rather have the new Cybermen than no Cybermen at all :) and I'm glad that the 2 seem to finally be coming together! Either way, I appreciate the enthusiasm! Thanks for watching! @@adamsrealm look past the cheap effects, and look at the idea. this "i don't like cardboard box budgets" attitude is extremely spoiled, Britain had only just recovered from WWII at this point, of course they weren't going to give a lot of budget to a children's TV series that nobody thought would last for decades. the point of these cybermen is that they are supposed to be humans in surgical gauze and carrying around their own crudely built life support systems. they weren't intended to be conventional cyborgs at this point. "Nothing good about them" how come tons of people were and are genuinely creeped out by them, then?

But so are all villains who are but a group rather than a single entity, yet this group persists, reappears in groups over and over again, and you cannot deny the menace they pose in Form of psychological horror which has been further elaborated on in nuwho with their reappearance where we see the hospital where they are transformed.
