Ya know what? I never thought of that. I was in my early 20's when Tool hit the scene, and have always wondered why so many young people claim to have never heard of them. Now I get it! They don't listen to terrestrial radio, and Tool was not available on streaming services until August of 2019. Maynard announced it while on Rogan's podcast BTW. Keep going MollyBoy. We'll be along for the ride. I'm old, and still crankin' Tool whenever the mood strikes.

I'm not trying to neg on Tool, but I don't find them particularly interesting. I've tried my best to listen to several songs, but none of them have clicked. I listen to absolutely everything. Opeth is my favourite band and Tool sounds like a student band to me next to Opeth. I'm happy for everyone enjoying them, but Tool is not for me.

There is no "best' TOOL song. They are all equally epic. But if I had to pick a long song that could blow your brains out with audio.... "Lateralus" or "Invincible." And if you want to see bad ass drumming. Danny's live drum cam doing "Pneuma." Brains will melt.

⁠⁠⁠@@owleye303 I actually found that Fear Inoculum is a great intro to those that are maybe new to metal or don’t really like the super aggressive angry metal of some of their earlier work (like my wife, I hooked her with Pneuma and now she requests this album regularly 😂😎)

Best comment on Tool I've ever read...because that's exactly what I've always thought...Well, I didn't go as far as including Zep or RUSH, no disrespect to either one of them, but Pink Floyd, in my opinion, had a good torch carrier in Tool... I always said, no other band like PF, but Tool got very very very close...😎

It took me about 1 minute of Stinkfist for Tool to become one of my favourite bands of all time. Still in my top-3. That was two decades ago. Just saw them live again the other day. Best concerts ever!

The lead guitarist of this band was roommates with the guitarist from Rage Against the Machine. Both started in the early 90’s. Tool is like one of the last ones left from that period. Still making amazing music. Good reaction and I promise you if you keep going with these guys you won’t be sorry. Total game changer. That is all ✌️

I was in high school in 1993 when I heard about this band I was literally blown away. I’d say 10,000 Days is their best all around as I truly believe it’s their peak performance. It’s a very personal album to Maynard. There’s something from every album that you will love. Trust.

My girlfriend gave me the TOOL album _Opiate_ for my 18th birthday. I'm now dangerously close to 50 years of age, and TOOL has been one of my favorite bands ever since. It was _an event_ when a new TOOL album was released. I remember my friend and I skipping school and waiting at the mall for the truck to show up to deliver the new album (Aenima) to the CD store. We had to wait all day, but I'll never forget driving around and giving that now-classic album a first listen. It was such an experience. These reaction videos have brought my love and appreciation of TOOL to a whole new level. I get chills when I see someone click into what makes these artists so special. Wow, I did not intend to write this much. One last thing. That girlfriend that gave me my first TOOL album? She's now my wife.

Finding lyrics to the songs are important. Maynard writes some thoughtful, introsoective stuff. Progressive rock genre. Inventive and creative like Pink Floyd the way they sound like no other rock band. So much individual talent working together seamlessly.

They cover Led Zeppelins song No Quarter - that alone should say a lot about Tool and Led Zeppelin. You should do both bands version and compare. Lucky to have seen them live and been rocking them since I was first learning snowboarding and they just came on the scene. DEEP Rabbit hole on this one. You have so many bands to discover.... 46+2

American here. I met my husband in 2014. He's Scottish.He immigrated over to the US in 2015. I told him about Tool and they are his favorite band. We saw them in Memphis in January 2020. Their time signatures are amazing.

Maynard James Keenan, otherwise, absolutely agree. Also, great reaction. The Tool rabbit hole is deep and Tool are life-changing, if you let them, hence the name Tool. Use the music and messages as a tool to inform your life. The band has been making music for over 30 years, and I've been a fan for over 20. Yes, this song is a great introduction to Tool, but the best advice I can give you is to listen to the first EP through to the latest release, "Fear Innoculum". They don't have a bad song, so no matter how you choose to experience them, you will come out the other side better than when you went in. Just sayin'.

saw them again for the second time in 12 years in toronto on the 20th of november. they were even better than the first time i'd seen them and 3 of the 4 members are _much_ closer to 60 than 50 now. the craziest thing to me is that danny is the oldest and _over_ 60 years old still playing a two and a half hour set playing their craziest songs still night after night. gotta respect the crap out of all of them, but watching justin shaking the tightness out of his hands after every song is so understandable to me, i have no idea how he can even play the bass like that at all, let alone for two hours plus straight, over and over again.

You DO NOT want to miss the Tool rabbit hole. Life changing stuff bro, trust me, there's no one better. So how do u approach them? I recommend going in chronological order starting from the album Ænima. Take your time if you want, but no skipping songs! Sometimes there's a 1 minute instrumental "prelude" to a longer song, so you can pair those together for the reaction. I genuinely think this will be the most rewarding and enjoyable way to take this journey. Much love

I started with Aenima as my first album from them back in the day then went back to Undertow as had heard many of the songs like Sober and Prison Sex. Their album covers and artwork were epic! Been on the journey since…so glad they’re being introduced to so many more now. About damn time!

Can't imagine hearing this as my first Tool song as I had to wait almost 14 years after I started listening to them to get treated to little gem. As for where it ranks in Tool's catalog is very debatable because they have written so many great songs. For me, it's definitely in my top-10 but maybe not in my top-5, so keep listening and I'm certain you will enjoy your journey!

For sure, live sober, and I have seen a lot of reactors do that one. So, no copyright stuff it would seem. Though, I don't honestly think tool cares much if people are reacting. I see a lot of vids out there.

Tool's concerts are MIND BLOWING!!! The visuals and colors remind me of Pink Floyd shows. I think of them as a modern Pink Floyd..although their sound is different.

I'm not going to try to take credit here (well, maybe a little), but I suggested Tool to you on a couple of your Pink Floyd reactions. SO GLAD you did it, and I'll bet you are too! They're obviously a lot harder than Floyd, but there are similarities in that the music is very complex and interesting with meaningful and creative lyrics. Lots of great songs to pick from and the Tool army will really boost your subs.

I really enjoy watching people discover & “get” Tool 🤷🏼‍♂️I’m 52 & remember in the summer of 93 when “Sober” hit & I have to remind myself from time to time that yes there are people out there who have never heard Tool before 🤨 & it is pretty cool (to me at least) to watch folks discover it 🖤😳🤯🤤y’all be safe

EP dropped in '92. Four studio albums through 2006, then 13 years until Fear Inoculum in 2019 (they are now late 50s through 61 years old). Still amazing. Some describe them as the Pink Floyd of their generation.

Tom Morello is not in this band by the way but did go to highschool with the guitarist for this band, Adam Jones. Maynard, the lead singer was guest singer on rage against the machines know your enemy which you've reacted to already. That middle part where he's saying "I've got no patience now, so sick of complacence now" and that ending scream is Maynard singing.

Adam Jones (Tool guitarist) and Tom Morello (Ratm guitarest) went to school together, were in a band together in high school, and Jones moved in with Morello when he moved to LA to take a class (likely a class on movie special effects)
