I always knew that Hephestus made them. It made sense when he talked about making Pandora's box, and how he had to make it with the Flame of Olympus. I figured Hephestus would use special types of fires to make his signature weapons/tools/crafts. When the cutscene said, "Forged in the fires of Hades", it made sense why the blades were associated with evil. They were imbued with the fires of the Underworld

The original game states they were forged in the foulest depths of Hades so perhaps a blacksmith cursed by the gods (Hephestsus) forged them and perhaps originally forged them for Aries himself. Cause you gotta imaigne that the blades of chaos were around for awhile and you can totally see aries flailing those things around in his younger days.

@@KaptainKuba yeah i know right? I also still think that in the next game Kratos will need to take the blades to Musphelhiem to gain the flame of Sutur so that his blades do more fire damage. Cause the fire from the blades of chaos is flames from Hades which is another region of the Underworld in the mythological world. However the Flames or Sutur are WAY more powerful and destructive. So I can imagine Kratos travelling to that realm to find Sutur so he can get a few fragments of his legendary blade so that his blades of chaos burn hot enough to hurt Oden and Thor.

I think the blades of chaos and the blades of athena (which became the blades of exile) are both made from hephaestus. If Ares didn't forged the first blades and commanded Hephaestus to make them, I recon Athena did the same. Plus, Hephaestus made every weapon on Olympus

@@jokulle77 the novelization, the game and the lost pages slap you in the face with the fact that Leviathan was made to counter and to be Mjolnir's equal. The magic from the Blades of Chaos is the only thing in the 9 realms that can burn in Helheim and can kill the damned of Helheim. It makes senss that the Blades are supererior to the hammer.

I have a theory, what if Hephaestus is a giant that came from the Norse mythology and became the god of blacksmiths in Greek mythology , he might of thought since ragnorok fate is sealed he can escape then Zeus then locked pandora , then you got brok that notices the blades and the work of them so he might be the best blacksmith legend in all blacksmiths history , he makes weapons of gods , and so do dwarfs , I mean come on the ace it’s self is mind blowing

Can you make a video who explain what is the meaning of the boat you found at the place kratos flipped the temple. Tgere is a boat if you shine its crystal it give us the runes of all realms. Kratos's Blades were forged by Hephestes with the "Chaos Essence" Hence Chaos Blades. Whenever they changed names, they were the same Chaos Blades, just different names for that given game & meaning of the moment. In Greek mythology, "Chaos" was before everything, his blades were forged from that Essence. That's why they are ever so powerful & are always Kratos's strongest weapon.

I think the blades are the same but transformed and after the events of GOW3, Athena took the blades of exile from him which turned them back into the blade of chaos. They always find a way back to kratos because he is cursed with them following him forever. Athestus didn’t comment on them because he has made loads of weapons so it doesn’t surprise him to see any of them around Greece. Would be like pointing out every person you see each day and saying if you are friends with them or not 😂

When Hephaestus says this is my punishment, in God of War 3 he is referring to being punished by making the blades for Ares without Zeus' permission, and not just for Kratos opening Pandora's box. That would not have been possible if the blades were never made.

Pls correct me if im wrong but in original greek mitology im pretty sure Zeus´s thunder bolt, Poseidon´s trident and Hades´s helmet was a gift from the Hecatoncheires (the fifty headed giants) for freeing them from the depths of tartarus And after that the Hecatoncheires helped the Gods against the Titans and ended the great war. In the god of war (2018) novel, it states that he went searching for the blades of chaos, after he recovered. I don't think the blades of Athena are the blades of chaos upgraded since he knew where they blades of Exile were already.

Same reason why he threw the sword away the moment he thought he killed Zeus, he didn't care about power, nor ruling. He only remembered what he had lost because of his ambition for power. But now, after killing Zeus, Kratos had no desire to live, plus he realized he had caused Greece too much pain. The only thing that pushed him forward before was his rage and desire for vengeance, now take that away, and what is left? A broken man left with relentless remorse for killing his family, what use is absolute power when he lost what was most important to him? BTW the sword never lost it's power, it looks just like it looked when you found it in the Underworld, when hilt is touched by a God the shine returns. (Btw Athena isn't a God anymore, she's a specter)

Kratos vowed never to use the blades of chaos, so instead used the Blades Of Athena through God Of War III until it turns into the Blades of Exile. The reason why he never used it is because its the same weapon that got his family passed away.

First the turtle's name is charlie 😂 its an inside joke that goes back to e3 2016 and no, i dont think he's the brother of freya. He's just a turle. Svartlheim was sealed because the team did have enough time to put it in the game. But im sure it will be in the next

Hey Kuba! You know come to think about it i realized that kratos is NOW based on an actual mythological character (Sorry for bad english) in the of gow4 there's a drawing of kratos fighting baldur in the jötenheim mirror and in that drawing Kratos' name is fárbauti and Atreus's name is loki as for baldur it's the same. The giants call him that name maybe because his name is from greece so it's sound strange and difficult to spell or maybe it's just a nickname however after doing some research about loki i found out in the norse mythology loki's father named fárbauti which translates to "cruel striker" which is a fitting name for kratos, but i realized something does that mean kratos is NOW based on a mythological character? because if you didn't know kratos isn't based on any mythological character unlike other gow characters and before you say he's based on kratos\\cratos from the greek mythology well that's not true kratos from gow and kratos from greek mythology are not the same person (developers already confirmed that) and the character was given a name in the late stage during the development of gow1 and it was by an accident the developers say that they didn't know there was a god named kratos in the greek mythology and even the director of gow3 sayed that it was a "happy mistake" but since in gow4 his norse name is fárbauti and he's the father of loki which means kratos is NOW based on a mythological character NOT from the greek mythology but from the norse mythology the only diffrent is that Kratos is a god while fárbauti is a giant but these kind of changes happens a lot in gow.

Actually, I think they weren't meant to be a weapon. Hephaestus wanted to kill Kratos so he forged it to electrocute him, but knowing how strong Kratos is, he countered the attack and used it against him so it ultimately became useful not only as a tool, but as a weapon.

What I don't get is, the line in gow 1 "forged in the depths of hades." if Hephestus did make the blades of chaos, was he in hades/hell at the time he made them? Because in gow 3 it was stated Hephestus was sent to the underworld after kratos opens pandora's box. When all the evil escaped from the box and consumed zues with fear and anger.
