I found that there's a pretty cool meaning behind Aphelios's name. It derives from the word Aphelion which means the furthest point from the sun in a celestial body's orbit. I found that pretty interesting considering they're Lunari, it's very fitting!

It wouldnt surprise me if noctum is a unique consumable item to aphelios (like the hextech line for viktor) and that he gains range, AD/AP and resistances for a while upon using it

No he's a marksman, it litterally says on the League page

Aphelios' ult could be that he loses access to abilities (he's mute = silenced) but his attacks get enhanced, and maybe some of his abilities have passives that only work during the ult

Having Dianas theme playing in the background is a nice touch

It is just Ethilios, his sister is going to be his r, and he’s going to be a champion that can use any weapon. Aka:he’s going to swap between ranged and meele

Imagine Alune being released as a champion in the future while Aphelios gets a rework where he gets to use the Moonstone weapons without Alune’s help and not using the Noctume essence anymore (for voice lines) because he doesn’t feel pain anymore even without the essence.

Aphelios reminds me so much of Uldren Sov from Destiny.... the whole "sister" dynamic, his character design, it's very, very reminiscent.

I really hope Aphelios's ult will be something like Aatrox ult prerework where they gain combat stats, and if they story is a hint he might get some some sort of ranged weapon if there isn't one already in his basic abilities

My guess on his possible abilities (TLDR at the bottom): Feel like he will have an ability that allows him to switch guns (judging from the October Champion Roadmap passage), probably 3 or more types (moon phases? New, half, full, and maybe waning/waxing cresent or eclipse). One of the range weapons might be a chain-scythe (looking at the splash art), but scythe doesn't shoot, and thus contradicts a bit with the short summary... Or maybe a scythe that shoots out moonlight beams? After reading through his bio, I think he's a long-ranged assassin/adc (“Aphelios’ training as an assassin has been given reach by Alune’s magic-his blades now an arsenal of mystical weapons” --bio), weilding magical blades that can shift into other forms (“With a whisper, she pushed magic into his hands-a replacement for his *blades* solidifying into moonstone.” --bio) and shoots out moonlight when slashing. Probably dealing on-hit magical/true damage? (Alune “reveal hidden pathways and the truths by the moon's light”--bio) Might have an ability to go over walls (hidden pathways), and probably has an ability related to his sister that gives him buffs. Supposingly activating this ability will grant him a buff to deal on-hit effects as said above. Might also be the passive though. Switching the blades might alternate how the moonlight is being shot, maybe varying in distance, AS, crit damage/chance, physical/magical penetration, attack type (balistic/beam) or whatnot. Looking back at the splash art, he might be able to summon his sister for help in times? His ult might be summoning his sister into battle and buffing his abilities? *TL:DR* Let's see... Concluding my spectulation: *Passive* : Sister's magic made him a ranged assassin. Probably also made him deal on-hit magical damage. Edit: On second thought, since the swapping weapons are like “swapping through them like cycles of the moon” (October Roadmap passage), maybe the weapons change base on time passage instead of manually changing it? *Q* : Maybe a skill shot/ability based on his current weapon. *W* : Switching weapons (@TF's card shuffling)? Might alternate how his autos play out, and maybe even change Q's effect. If R is the changing weapon ability (Jayce-like), then W might be summoning his sister's power for a buff. Maybe W will activate the on-hit effect for deaing True damage, and the passive only deals magical damage. *E* : Gussing it's assassin/mobility related, most likely a dashing ability that allows him to escape from/engage into situations. Should be able to dash through walls, and maybe being untargetable during dash (looking at that “hidden pathways” line, could be a pathway to get out of dangerous situations) *R* : Maybe summoning his sister's power for some effect, or this might be the weapon changing one (looking at you Jayce).

He's not an assassin in game, confirmed by a Rioter. They also said that Qiyana is a mage in the lore, but assassin in game.

It could be similar to jayce where he switched from range to melee but maybe he scales with ap or maybe it scales with both ap and ad for the physical and spiritual side or it could just be like jayce but it wears off and you have to buy it again from the store that could be interesting decide ng weather or not to buy the juice or nah
