From his debut as a popular heroic Hasbro action figure and animated series character, appearing in various comic books published by Marvel Comics and DC Comics as well as gracing the pages of Image Comics and IDW Publishing, arguably being the best U.S. Army Special Forces operator and hand-to-hand combat instructor in the entire franchise, having a black belt in a dozen martial arts while favoring Ninjutsu tactics in many of his own missions, displaying natural abilities that seem to be borderline superpowers, friendship becoming fierce rivalry with his former comrade Thomas Arashikage aka Storm Shadow, special bonds with his pet wolf named Timber and then his love and G.I. Snake Eyes is so much more OP than a lot of people realize. He's also fast enough to dodge multiple lasers, giving him FTL combat and reaction speed. He also has many crazy Arashikage secret techniques like being able to disappear in plain sight and also knows all the steps to the Seven Steps to the Sun. If he uses it he can pretty much kill anyone he faces if he can land the strikes.

About the only thing Snake Eyes would gain is a little more lifting strength and a slightly higher healing factor, which he already has. That's one of the Arashikage techniques. He can heal faster by focusing his chi.

I believe Snake-eyes underwent Delta Force training prior to his first mission in G.I. Joe. When he was in his Army dress uniform at General Flagg's funeral, which was very early in G.I. Joe's first year, he wore a green beret. But when he got out of the Army after Vietnam, his uniform hat was a normal soldier's. When Hawk and Stalker were putting together the team, Snake-eyes was their first pick. But he didn't actually join the other original Joe's until their Joe training was almost complete. So what was he doing in that time? Well he COULD'VE been going through Green Beret training, but with his ninja, Ranger, and LRRP training there wouldn't have been a huge need for that AND green beret training is a long pipeline. BUT if he was going to be the team's commando, Delta Force's 6 month operator course would've been invaluable. And since Delta is technically under the Special Forces umbrella, they do get to wear the coveted Green Beret.

I really really wish that the new Snake Eyes movie was an adaptation of that Origin of Snake Eyes story from the Marvel comics. That was a great and heartfelt origin story and featured other great heroic characters like Stalker, Scarlett, Hawk and Storm Shadow.

Well, the new movie Snake Eyes is an Asian with a British accent likely the most dialogue in the film along with the most facetime actually showing his face. The opposite of the actual Snake Eyes character from the source material.

I heard the actual masks for Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes were at the very end of the movie. Effectively, GQ face Snake Eyes, because of course the face time in their contract. Utterly stupid.

@@davford4683 No I haven't seen the movie, but I've collected the comics since issue #2 back in the early 80s and rushed home from school every day to watch the cartoon. I have no problems really with him being white, my problem is that his backstory, which is what makes him who he is, has been tossed in the bin. All the tragedy that motivates him to be Snake Eyes is absent. Snake Eyes does not talk, He wears a mask to hide his horribly scared face. What we are getting is None of these things.

@@CordellPotts I know the backstory, but I mean what do you expect, it’s a PG-13 movie, the industry waters down everything, because they want to attract everyone, not everyone is gonna know his full backstory say like you and I, or the rest of Sage’s audience, they have to appeal to everyone, and I think this as good as we’re gonna get as far staying “true” to the original source material…maybe we’ll get an adaption, like they did Logan(Wolverine) or Deadpool, something rated R.🤷🏾♂️but for now this is all we got, and hopefully it doesn’t disappoint me like Mortal Kombat did lol.

I was reading the recent Batman Zeropoint comic and it just swooped Snake Eyes in the battlefield throughout each loop they fought and even gained the attention of every fighter and at the end Bat man used sign language to help make Snake Eyes understand why he needs to win and so Snake Eyes went into the storm saluting at Batman hopefully we'll see him again in a new comic series of either Transformers or Batman

I heard long ago, that SNAKE EYES , was supposed to be cobra and STORM SHADOW was supposed to be a Joe. But, hasbro toys screwed up and mistakenly switched the packaging and marketing, so to recover, the Cartoon and the Comics changed the character's organizational affiliation to match the toys.

I understand the asian racelift given American Ninja in this cultural appropriation day will have people upset, and it's not that big a deal given 1:00 we usually don't see his face. I do think it's hard to have a solo movie with him. Just hope it's better than that godawful rock 'em sock 'em robots melee combat no flinching GI Joe Operation Blackout, which had a great story but godawful tough gameplay.

@@MrVariant personally I don't mind Henry Golding playing him, but it actually is a big deal in the source material that he's a white guy. That's one of the biggest things about his character, and one of the reasons it was so believable that Storm Shadow killed Hard Master. Snake Eyes is an outsider but Hard Master trusted him more and taught him techniques that he refused to teach Storm Shadow. Edit: Since someone didn't understand what I was saying, I'll go ahead and put that Zartan killed Hard Master here, which pretty much every G.I. Joe fan knows. Lol

@@89ludeawakening1 oh wow I'm just a filthy casual who watched a bit of GI Joe Sigma 6 and the original cartoon/movie (I will always play that movie opening line with panic spreading far and wide on January 6th, insurrection day, as that cobra bot punched out the camera (they similarly went after "fake news"). I can understand how it wouldn't apply, but then that AAPI Hate protection is too strong these days, especially with how even voice acting for other races is coming across as taboo. The best part of G.I Joe was always the rivalry between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. They have fought with and against each other many times over the years.
