Hello, I’m in Dallas, TX and my agency is Clutts Agency. I will say this. I always have well paid work.

One year in acting . But obsessed with it , attending different acting classes and audition techniques on tv and film via zoom , produced my own short film Disporya , won lots of lgbtq awards in film festivals and still counting , did couple of BG works here in New York to get my feet dirty and learn what’s going on in huge productions such as HBO AND NBC . Tried big talent agencies in New York , most feedbacks are great acting skills , great look on camera , great choice of audition scene , but not much credit to represent, so i decided to audition on boutique agency MULTI-ETHNIC TALENT NYC , SIGNED ! felt so great and loving CEO and agents ! Never felt so good that finally someone got my back , someone who believes in me and my talent who will sell me . BE OBSESSED IN ACTING AND OWN IT !

I'm currently with WME in Los Angeles definitely not a viable option for everyone starting out, but if you build up enough credits and know important people its definitely an agency that will help you book big jobs

I'm w BMG in Atlanta and have booked my biggest roles through them. I think some people worry about an agent before they're really ready. No resume, no reel, etc. Also, I think it's important to be with an agency that's a good match for your type. It's great to be with a big agency unless they have a ton of talent in your niche.

Love the video as always Kurt. Something I am really interested in knowing, is how do you know when to change agents? What are the signs/length of time you should give it before you respectfully terminate your contract? Also, is it ever okay to have more than one agent when you are starting out?

In Seattle, some of the best talent agencies are Big Fish NW, TCM Talent & Models, and All About You! But there are others that are also good: Topo Swope, Colleen Bell, MAM, and Actor's Group.

I’m in Nevada close to Reno if anyone knows places here! Not tons of experience no college film experience. However I was in front of the camera and behind the scenes as well. It was a sports program me and my best friends created for our high school as our senior project. My basketball coach was also my digital media teacher for four years who gave us the idea. It was an awesome experience. From creating the idea of the show, being on a set, hosting and acting, going through editing process of footage. It was like experiencing how a real production works in film. Even though it was just a sports show for my HS. I was credited as host, creator, and director. Made me want to get into film!

I currently live in Seoul South Korea. There are number of decent agencies but they do not actually function in the same way as one thinks an agent should. Basically you work freelance and get your own jobs for the most part. Some will ask for a high initial fee to be your Visa sponsor. This is not exactly legal but highly practiced. You then also pay them a commission per job. It's more of an agent's paradise and a challenge for aspiring actors.

Was sad to hear of rhe passing of Ms. Houghton. Losing her AND Shannon Reis in the same week is a blow to our Atlanta community.

A great agency in Miami Florida is the Green Agency. But unfortunately South Florida right now is pretty much devoid of much film production.

I've been struggling decades - white guy 6'0 240 - did 26 yrs of extra work , PA, background driver , stand in on big TV shows , studio films .Cam Op , Ad and grip work on indies etc ! Can't get sag waiverd , agent on phone , manager on phone , casting director on 🤳📱 ! Their cold and nasty and slam the phone down 👎. Why would I have a demo reel if I can't get work on camera 📸📸???? I'm never getting a demo reel ever ! I talk to the biggest stars in the world and they won't give me a break at their production company . Unfriendly ! I had 5 lousy auditions in my life through a extra casting office only ! Why didn't u fill in the blanks ? How come at the last convention I was at most of the stars I talked to told me they have an manager only , never an agent ! And why is the dipping sauces and noodles for the goddam wonton soup always goddam missing ?

Top agencies are referral only so you have to know someone either LA or Atlanta, including Houghton in Atlanta .. look for agencies that take submissions if you don’t have a strong resume or reel..

Ottawa or Toronto Ontario have the option of AMTI it offers acting and modeling. GL

Hi Kurt, how are you? I'm an actress living in a small town area in Europe with no acting possibilities. There are no acting classes possibilities for me and I don't want to do them online, because I feel like that defeats the purpose of acting. I'm currently making short films with my phone, sending them around to short film festivals that have no entry fees to build my resume. After I have some IMDB credit made by myself, I plan to get my headshot, edit my reel and book a commercial and before I accept the commercial, reach out to an agent. I learned this from you. Is this a reasonable way to get ahead? There is also a great director that I contacted and she is waiting for my information. Will agents expect the actor to fly out for the contract and in person conversations? Thanks Kurt, you're a life saver. Can't wait to meet you on set someday!

Hey there Kurt I recently signed with an agency known as john casablancas, and I am brand new to the whole acting world, they have a system of C list, B list, A list actors that they choose to represent. C list is someone who is not passionate about acting so they drop them, b list is someone brand new to the industry and does not have a head shot doesn't have a resume ect. A list are the ones who are professional already and could be sent to audition right away. And so I auditioned for an agent as a B list actor because I do not have any of those things and was one of their top picks for the audition thanks to your videos, but there is a kinda catch that because I am a B list, Meaning brand new they have a class they want me to take through their agency that goes through run way, improv, make up, gets me profesional headshots, self taping ect. for every week 1day 2 hour class 30 week coarse to make me in to a A list actor to get ready for auditions, at the end of the coarse that I can retake up to 3 years before I would have to renew the classes they also said any photo shoots with photogrophers I would want to get they would cover this will cost me 2 grand but them more around 7 they said they are investing in me to be in this for the long hall and do not want to take a risk with me if i'm unsure about the whole acting experience. This is where it brings me to question do you think this is a scam for new comers or do you think this is a genuien agency tring to bring new people to the acting world? Because I know in your video's you always mention you do not have to pay for representation, My question is do you think this is different from what you are talking about when you ay payed representation because it is not direct representation its more pay to set up for representation?
