It's fascinating how much in depth knowledge u have about watchmaking .... guess one day the industry should come up with a title for you specifically "watchmaking strategic analyst & historian " AKA timekeeper of watchmaking history :)

My frustration with Hermès is that there are very few boutiques. And when I do find one many current watch models for men are not even carried, and the salesperson has to open a catalogue. If I have to order from a catalogue, I might as well order online and save some money. If you want to be taken seriously about watches don't make your display look like an afterthought, tucked in a corner, after a long row of scarves... And if you open a boutique, carry the models. If they sell out, it's a different story.

I really admire Hermes commitment to their brand. I own a Hermes watch for this reason.

I liked it very much. I have three Automatic Hermes watches. But looking for the next Hermes movement watch. I am also looking for Hermes JL Special Atmos crystal doom clock on the secondary market now. The company had good vision and it is not been diluted into "fashion" oriented, rather keep the "tradition" in the bone. Thank you.

I don't think it matters that Hermes don't have the watchmaking legacy that some other brands do (excuse the double negative). If they are making gorgeous watches, they are making gorgeous watches.
