I would like to see two tiers of the WTC… the top 8/9 in one tier, and the other test playing nations (plus a possible couple of new teams, say Netherlands and Namibia, perhaps?) Not only would that help nations like Ireland and Zimbabwe actually play some test matches, it would add another layer to the wtc. Imagine teams who don’t take test cricket seriously, like South Africa, suddenly having to make sure they perform well! Because if they finish last, they would get demoted to league 2, whilst the best team in league 2 would get promoted to the big boy league. Imagine… Australia being forced to play a test against Ireland or Zimbabwe! I think it would be a good idea, which almost guarantees the ICC will not even think of it

good idea? the one organisation that wants wtc to wash out almost everytime? the same ICC which has been preparing low scoring pitches which has been helping only bowlers in finals? I totally agree with u that icc won't implement such good things which u mentioned because they only care about eyeballs and money rather than watching cricket grow.

Yeah the last team will be replaced by winner of the second tier consisting of zim ire and afg. Although not sure how Ned is Going to play test without having a test status 😅

Good idea just like in ranji trophy there is plate group and elite group Top 2 teams of plate group are selected for elite group and bottom 2 teams of elite group are demoted to plate group this increases competion among teams

While it may not be the most likely result, a 5-0 series result at home wouldn't be the most surprising result for Australia either. The knowledge that India could miss the final might well make the fifth test so much more intense.

💯As an Indian and I have a feel that It would be great if india draw one match or somehow able to win one match for pride downunder this time around as Aussies will be very much prepared for India this time considering what's happened last time ,aussies are very commited team in terms to play and win for country in comparison with other teams players who values leauges more than nation and they hate losing especially at home ,last time Indian brave team did that under rahane but this time aussies they will be prepared and ready for revenge of there recent test match losses against india,and now they also have great and world cup winning captain cummins with very strong unit ,the pressure is on india this time to repeat what they did last time around and hope pant gets fit during BGT ,we need his fearless aproach and X factor if we want to have any chance of repeating last time feat .💯

With how the tours are structured and with current qualifications conditions, India’s spot is pretty much guaranteed in WTC finals for the foreseeable future and other teams need to win series (not matches) in India to knock India out of the Finals.

it might be hard in next cycle considering probably a big lot of Indian players retiring and also considering we'll have to travel NZ where we weren't able to win a match in god knows how many years & Eng where we drew a series. Unless Ind-Pak start playing tests at a neutral venue like SL or UAE, Ind n Aus will have advantage considering NZ n SA are shit at selecting teams.NZ only made last final because Aus decided not to tour due to COVID, otherwise we'd have seen Ind v Aus final in 2021 itself.

English conditions favor SENA countries. India has reached the finals twice and they will reach the finals again but I don’t think they will win. Again. One of test for a test championship is a joke. Should be one at home for either finalists and one at the Lords. It will take more time but it will be fair and exciting.

If india lose all of there matches in Australia but sa draws 2 .its still aus vs india in finals lol.and even if india wins the series, it is still ind vs aus in finals. Only if india wins 4-1 is when SA or england go through to the finals. So if nothing out of the expected happens, it is inda vs aus..this is assuming that india and australia will win all of their other matches without any draws.

I am obsessed with her bowling just like we get obsessed with special stuff. Like every one watch best golf swing players... its hard to bend like that. Rashid khan does but he is too short. But secret is that she keep the ball above eye line and flat. On her day she will take 2-4 wickets easily. i dont think we can say the same in IPL. May be sunil naraine were terror before her change in action.

Jarrod is being a biased Australian by saying aussies win 3-2? What are you on about? Both teams are now different and are also led by 2 different and very good captains. Would certainly give Patty the edge there tho. Regardless, both teams are on par with each other. As for aussies, despite having an out of form batting order (which is frankly just a result of burn out due to playing so many test matches), someone almost always steps up for them and then they have a bowling attack which is just insanely consistent on top of contributing with the bat too, and a home advantage to add to all of that. If anything, 3-2 is the most unbiased take you could expect here rlly 🤷‍♂

@@Badabung-vu9wr if you pick up all the series Australia played in the last 8 years, you'd notice they don't finish well. 2016 SL tour, 2017 BGT, 2018 SA tour, 2019 Ashes, 2018-19 BGT, 2016 SA series 1st match, 2020-21 BGT, 2022 SL tour, 2023 Ashes, etcetera they've kept losing the plot. Starc's performance generally takes a hit towards the fag end of a big series (he averages ~40 in 4th/5th match of a test series). In the last 2 matches of Ashes 2021, Starc took only 4 wickets still Warne on air said that it was the most consistent he had ever seen Starc bowling towards the fag end of a long test series. This is why it is highly unlikely of Australia winning this series. Smith, Marsh, Khawaja, Head, Warner, Starc, Cummins, Lyon, Hazelwood - the team has pretty much been the same in these years

South Africa should beat West Indies 2-0. They beat them in 2021 and beat them 2-0 last year. The West Indies team who will play against South Africa will be much weaker than the previous 2 teams who played against SA.
