I just ordered 2 skar 12" evl & skar 2k amp to power them until I get my fact. alternator upgraded & Northstar batt. Then I'll be putting a 3k or higher amp on them to give them the power ppl claim they can truly handle. Can't wait to just get them installed & hear how they sound on the modest 2k amp.

@@davidfoster5321 yes the evl & zvx series both handle great power as long as its clean! Sent my rp2k back to skar though, I was not happy with it. I currently have a single zvx 18 on a Taramps Smart3 @ 1 ohm. Bought 2 of the Skar ZVX 15" subs during the Black Friday sale, once I get time between my hectic work schedule to assemble my 8 cu. ft. dual ported birch enclosure for the 15s I'll be taking my single 18 setup out. I have a Sundown 5k amp I plan to initially use on the two zvx 15 subs during break in. After that I'll be putting my Taramps md8000 on them. It's definitely a process, I've been patient but it's killing me having brand new amps & subs still in their boxes that I haven't gotten to use yet. Though the single zvx18 Skar definitely is no slouch! It could easily handle more power than my Smart3 is giving it. I'd put my 5k Sundown Amp on it but my electrical isn't quite up to par to push much more than my Smart3 I'm running now. Installed 350 h/o alt. & Northstar agm batt a while back, just waiting to add some lithium soon.

Keep in mind, these guys are wired at 4 ohms. Seeing only about 800 -1,000 Watts.

For the xfl go see that it has to b 1 ohms. It can get up too 2800 i push mine to 3000 each sub.buddahoutchea to see it flex

A single XFL 12 can handle everything that Taramps 3k can dish out easily. For two of them, you'll want a Taramps Smart5

It can. my xfl's broke my screws to my lexus back lights. Broke the trunk lach. My rear bumper bottom peace broke so u can move the middle of the bumber. My trunk has a gap in it. Buddahoutchea to see it on KZfaq. Only 2 12s n my roof do waves n the doors.

I e ran ddx single 2.34 cf port 40 hz dd box it hit good it still liked low hz over higher. I went back to two dual p3 12’s like the sounds quality of punch subs but for durability the skars and this ab’s can take punishment

Neither of these subwoofers can come even close to the Peerless STW350F. But these two are still great budget steals. I can see why they made the list. 😁🤟

The stiffer suspension on the AB XFL-12, coupled with premium materials, allots for better power handling; than it's rated for.

The VXF is more of a balance between SQ and SPL. If you want SPL you should swap it with the ZVX; which is SPL designed.

It sounds to me like you're giving an example of a folded port or line. we sometimes have to fold the line in order to adjust for a lack of space.

@@rowboyto156 no. Port tuning is, quite frankly, Port tuning 😁 It will sound the same with any shape, width or length. As long as it's final tuning is the same... 10 different ports tuned at the same frequency, will sound the same.

The amp is capable of 2,000 RMS @1ohms. Subs are wired @4ohms recieving roughly 800-1,000watts. Keep in mind, these demos are to give the everyday BUDGET guy a look at what they could get. These are not torture tests of the equipment.

Build your own, it's fricken easy.long as u can read a tape have squares to lay out and cut it's simple.

U can also change box specs for sound or power requirements to completely change how a woofer sounds. A 2cuft box at 40hz with 12sq in of port per cube will sound completely different than a 2.5cuft tuned at 28hz with 18sq in of port. Granted 2nd box will be almost dble size but will sound complete not just and spl tone.

Check out unlawful sounds. Had my 2 15s almost 2 years and they have been phenomenal. Beat my dd 818 on same power by 1.9dbs and so much more to gain.

I also know that the motor structure, magnet size, cone size, surround thickness, and the excursion really dont mean dick until you actually hear it in person. Audiobahn stuff used to look soooooo tough. Even looked nice while running. Then you realized all of it was designed to run the best on 16v and that most of them sounded like ass. There’s nothing impressive looking at all about Alpine Type Rs.... but they sound amazing.

Yea had 2 xfls they were bought separately from different sites about 6 months apart but they were installed together and both motors failed at the same time....I have had alot of different subs and never has the glue broke free it was so weird but I guess shit happens.....but right now I'm building a frankin sub with the basket and gap plate from the xfl and the motor from a opti1222d
